Behind the play, Tie Domi and Cam Russell shed the mitts and square each other up and as Domi moves in to grab on, Russell lands a left. Domi's still able to get his grip with the right as Russell gets a grip with the left initially but after Domi lands a left, Russell switches his grip to the right. Russell then lands a left as Domi misses a left as they start spinning around. Russell misses a left and Domi misses left. Then Russell misses a left and puts his head down to go to the right as Domi just connects with a left. Domi lands a left as Russell lands a right and Russell follows up with a connecting right before landing another right while Domi misses a left. Russell then misses a right and Domi lands a left, then misses a left as Russell lands a right. Domi then pauses to adjust his helmet while Russell narrowly misses two rights. Then Russell puts his head down and misses a right as Domi connects on a left. Domi throws three follow up lefts, landing one that knocks off Russell's helmet as he reverts back to the left. Russell connects on a left and Domi lands a left after. Russell changes to the right and misses a right, the changes to the left again and misses a left as Domi leans away and loses his helmet. Russell goes to the right and misses a right before Domi misses a left. They both lose their grips then but the linesmen stay out and let them continue. They square up once more and Russell gets his grip with the left as Domi establishes his grip with his left. Russell misses three rights and they get spinning again. Domi misses a left and then Russell misses a left as Domi misses a left. Russell misses two lefts after and then Domi lands a left that gets Russell partially off balance. Russell keeps his balance though and lands a left as Domi lands a left. Russell misses a follow up left and then Domi misses a left as Russell gets in tight. Before they get wrestling, the linesmen come in and break it up. Great fight, no question about it. The punches were sailing in this fight as they just stood in and traded almost the entire time. It was a slugfest and close one, neither Domi nor Russell getting an edge here. Draw.

This was an excellent action fight and both men landed several effective punches. Russell landed a couple of solid left hooks early in the fight. Domi landed a solid left. He missed a couple of punches and landed an average blow. Tie was spinning to the left. Russell switched hands a few times in the fight and this is an effective strategy to compensate for the constant spinning. In a lot of the fights I've seen, a guy will get in trouble by committing to just one hand and letting guys like Domi or Kordic get into a position where the timing of their punches is uninterrupted.

Cam missed a couple of lefts, missed a punch, landed an average right, and landed a solid blow. Tie landed a couple of solid connects, an average blow, and an average shot. Russell landed an average shot, missed a couple of punches, and landed an average connect.

Domi missed a shot and landed a solid left. Cam landed a solid left and a pretty good hook. He missed a right. The men's grip broke and both went sprawling. They went back to each other and continued the bout. Russell missed a right. Tie missed a punch and landed a pretty good left. Cam landed a solid blow and missed a couple of shots.

I rate this fight as a draw. Both men landed a number of effective punches. Both landed blows with authority. It was a very competitive bout. Each time one man got a temporary advantage, the other came right back with an effective shot. I was really impressed by the tactical adjustments Russell used to deal with Domi's spinning. This was the mark of an intelligent and experienced fighter.

What a great fight this was, definitely one of the best of that 1997-98 season. Toronto's Tie Domi and Chicago's Cam Russell both slugged the heck out of each other, giving 'em and taking 'em without flinching.

Domi and Russell were going with the lefts in the beginning, and Tie might have landed a little better than Cam in this initial exchange. The two scrappers broke apart from each other, then squared off a second time. Special thanks go to the linesmen for not jumping in when they got separated in the middle of the fight; it was good that they let Domi and Russell settle things on their own.

Domi and Russell join in battle again, and this time Cam goes righty. At one point, it looked like Domi's left fist and Russell's right fist collided in mid-air as they were both trying to knock each other's head off. That had to hurt! Lucky neither guy busted a hand or wrist there.

Russell and Domi tired out after drilling each other with some more punches, and held on until the linesmen came in. Domi might have landed a couple more shots overall, but it wasn't enough to call an edge for him.

This was an exciting battle, a very well-fought draw. It was perhaps the best of all the great Domi-Russell fights.

