A Coyote holds Walker from behind and Petit throws punches at Walker cutting him up real bad. A big crowd forms behind the Coyotes Goal as the Canucks come to his aid, Staois goes after one of the Coyotes and then Staois' teamate McCallister comes in on the same Coyote, this cause the Coyotes goalie to go over and grab McCallister. Brashear throws a Coyote into the back of the Coyotes net, it looks like he might of thrown a few shots but the camera moves to Walker and Petit, so you can only see a little of it in the top of the screen. Walker and another Canuck are tied up with Petit while another Coyote pulls off the Canuck. As Walker gets free he goes after Petit and they get into a good fight ending in Walker pounding Petit to the ice. For around a minute things are still heated with players all ready to go, but all the pairs are broken up. Brashear and Walker go to the box for the Canucks and Petit goes in for the Coyotes. Brashear is yelling at Petit clearly saying that Brashear will come after him next. Walker is escorted out of the game shortly after. Fun

A bunch of players come together as a whistle stops play with Donald Brashear, Dave Scatchard, and Scott Walker going after Murray Baron. Bob Corkum grabs Scatchard from behind while Walker is soon grabbed by Norm Maciver. Michel Petit then drops his gloves and goes after Walker, landing several punches to the face and cutting Walker badly. A linesman grabs Brashear as Walker ducks his head, clearly hurt by Petit. Scatchard tries to jump still being held by Corkum while Maciver skates away. Walker and Petit break apart but then Walker goes right back after Petit. They trade punches and Petit shoves Walker down but Petit ends up going down too and Walker gets up. Walker continues throwing as Petit gets to his feet but then has his jersey pulled off and goes back down. Walker just pounds away on Petit before a linesman comes in but declines to get involved. Instead Maciver comes in and grabs Petit from behind before another linesman steps in. The linesman tackles Walker, breaking him away from Petit. Scatchard then comes in and throws Maciver to the ice so a linesman gets between them and works on breaking them apart although Scatchard wants to fight. Not a long brawl but there was a lot of action between Petit and Walker. Fun

A wild scrum with all the players on the ice involved. Only the Petit-Walker incident resulted in any good action. This reminded me a little of the wild scrums of the 70's. Fun

Michel Petit drops his gloves as players gather after the whistle and Petit targets Scott Walker who is grabbed from behind by Norm Maciver. Petit throws four rights that all land squarely to the face of Walker. Walker turns away and puts his head down as Petit stops up. Walker however is hurt and badly cut from the punches by Petit. Dave Scatchard notices the suckerpunches by Petit and goes after him though Bob Corkum holds Scatchard back. Walker lets go of Petit who gets free from Scatchard as they all wrestle around but then Walker recovers and goes right back after Petit. Very cheap move by Petit. Walker was being held and Petit took advantage of it, landing several rights to the face and bloodying Walker very badly. Walker wound up with twenty-six stitches as a result of this. Emotion

I agree that the first fight between Walker and Petit should be downgraded to "cheap shot". It was a blind suckerpunch to a guy who had his arms held, not a fight. The second fight should be kept as is.
What do you think, no. 7?

Yes. Right at the 7 second mark, on the very right of the screen, you can see Petit hauling off and sucker-punching Walker, who is tied up completely in the other players and isn't even looking Petit's way.Reply

Scott Walker recovers after being hit several times by Michel Petit at the start of the brawl. Dave Scatchard and Bob Corkum come in and wrestle around with Petit who gets free from Scatchard. Walker rushes in and throws two rights, landing one while getting a hold on Petit. Petit ducks and gets a hold of Walker, landing a right while Walker misses a right. Petit keeps his head low and lands a right after Walker misses a right. Walker misses a right before Petit lands a right, then Walker lands a right and Petit lands a right. Walker misses two rights as he's shoved backwards by Petit and falls into the boards. Petit falls down landing a right which knocks Walker's helmet off but Walker bounces up and lands a right before landing a left. Petit just puts his head down and gets up while Walker throws six rights, landing five. Walker pulls Petit's jersey over his head and then off and Petit falls back to the ice. Petit just covers up and Walker throws seven rights, landing five before a linesman tries to get in but then decides not too. Walker gets on top of Petit to keep him down while Petit then tries to get up. Norm Maciver then comes in grabbing Walker from behind and a linesman comes in too. Petit gets up but doesn't throw at Walker who is pushed away by a linesman. Scatchard then goes in after Maciver and takes him down while Walker is escorted to the box and then to the locker room, his face covered in blood.

This was a brutal fight. Petit landed a hard shot out of the scrum and Walker bent his head over. He was hurt and there was immediate interference from other players. Michel got loose and was trying to get into another scrap. Scott was seeing red and he made a beeline for Petit.

Walker missed a punch and landed a solid blow. He missed a punch and landed a solid shot. Petit landed a couple of solid connects, missed a punch, and landed a solid blow. He started out well in the bout. Walker missed a punch and slipped. Michel landed a decent blow and slipped to the ice.

Walker pushed down on Petit's head. Scott missed a punch, landed a decent blow, and landed a solid connect. He missed a punch and landed an average shot. Walker got Michel on the ice and started to unload. He landed a solid connect, three good shots, and a solid blow. He landed a good uppercut and missed a punch. The refs stepped in as well as a Coyotes player to rescue Petit.

This was a decisive win for Walker. He was a complete mess and his face was a mask of blood. Petit did a lot of damage with the initial shot. He paid a heavy price for the bloodletting. Walker really gave him a frightful beating and landed several good punches at the end.

