After three Ottawa Senators goals in just under a minute, Tom Renney feels like the Rangers need to find a way to change the momentum. Thus he sends Colton Orr over the boards who quickly makes a beeline for Brian McGrattan; they jostle each other with their sticks before facing each other at center ice and shedding their sticks and gloves.

After a short square off, Orr lunges in and begins throwing rapid fire right hands. Of the nine bombs Orr throws about six land cleanly, including a massive haymaker to McGrattan's nose which stunned him and knocked his helmet flying. During this onslaught McGrattan seems overwhelmed and the few feeble right hand counter-punches he throws come up well short of the mark. However, the tide turns after Orr struggles to get his elbow pad loose. They continue to go toe-to-toe but now McGrattan is landing some clean right hands to the side of Orr's face while Orr's punches fall short. McGrattan then outmuscles Orr and gets inside on him where he can use his size and reach advantage to full effect. After Orr throws two weak lefts, McGrattan comes over the top with a right cross that misses but, in the process, causes Orr to lose his balance and lean forward. McGrattan tries to capitalize but misses with a huge uppercut; he tries it again and lands a glancing blow followed by a solid overhand right. Orr switches back to the right and they continue to trade with McGrattan getting the better of it. Orr manages to surprise McGrattan with a jersey jab and both combatants throw hard rights with Orr looking to land his a little more solidly, it doesn't phase McGrattan though and he throws one last right looking to catch Orr on the side of the head and knock him off balance. McGrattan leans on Orr and both men topple to the ice exhausted.

Outstanding battle, Orr lands the harder punches but McGrattan gets the nod for quantity.
Potential FOTY candidate.

Brian McGrattan and Colton Orr meet up near centre ice and decide to go; and they've done this with each other before, numerous times. They hold onto each other with the left and Orr misses a right immediately. McGrattan misses a right and Orr throws two rights and lands one. McGrattan misses two rights and then Orr throws two rights and lands one. McGrattan misses two rights and then Orr lands a right which sends McGrattan's helmet flying. Orr lands again with a right and then McGrattan misses a right. Orr connects with two rights and McGrattan lands a jersey jab. Then they go back and forth exchanging rights. Orr throwing four and landing one while McGrattan throws four and lands two. McGrattan then throws three rights and lands one. Orr stays idle and McGrattan connects with a right. Orr misses a right and McGrattan lands a right. Orr switches hands and misses a left. Orr lands a left as McGrattan lands a right. McGrattan throws three rights and lands one then Orr misses a right. Orr switches hands and McGrattan connects on three rights. Orr misses a right and McGrattan lands another right. Orr misses a right, McGrattan misses a right, and then throws two rights and connects on one. Orr misses two rights and then McGrattan lands a right. They stand back and Orr misses a jersey jab. Orr misses a right as McGrattan misses a right. McGrattan misses a right and then they get in close and go down with each other. Huge slugfest. Great fight, they were just trading rights throughout the fight which did last quite a while. It was Orr early and McGrattan late but McGrattan did land more and better to earn the win in this big time bout.

Great battle! Orr comes off the bench for a shift and skates by McGrattan, who verbally issues the challenge. Orr turns around and moves toward McGrattan, and the two shed the gloves and square off. Both go righty at first. Orr is the more active, missing a bunch at first, then finding the range and landing well with some rights, one of which sends Brian's lid flying. McGrattan is swinging just as many as Orr, but isn't connecting much. Orr then switches to the left, and he shouldn't have. McGrattan is able to get the range on Orr, flailing away with the right and landing well. Orr's lefts are missing for the most part, so he goes back to the right. McGrattan keeps slugging away and keeps on landing nicely on Orr's head and face. Orr looks like he tires out and McGrattan is still charged up. McGrattan ends up tackling Orr down, and it's over.

Overall, give a slight edge to McGrattan for landing more. This one will definitely be one of the Fight Of The Year candidates.

These two really let the fists fly. There were too many to describe in accurate detail but Colton Orr definitely had the edge early landing the more solid shots even knocking McGrattan's helmet off. As the fight wore on it was McGrattan who turned the tables on Orr landing clearly the better shots and taking control of the fight. Good fight between two heavies, slight edge to McGrattan.

Both guys throw some huge rights, each landing really good shots. Then Orr switches to his left and throws two, neither doing any damage. Then Orr goes back to his right and lands some more. McGrattan throws a huge uppercut and continues to go at it with Orr until they go to the ice with McGrattan on top. Best fight of the year. Solid draw.

