 EC 2762 fight reviews 1 fight log Jun 8, 2008 18:12 ET | Darren McCarty narrow win | Fun 3 |
The 2 were lined up against each other and as the play was going on they were in each other's faces ignoring the play. The 2 decide to go when they are in front of the benches and they finally drop the gloves after taking some time to make up their minds.
McCarty throws several quick lefts landing a couple of them before Deadmarsh turns away to avoid being hit. McCarty then hits Deadmarsh's shoulder with a few lefts before they get in close and wrestle right up against the Red Wings bench. McCarty tries to get Deadmarsh's helmet off with his right hand but he is unable to and they just wrestle away before they go to the ice.
McCarty gets the win because he landed a few punches from the start before they started wrestling but he landed the only punches and was at least trying to throw some so he gets the win. |

How is this a draw?
McCarty lands about 5 punches in a row to Deadmarsh's 2. Then after they hug, McCarty throws some more. |

| A little exchange at the beginning which McCarty landed more in after that they just hugged with McCarty landing the only few punches for the rest of the fight. |

| McCarty throws multiple lefts, mostly connecting with Deadmarsh's back. McCarty may have landed a body punch or two, Deadmarsh just holds on and they wrestle to the ice. Clear win for McCarty, he was the only one trying to fight. |

| Yeah the replay shows McCarty getting in a flurry at the beginning, after that it was mostly wrestling but it's a win for McCarty. |

SarcasticPillow Jan 29 19:49 ET | Hey mullet, Jocke, I think you guys should watch the fight again. The replay shows a but more action at the start of the fight that was shown on the live feed. I think rating it a two is pretty low. | Reply |
mullet Jan 30 03:32 ET | Thanks for posting the video. I've never seen that replay before, I think I have the LA feed on a tape and it missed all the action from the beginning. Definitely better than 2 and a win for McCarty. | Reply |

 EC 2762 fight reviews 1 fight log Jun 8, 2008 18:18 ET | Draw | Fun 6 |
They were lined up against each other and started pushing at each other as the play moved on. They quickly decided to go right at the LA blueline.
Shanahan misses with the first few rights and Buchberger gets in close to him. Buchberger starts throwing the rights over the top and eventually knocks off Shanahan's helmet and Shanahan does likewise with a right. They go up against the boards and do some wrestling as they try to get free. Shanahan manages to land 1 right to the back of Buchberger's head. Buchberger then throws a wild right that connects and knocks Shanahan off balance but Shanny gets back up and they wrestle down to the ice.
Draw as they both landed some good punches. |

Fairly entertaining bout here. Buchberger starts out wildly throwing, not landing much. Shanahan then flurries. Buchberger is more active then Shanahan throws a bomb that looked to land. Then they go down.
Draw. |

| Ian Laperriere throws a check on Jiri Fischer and moments later, they meet near centre ice and drop the gloves. They grab hold of each other and immediately, Laperriere shakes his right elbow pad off and proceeds to get his arm right out of his jersey. Fischer stays in close and wrestles as Laperriere goes for the helmet of his opponent, trying to pry it off Fischer. Fischer waits but then purposefully trips Laperriere. After they hit the ice, the linesmen come in and break them apart. Completely boring fight as not a punch was thrown. Laperriere had an advantage with his arm out of his jersey but didn't capitalize on it. Fischer was totally inactive the whole fight and then used a dirty maneuver in deliberately tripping Laperriere to finish the fight. |

Laperriere takes a healthy run at Jiri Fischer. Fischer doesn't like it and they have words behind the play. The gloves come off. Laperriere shakes off his right elbow pad. Laperriere is trying to remove Fischer's helmet. Fischer is just content to hang on to Laperriere. Fischer then decides to end the fight in cheap fashion as he slew foots Laperriere sending them both to the ice.
Draw no punches were thrown in this brief fight. |