There was a big scrum, Walker was being held by some Phoenix player and Petit then suckered him and cut him badly. Other players jumped in and four players started to wrestle. Walker got out of the scrum and then he saw Petit and went after him. They started trading rights, then Petit pushed Walker down and hit him with a right, but Walker got back up, pulled Petit's jersey over his head and started hammering Petit with rights. Then he got Petit down and he kept pounding Petit before the referee and a Phoenix player came to the rescue. Very entertaining fight.

One of my favorite fights of all time. Walker gets suckered and is cut pretty bad. Walker sees Petit and goes straight for him. It's pretty even for a while, with Petit pushing Walker down. But Walker gets up and jersey's Petit, pounding him to the ice. Walker kept hitting Petit when he was down, but he deserved it.

Wow, this is pretty awesome stuff. Petit gives Walker a cheap shot while they are all in a big scrum, cutting Walker pretty good. Walker gets his senses about him, and he charges Petit. They exchange wild punches, and Petit pushes Walker down. He gets back up and just pummels Petit until the refs can save him.

Petit suckered Walker during the scrum and as soon as Walker had the chance he came charging after Petit. In the beginning Petit got the better of Walker as they exchanged rights. After Walker got up he just dominated the fight, getting the jersey over Petit's head and just pounded him until one of Petit's teammates and the ref came to the rescue.

Chris McAllister bodies Michel Petit as he touches up for an icing call. A linesman quickly moves Petit away but other players arrive there and Jim McKenzie grabs McAllister. They waste no time dropping the gloves while Dave Scatchard pairs off with Jocelyn Lemieux. The Scatchard and Lemieux fight ends quickly after Scatchard throws some rights and takes Lemieux down. McKenzie and McAllister fight much longer though they mostly just grapple and neither guys gets much of an advantage over the other. The linesmen break up Scatchard and Lemieux and then move to McAllister and McKenzie as they choose to let their fight just end. Fun

This was a dreadfully boring contest. McKenzie missed two blows, landed a decent punch, and landed an average shot. McAllister landed a decent blow and a partial connect. The men wrestled for a very long period of time and the fight became a boring snoozer. Chris missed a final right and the refs stopped the contest.

I rate this as a draw. Both men landed a couple of shots. Big Mac's blows were marginally better, but not significant enough to earn the win. All the wrestling ruined the fight from a spectator vantage point.

Jim McKenzie narrow win Fun

Chris McAllister checks Michel Petit on an icing call so Jim McKenzie steps in to protect his teammate. McKenzie and McAllister grab on with the lefts and McKenzie misses two rights as a small brawl breaks out around them. McAllister misses a right but after McKenzie lands a right, they each connect with rights at the same time. McKenzie lands a right and McAllister changes hands, missing a left which forces McKenzie's head low. McKenzie tries to work in closer on McAllister and they wrestle into the corner with McKenzie raising his head. They're inactive for a lengthy period but McAllister keeps trying to work free while McKenzie stays pretty well idle. McAllister works some space from McKenzie and they drift out of the corner and into the slot, still wrestling but now both are tired. McAllister misses a right and then they just agree to stop fighting each other. A long fight between these two but definitely a boring one. They threw some punches early, McKenzie got the better of it, but then it turned entirely into wrestling. McKenzie basically just held on, McAllister tried to get going but couldn't. I'll go with a slight edge to McKenzie for landing better punches.

After the whistle blows, a skirmish erupts, so these two guys hook up. McKenzie is seen connecting on 1 facial-punch but then prolongs the fight by deliberately locking up McAllister's arms who was trying to throw swings. McKenzie looked winded, so thats why he was willing to settle for waiting on the refs to break up this fight. I'd give Mckenzie a narrow win because of his one punch on McAllister but this is neutralized by McKenzie's unwillingness to continue the fight in prematurely ending it & forcing a one-sided dance instead. Hence, I'm calling this a draw based on this technicality.

Heavyweights McKenzie and McAllister were going at it when these two also decided to have a go. When camera picks them up Lemieux has already lost his helmet and they wrestle behind the net. Scatchard then throws four rights and lands a couple to the back of Lemieux's head. Scatchard wrestles Lemieux down and the linesmen jump in while the heavyweight bout is still going. Scatchard threw only punches and landed a couple to the back of the head, while Lemieux never threw a punch. I give Scatchard the narrow win in a shit fight.

Jon Slaney gets a knee out on Mark Messier, knocking him down to the ice at the blue line and Trevor Linden goes right after Slaney. Linden drops the gloves with Slaney and grabs him but Slaney just goes to the ice and covers up. Linden lands two rights to the side of the head before other players come in and a linesman does too. The linesman grabs Linden to restrain him and the rest of the players pair off with each other. Not much of a fight here since Slaney covered up immediately.

Kind of an interesting altercation here - Slaney actually tried to hit Messier right before this happened and may have caught him with a bit of a knee. Linden went right after Slaney who just turtled. Interesting, because as all Canuck fans know, Linden went out of his way here to stand up for Messier when Messier refused to stand up for Linden when coach Mike Keenan tore him apart in his infamous hissy fit in the Canucks dressing room during a blowout loss in St. Louis. Linden should have thanked Slaney for trying to take out Messier's knee, but Trev's a good guy and instead tried to stand up for his "captain."Reply

Dave Babych grabs Michel Petit as he wades near the Trevor Linden and Jon Slaney fight. Other players pair off too but only Babych and Petit drop their gloves and go. Babych throws three rights and lands two as Petit lowers his head. They grapple and Babych gets Petit to his knees before missing two rights. Mike Stapleton tries to get in but is held back for the most part by Pavel Bure. The linesmen step in after breaking up Linden and Slaney and they get between Babych and Petit while Petit gets up. Edge to Babych for landing the only punches in a dull fight.