Orr landed some early but fell short with a lot of them, they just did not reach the mark. McGrattan then takes control, using his strength and long arms and tosses Orr around like a rag doll, landing almost at will. Great fight.

Pretty good exchange with both parties throwing with enthusiasm (if not effect) until Richardson sees an opening and clocks Dubinsky with a right. It wasn't a haymaker but didn't need to be - it was a perfect punch to the jaw and Dubinsky was knocked silly. With a little direction he left the ice under (mostly) his own power. Happens to the best, kid.

The old man's still got some punching power left. Dubinsky got some jersey jabs in that knocked Luke's helmet off, then Luke comes over the top with a crushing right that floors Dubinsky. He tries to get up but can't quite make it and needs help.

Richardson issues the challenge to Dubinsky, who gladly accepts. They grab on and go, with Dubinsky being the more aggressive. He peppers Richardson with some quick straight punches and jersey-jabs. Richardson tries to keep his face away from the fists, and he replies with some short shots of his own that don't land well. Dubinsky fires in two lefts, and then Richardson sees his opening: with one big stroke, Richardson comes in with a right-handed haymaker that cranks Dubinsky on the chin. Dubinksy goes right down with Luke pinning him. Richardson skates off, and Dubinsky has a great deal of difficulty getting to his feet and getting off the ice. Nicely-applied KO by Cool Hand Luke, who was clearly willing to take a few punches to land the big one.

Behind the play, Richardson and Dubinsky shed the mitts. Dubinsky starts off trying a sidearm left, but comes up short. Brandon throws two more of the same, this time landing one to the side of Luke's head, but missing the other. Richardson is unable to come close with any of his punches. They circle around and Dubinsky gets in a jersey jab. Richardson forces Dubinsky up against the boards, and this closes the gap between the two fighters and allows Richardson to finally get close enough to connect with a punch. Richardson connects with a big right and Dubinsky goes to the ice like a ton of bricks.

KO win for Richardson, as his punch clearly sent Dubinsky to the ice, and Brandon was wobbly when he tried to get up. Dubinsky didn't appear to be all there. This fight probably would have been a clear win for Dubinsky, but Richardson landed 1 punch and made it count.

KO of the year already, Dubinsky is doing a good job against the veteran and then Richardson comes over with a huge right that drops Dubinsky. Dubinsky starts to get up but wobbles back to the ice, the refs help him to his feet and lean him against the boards where the trainers take it from there.

Dubinsky and Richardson drop the gloves and grab onto each other. Dubinsky throws a few meaningless punches and Richardson lets a meaningless punch of his own go. They come near the boards and Dubinsky throws a punch that leaves him wide open. Richardson smacks him with a hard right hand and down he goes. Dubinsky was in la-la land for a while.

Dubinsky and Richardson held on for a bit with Dubinsky throwing a couple punches that come up short. All of a sudden out of the blue BOOM! Richardson just drops Dubinsky with a huge right. Dubinsky starts out doing slightly better than Richardson throwing some small rabbit punches with his left hand. He was also then able to hold off Richardson from landing any punches and got another short punch in. Then Richardson gets Dubinsky against the boards and lands a right straight across the jaw that K.O's Dubinsky. Dubinsky had trouble getting to his feet and the linesman had to assist him and hold him up against the boards until he can get helped off the ice

Young rookie, Brandon Dubinsky wants his first fight in the NHL late in this game with long time tough guy and league veteran, Luke Richardson. They grab on with the left and Dubinsky misses a right as Richardson leans away. Dubinsky changes hands and throws three lefts, landing one before Richardson misses a right. There's a little pause and then Richardson misses a right. They jersey jab a little bit and go over to the boards where Richardson lands a big right that drops Dubinsky. The linesmen get right in and break it up as Richardson lets up and skates away. Dubinsky tries to get up but is clearly out of it and is attended to by a trainer. KO win for Richardson.

Dubinsky and Richardson look at each other between the face off circles in the Sen's end. It doesnt take long and they send the gloves and sticks flying. They grab on and Dubinsky Keeps richardson at bay by thrwoing some ineffective jersey jabs. During the fight they glide over to the corner glass while Dubinsky is pinned agaisnt the glass. Richardson makes quick work of the one punch he threw and landed just a textbook right cross right on Dubinskys cheek. Dubinksy falls like a ton of shit. A couple of Rangers players and ref are quickly there to get Dubinksy up. He obviously is not O.K becuase his legs are like gumby. They eventually help him up and as the trainer comes off the bench to help he has this look on his face like WTF. They help him off the ice but he still thinks he gonna skate to the bech but is helped off the ice.