They spin around and throw punches with each landing some good ones. Russell lands an early squarely and Domi lands some good lefts popping Russell's helmet off in the process. Russell switches to the left effectively at the end. When they separated Domi told one of the officials that he hurt his hand.

Great fight. They just traded punches, at one point they lost a grip of each other, squared off again and started to throw again. Solid draw.

This is a spirited, wild, action fight between Domi and Russell. Both guys did get their licks in, very tough to call either way so i will give it a draw.

As the play moves up the ice, Tie Domi moves in to put a check on Bob Probert. Probert sidesteps Domi and hits him in the back of the head with a combination elbow/stick. Domi collides with the boards and goes down.

Kris King doesn't like that, and goes after Probert, getting a glove in his face and taking him down. All of the other players quite literally pile on. Domi, who is okay from the hit by Probert, ends up grappling with Keith Carney during the fracas.

King and Probert break away from the pileup, drop the gloves and go. Everyone else stops scrumming to watch...

Probert didn't appreciate the way King treated Chelios and he decided to make him pay. They quickly fall to the ice but get back up and King manages to land a right as they are doing so. He lands 2 more rights before Probert comes back but Probert's punches miss and then King decides he better quit while he's ahead and he bodyslams Probert to the ice.

Narrow win for King as he landed the only punches in a very short fight and Probert didn't have a chance to really work on King.

Kris King and Bob Probert separate from the pileup and go at it.

King gets Probert hunched over and feeds him three very good rights. Probert gets himself straightened out and tosses a couple punches at King, but doesn't connect well. King then takes Probert down, and the fight is broken up by the officials.

It wasn't all that eventful a battle, but King did all the connecting and earned the edge. It's not often you see a teammate sticking up for Tie Domi, but King did so and did well.

There's a pileup along the boards between Tie Domi, Kris King, Jayson More, and Bob Probert. Other players gather around and start roughing it up as the referees work on separating the four players on the ice. King manages to get up and pairs off with Chris Chelios. King shoves Chelios away and other players approach King but he backs away. Probert then gets up and charges after King. They get the gloves off and come together in close. They both fall down right away and as they get up, King lands two rights. Probert reaches his feet while King misses a right and Probert misses a right. King lowers his head and then Probert lands two rights. King then grabs Probert's legs, lifts them off the ice, and dumps him on his back. The referees come in as King misses a left. Each guy landed a couple punches so I call it a draw. Poor fight though, it was over too soon.

King and Chris Chelios were originally pushing and shoving. Probert went after Kris because King would have had a decided advantage in a bout with Chelios. Kris landed a solid right and a pretty good shot. He landed a partial connect. Probert landed a pretty good right and a solid connect. He missed a punch. King went for the takedown. King landed a solid left hook right as the refs were breaking up the fight.

I rate this as a narrow win for King. He landed one more effective blow than Probert. Both men landed about equally in terms of the impact of the blows. King was a little busier and landed the extra solid shot to eke out a narrow win.

King gets off to a good start and lands a couple rights. Probert comes back and lands a couple of his own and immediately King decides that's enough and goes for the Mick Vukota takedown. Couple punches landed by both, King probably landed better but bailed immediately when Probert started throwing, so I call it a draw.

Nothing fight. They battle in the corner, Domi finally drops his gloves and lands two quick lefts when Probert barely has one glove off. Probert drops both gloves and grabs Domi, but all they do now is wrestle a bit and quickly decide they don't wanna go and let the linesmen get in.

This is a little-known event in the Bob Probert-Tie Domi rivalry. It is surprising they only got two minutes each for roughing. Probert and Domi clearly dropped the gloves and some punches were thrown.

Domi and Probert were among the Hawks and Leafs in the corner, grinding and bumping and digging at the puck. Domi and Probert eye each other. Domi gets his gloves in Probert's face and shoves him in the chest and face about four times.

Probert has enough and hits Domi with a gloved punch to the face. Domi immediately drops his gloves, grabs on, and smacks Probert with two quick lefts. They grapple as Domi works Probert's jersey-front over his face. Domi tosses two rights that don't land, then the linesmen come in and stop it.

Not much of a fight, but it WAS a fight, and Domi gets the edge.
