There's a draw in the Devils' zone. Leblond and Rechlicz are lined up next to each other. They drop the gloves and buckets and move into the neutral zone, Leblond pursuing the back-skating Rechlicz. Rechlicz circles around back toward the Devils' zone and makes the "come here" motion. Leblond stalks Rechlicz a bit more and closes in, then they both square off. Leblond reaches in with his right hand, grabbing the collar of Rechlicz's jersey. Rechlicz tags Leblond with an overhand left then misses another. Rechlicz grabs Leblond's jersey with his right hand as Leblond lands a few right handed jersey-jabs. Rechlicz throws three big lefts, the first two miss by quite a bit and the third lands on the back of Leblond's head. Leblond gets Rechlicz up against the Rats bench and starts throwing lefts of his own. Leblond throws three overhand lefts, all of which land. Rechlicz spins away from the bench a bit as Leblond misses with an overhand left. Leblond lands a good left uppercut that snaps Rechlicz's head back. Rechlicz lands a decent left hook to the side/back of Leblond's head. Leblond is yanking on the collar of Rechlicz's jersey as Rechlicz throws three more lefts, all of which miss wildly. Rechlicz is a bit off balance after missing the punches. Leblond pushes him back towards the partition between the two benches. As Leblond is pushing Rechlicz back, he throws a left uppercut that doesn't do much. Leblond pins Rechlicz against the partition and then throws four rapid fire left hands to the side of Rechlicz's head, all of them landing, before the linesmen step in. I give the narrow win to Leblond for the flurry at the end, landing more decent punches, and landing at a 3-1 rate ... it's closer to a "clear win" to a "narrow win", but there wasn't quite enough from Leblond to push it over.

The camera gets there a little late, after the fight has already started. Gillies has his helmet off, Leblond doesn't ... not sure if Gillies took his off or not. As the camera gets there, Leblond throws a weak left that is deflected by Gillies. Leblond throws another left that misses, and Gillies lands a right jersey-jab. Gillies throws a left hook that comes up well short, then Gillies tries to get Leblond's helmet off. Leblond lands a glancing left to Gillies' forehead then misses short on another left. Gillies manages to rip Leblond's helmet off. Gillies lands a couple more right jersey-jabs. Both Leblond and Gillies throw a left that misses. They tie up pretty good for a few a bit, then Leblond throws a left uppercut that lands on the chest of Gillies. Leblond then lands and overhand left to the side of Gillies' head. Gillies is employing the two-handed death hug defense, made famous by current Edmonton Oiler Zach Stortini, for awhile. Gillies then throws a weak left that Leblond blocks. The linesman looks to move in, but is waved off by Leblond. Gillies lands a good left uppercut, then Leblond misses with a left. Gillies throws a left that comes up well short, then Leblond throws a left that's easily blocked by Gillies. Both fighters start throwing lefts, Gillies with four and Leblond with two, but they're both worn out. There's nothing behind the punches and they miss by quite a bit. Gilles throws a slow right that misses, and Leblond answers with an equally slow left that doesn't do any damage. It's a decent, long bout that doesn't have a decisive winner as far as I'm concerned. Draw.

I thought Leblond landed the better punches in the fight. Gillies was active but seemed to have trouble connecting. I can see giving it a draw/ narrow win Leblond
