Stu Grimson narrow win Fun
5
Rookie heavyweight, Scott Parker takes on a veteran enforcer in Stu Grimson, dropping the gloves and squaring off. Grimson moves a stick out of their way and Parker gets a hold with the left on Grimson's jersey. Parker misses a right and then Grimson gets a hold of Parker's jersey with the left as Parker misses a right. Grimson gets in tight on Parker and they wrestle along the boards. Grimson works some separation between them and lands a right as they move off the boards. Parker misses a right and then ducks under Grimson's arm, getting outside. Parker loses his helmet doing so and then misses a right. They pause and then Parker lands two rights before removing his helmet as it's caught around his head. They get in tight again and Parker misses a right before they get some separation from each other again. Grimson misses a right and Parker misses a right before Grimson throws four rights, landing two. They pause and Grimson throws three rights, landing one. Grimson loses his balance afterwards and Parker misses a right before going to the ice with Grimson. Alright battle and Grimson landed better so he gets the win.

This was a decent fight between two tough heavyweights. The men had a long pose off before getting down to business. Parker landed a solid shot and missed a right. Grimson landed a partial connect. Scott landed a few light blows. Stu missed two punches, landed a solid blow, and missed a right. Parker missed a punch. Grimson landed a solid blow and missed a shot. The refs stopped the contest.

I rate this as a narrow win for Grimson. He landed with better pop. Parker landed a similar amount of punches, but a few of them were light and ineffective.

Two big HW's square off. Parker throws the first punch that misses and they start wrestling. Grimson misses with a right, Parker lands a couple rights to the side of Grimson's helmet, then one more weak right to the helmet. Parker's helmet comes off, Grimson misses with two, Parker misses with one. Then Grimson throws some hard right hands and seems to land a few to the helmetless head of Parker. Parker takes Grimson down and linesmen get in. Grimson had a little blood coming from his nose, I didn't think Parker landed any clean shots but maybe he did. Anyway I give the narrow win to Grimson for landing more and harder punches.

They set up to square off. "Momentum-shifts" rule this fight as Grimson lands 1 facialpunch followed by Parker rattling off 3 short-range facialpunches. Then it's Grimson's turn, and he rattles off 4 long-range facialpunches. Then, its back to Parker who closes in body-wise and it looks like he lands 1 medium-range facialpunch before he dumps Grimson down to the ice and wraps him up with the jersey. Refs then end it. Probably closer to a narrow win for Grimson than a draw.

Antti Aalto bodies Peter Forsberg along the boards and Jeff Odgers goes over to Aalto and gets rough with him. Jim McKenzie sees it and comes over to Odgers, initiating a scrap as Aalto skates away. Rene Corbet bumps Aalto as a whistle stops play but nothing more happens. Odgers and McKenzie grab on in tight and after wrestling a bit to start off, Odgers gets going. Odgers throws nine rights and lands seven as McKenzie throws six rights and lands four. They resume wrestling after that and soon McKenzie ducks his head down. Odgers misses a right and is then forced down by McKenzie. Draw in a short fight. They did some wrestling but both threw some punches.

They have a quick exchange of right hands, then they wrestle and McKenzie takes Odgers down. Solid draw.
