Rookie Canadiens defenceman Peter Svoboda has the puck deep in the his own zone close to the boards to the left of goalie Steve Penny. Kumpel is coming at him to forecheck. Svoboda cuts to his left and Kumpel puts his knee out. He catches Svoboda flush on the knee forcing Svoboda out of the game. 2 minutes for kneeing to Kumpel. Emotion

Chris Nilan decisive win Fun
5
Chris Nilan jumps up into Alain Cote as they bump in open ice. Cote tries to skate away by Nilan grabs Cote's arm and then drops the gloves so Cote drops the gloves too. Nilan misses a right and Cote ducks his head while missing a right. Nilan tries to keep Cote from getting in close and throws five rights to start, landing two before Cote gets his head up though his helmet comes off in doing so. Cote stays idle but Nilan throws four more rights, landing two more including one cleanly. Cote misses a right badly as he's completely locked out by Nilan and then gets in close and ducks again. Nilan throws five last rights and lands two while Cote goes to his knees. Nilan then lands one final right as the linesmen get in and stop the fight. All Nilan here.

Chris Nilan decisive win Fun

This was an easy win for Nilan. Chris landed three average rights at the onset of the fight. Cote missed a punch. Nilan missed two punches and landed two solid rights. Alain missed a punch and began to slip. Chris missed a blow and landed a decent punch. He missed a shot and landed a decent blow. He landed a final partial connect as Cote was on his knees.

I rate this as a decisive win for Nilan. He controlled the fight and had Cote in a bad spot at the end.

Nilan and Cote collided near Canadiens bench. Nilan immediately grabs Cote and drops the gloves. It was all Nilan feeding some good right uppercuts as long as Cote want down on his knees and refs quickly saved him.
Nilan was instigater of this fight and it seemed Cote wanted no part of Nilan.

Total domination by Nilan as he hammers Cote with several hard rights pounding him to his knees and forcing the linesmen to intervene, decisive win for Nilan.

Chris Nilan narrow win Fun

Dale Hunter and Chris Nilan meet up and drop the gloves early in the third period. They grab on and Hunter gets in tight immediately as they wrestle over to the boards. Nilan gets Hunter's helmet off while Hunter likewise goes for Nilan's helmet but fails at removing it. Nilan then throws five rights and lands four to the head as Hunter hangs on and then makes another try for the helmet. Hunter is again unable to get it off but lands a left as Nilan lands another right. Nilan lands two more rights and is wrestled into the boards by Hunter but Nilan gets off the boards and soon wrestles Hunter off balance. Nilan topples Hunter over and misses a right as they hit the deck. Hunter slides out from underneath Nilan and then misses a left beneath the linesmen before stepping away from the fight. In the penalty boxes, Nilan and Hunter start pointing at each other and shouting at one another. Boring scrap with Nilan getting the edge for landing more punches.

This was a boring fight. Hunter was trying to keep the bout in tight to avoid getting tagged with big shots from the superior Nilan. The men wrestled some early on. Chris landed two decent rights and missed a shot. He landed an average blow and a light punch. He missed two punches and landed a light punch. He missed a shot and landed a light blow. The men wrestled to the ice. Hunter landed a late blow with decent impact around an official.

I rate this as a narrow win for Nilan. He landed some decent shots, but he never landed any big punches.

Whan camera gets there, Nilan and Hunter are already clinched together. Nilan throws a several shorts shots at the side and back of Hunter's head and wrestles him down to the ice. After they both fell, Hunter dont want to quit and tries to go after Nilan to feed few uppercuts. Its hard to see if any of them connected because refs intervened.
After the fight both guys are yelling at each other from penalty boxes.

Dull fight with Hunter holding on for dear life and Nilan landing some short rights that have virtually no effect due to being in so tight, despite that give the win to Nilan based on aggression, control and landing more blows.
