Al MacAdam clear win Fun
4
In this quick fight Larmer spends the whole time covering up and throwing that occasional punch. MacAdam didnt throw a punch at first, but after Larmer threw that blind punch he had to respond. Al throws two uppercuts and the linesmen intervene, landing the 2nd one which bloodies Larmer.

Could be easily a decisive call, but the refs were coming in before a punch was thrown. Anyways Larmer clearly didnt want to go, but he made a mistake (throwing a punch at the opponent). MacAdam responded and he gave Larmer a bloody nose.

Clear MacAdam win because he landed the only punch of the fight and controlled the whole bout. Larmer was just covering up the whole time.

Dino Ciccarelli and Al Secord line up for a faceoff and get tangled up when the puck drops. Secord lifts his elbow up into Ciccarelli and then steps back, turning away from him. Ciccarelli swings his elbow out at Secord but misses him and Secord then delivers a two-handed slash right into the middle of Ciccarelli's back. Ciccarelli is flattened by the blow and stays down for a while. A trainer came out to attend to Ciccarelli who got up after a lengthy time on the ice and proceeded to give the finger to the fans before exiting the ice. Emotion

This was a very nasty move by Secord. Rocky was lined up with superstar Dino Ciccarelli on the face off. The two were jousting a bit with sticks to establish better position. Secord shoved Dino a bit. The puck was dropped and Ciccarelli responded with a light elbow. Al responded with a heavy slash on the back of Dino's neck. Ciccarelli went down hard and was writhing in pain on the ice for over a minute.

This was a dirty play for sure. Rocky waited until Dino turned to join the play. He delivered a forceful slash behind the neck. Ciccarelli was a vile stick man in his own right. The fans were giving it to him and he flipped them the bird as he left the ice.

Gordie Roberts narrow win Fun
4
Secord started this one by brazenly hacking Dino Ciccarelli with a vicious slash to the back of the neck. The Minnesota superstar was writing in pain on the ice. Roberts was tough, but an infrequent fighter. Still, he was a man who could be counted on when it was time to stick up for a teammate. This was an obvious enforcing situation and Gordie wasted no time in going after Rocky Secord.

Roberts got a great grip on Al's right arm and complete neutralized the weapon. Al missed a couple of weak lefts. Gordie got the right hand going. He missed a shot and landed a decent blow. He missed a few punches, landed a partial connect, and landed an average punch. The men did some wrestling. Secord tried unsuccessfully to get a couple of right hands off. The men fell to the ice and the refs separated the two.

I rate this as a narrow win for Roberts. He tied up Secord well. Gordie didn't land any heavy punches, but he landed a few moderately effective blows. He controlled the fight, but the damage wasn't extensive. I think a narrow win is the correct call in this instance.

Roberts was a stalwart defenseman who earned the respect of teammates and opponents alike. He was born and raised in Detroit. He was the youngest of four hockey playing brothers. He was named after "Mr. Hockey" the great Gordie Howe. Roberts established his toughness in the Dub. He racked up a good amount of penalty minutes with the Victoria Cougars.

Roberts signed with the New England Whalers of the WHA. He thrived there and became one of the best two-way defensemen in the league. He demonstrated his toughness by eagerly taking on Curt Brackenbury, Peter Driscoll, and Terry Ruskowski. Roberts played a physical game, but he wasn't a dirty player. He usually fought only when he had to.

Roberts had the thrill of playing with legends Gordie Howe, Bobby Hull, and Dave Keon in the 1979-1980 season. He learned a lot about veteran leadership from those all-time greats. Gordie got picked up by the Minnesota North Stars. He stepped up during physical battles with the Boston Bruins. He fought less as time went on. He was respected and was generally left alone.

Gordie had a twenty year professional career. He won two Stanley Cups with the Pittsburgh Penguins. I remember his stint with the Bruins. He was always in the right position to break up a play. He was an asset to the team, even in his later years. No one ever said a bad word about him. He did his job capably and with class.

Roberts was the first American-born player to play 1000 games in the NHL. He was elected as a worthy choice for the U.S. Hockey Hall of Fame. Gordie was always a class act. He went on to coach youth hockey. He will be remembered as a guy who did his job well and stepped up to lend a hand when someone took a cheap shot on one of his teammates.

Gordie Roberts narrow win Fun
3
Gordie Roberts makes his way through the crowd after Al Secord following his slash on Dino Ciccarelli. Secord sees Roberts coming and readies, they both then drop their gloves and engage. Roberts misses a right as he gets his head down in close with Secord. Secord then misses a right just before Roberts throws a series of six rights, landing two before falling to his knees and pulling down Secord as well. The linesmen then get in and break it up, preventing either from getting up and throwing more punches. Slight edge to Roberts for landing the only punches in a fast, short, and poor fight.

Secord slashes Ciccarelli with a two hander to the back after the faceoff and Roberts goes after Secord. Pretty short fight, Roberts lands a few rights, Secord wants to wrestle, then he pulls Roberts down.

Happened right after the cheapshot. The only active fighter here is Roberts, who throws blind punches at Secord. He throws several right hands at Secord and surprisingly he managed to land some of them on the back of the head. After like 6-7 punches they both go down on the ice.

Major props for Roberts, who was the only one throwing. He simply overpowered the more experienced Secord and scores a decision over the Blackhawk. No damage done.

Roberts charges Secord in response to the slashing incident and away they go, Secord does next to nothing and holds on while Roberts lands a couple to the side/back of the head, narrow in Roberts.
