Stevens 24 fight reviews Mar 2, 2008 06:46 ET | Kevin Bergin clear win | Fun 7 |
| Bergin wants revenge for the previous game and taps Watkins on the shins and asks to dance which he declines, Bergin taps him again and nods to say we ARE going, both drop gloves as Bergin in about to remove his lid Watkins starts to throw some good shots landing a couple to Bergins visor and cuts him, but Bergin stands tall and starts to unload on Watkins, one shot knocking his helmat clean off then Bergin goes to task hammering Watkins to the ice, Give Watkins credit he did well and showed some guts, would have been nice to see him remove his lid but probably wanted the extra protection lol |

good fight right off the draw. bergin i guess wnated some revenge after watkins handed his ass to him at the skydome.
so tommy watkins starts pretty good landing the first 4 or 5 nice punches one of them giving bergin a nice little cut. they then go with a little toe to toe for a few seconds both trading good shots. bergin keeps his chin up and takes watkins shots, watkins stumbles under the weight of a punch and bergin takes advantage throwing about 4 or 5 nice little upper cuts. and they wrestle to the ice.
although tommy did a good job no doubt who the winner was. im doing this from memory of the other night. this game was oldtime hockey! |

A good judgement on this event Edk29, as i recall this young brit beat up Bergin @ Coventry so an obvious motive for the fight was revenge.
Im not going to echo what has already been said, but all credit to Watkins for plucking the courage to take on a damn good enforcer with a huge aray of fights wins. |
NickThePanther 96 fight reviews Apr 12, 2008 05:30 ET | Kevin Bergin clear win | Fun 7 |
| Watkins had mugged Bergin in there previous meeting and Bergin told Ellis that he wanted him so he's sent out on the first shift. There talking and Watkins wants none of it but it's obvious Bergin is giving him little choice and looks really pissed. The puck drops and they drop the gloves, as Bergin takes off his helmet Watkins jumps in and throws about four punches, they then go toe to toe until Bergin rocks Watkins with a solid punch, Bergin then lands a few more solid shots and the fights over |

| Bergin wanted revenge for being jumped by Watkins in the previous game so lined up with him at the opening face off. Both guys drop the gloves and Bergin starts laying into Watkins and delivers a sound win infront of the home crowd. His first fight at the NIC after 4 pretty good bouts away!! |

Bergy isnt an enforcer by a long shot he's hes a power forward that can drop the gloves when needed and he only went after Watkins because he mugged him in a scrum down at cov the previous game when Bergy was chasing Calder (after an awesome if not slightly late hit) and having a words with Timmons at the same time. | Reply |
Oneill.the.Giant Mar 2, 2008 11:11 ET | Remember Watkins only won the 1st fight because he caught Bergin in a bad position and never let him up to fight fair, He also kept his lid on this fight and tried to jump Bergin as he took his off.So im glad he got beat. | Reply |
ek29 Mar 2, 2008 17:14 ET | full of! bergin slashes calder! leagues top point scorer after a legal hit. and unless the whole world of hockey fighting has changed in 24hours players fight with visors! ive even seen a fight with a cage v.s a helmetless player! he didnt jump bergin! bergin wanted the fight in the first place! | Reply |
Stevens Mar 5, 2008 09:47 ET | Thanks Oneill, at least someone agrees with me about the 1st bergin watkins fight. | Reply |
matt44 Mar 7, 2008 19:25 ET | Yeah I agree about Watkins mugging Bergin at the Skydome.
Super Kev was after Calder, Watkins dived on him and started unloading! He deserved the ass whooping he got in the re-match and even then he tried to jump him again. lol | Reply |

Stevens 24 fight reviews Mar 2, 2008 06:43 ET | Ryan Shmyr decisive win | Fun 5 |
| Shymr and Timmons are exchanging words and slashes infront of the coventry net then all of a sudden Clouts comes flying in but Shymr gets his hands up in time and knocks Clouts to the ice the gloves comes off as Clouts gets back up but Shmyr is waiting and starts to throw punches to Clouts head and body Shymr had a solid hold and kept forcing Clouts down. I must say the Linos left Shmyr to continue to punch Clouts while he was on the ice for quite a while. Clouts never had a chance in the fight as he never properly regained his feet following his run at Shmyr but the fight was defintatly fair as Clouts was the one who instigated it and recieved 2+5+10 for his troubles as well as a pasting. |
ek29 15 fight reviews Mar 2, 2008 08:33 ET | Ryan Shmyr decisive win | Fun 5 |
this is boarder line unfair but in a wierd situation.
shmyrs giving timmons a bit of stick off the play and i guess being short of D timmons didnt want to fight. im watching them because they went last time i was at the NIC and i see cloutier fling his gloves to the side, fly through the air and take shmyr out with a superman dive.
shmyrs got a massive height advantage and lands on the top before unloading on the face down cloutier with some 6 or 7 punches.
as cloutier got the instigator penalty and obviously wanted to fight you could say that it shouldnt be unfair. but if you got a guy facedown on the ice he cant really defend himself. i guess i would say that though as a coventry fan. |
NickThePanther 96 fight reviews Apr 12, 2008 05:22 ET | Ryan Shmyr decisive win | Fun 6 |
| Shmyr wants Timmons and whilst there talking Cloutier comes steaming in, at the last second Shmyr sees him and readies himself. They collide and it's all Shmyr, using his strength to hold Cloutier down and hitting him with shots. Cloutier has no way out and turtles whilst Shmyr keeps laying into him |

Stevens Mar 2, 2008 10:03 ET | Agreed ek29, which is why i was suprised the linos let Ryan carry on for as long as they did.
Anyone got the videos of the fights? as ek29 says this was Ol'time Hockey | Reply |

Devils61 6 fight reviews Mar 2, 2008 08:44 ET | Both got roughing penalties although in my opinion Huppe didnt deserve a roughing as no contact occured, however Neilson did give a few swipes at Hupee, edging him to drop em. | Fun 1 |

NickThePanther Apr 12, 2008 05:26 ET | Huppe had slashed Neilson and he isn't happy, the play stops and Neilson goes up to Huppe shaking his gloves. Huppe does nothing so Neilson glove punches him trying to make him go but he just backs down.
Neilson also offered Timmons later in the game | Reply |

| Cowley slashes Pelts they drop the gloves Pelts gets a few body shots in they both grab hold and fall to the ice. I gave it a Pelts win as he was the only one who landed anything, Apologies for the short review but thats literally all that happened |
Devils61 6 fight reviews Mar 2, 2008 08:36 ET | Draw | Fun 3 |
Reviewing this on an even keale seeing asthough i was only down at the NIC for a one off , im going to have to say a draw. Reason being Pelletier had the better in the short bout, however Cowley did bring Steve to the ice.
So concluding, Pelletier got the better to begin, but all credit to Cowley for the take down. For a player who isnt on the team to grind, he definetly had a good show up for this one. |
ek29 15 fight reviews Mar 2, 2008 08:36 ET | Russ Cowley narrow win | Fun 4 |
cowleys against the boards and dumps the puck in pelletier hits him late they slash sticks and drop the gloves. its a short affair. pelletier throws about 5 punches that catch helmet and cowley lands 2 that hit face. cowley gets a takedown and as theyre wrestling on the ice lands 3 or 4 more punches to the side of pelletiers head.
id give it cowley because of the takedown and the shots on the ice. even though pelletier was more active when they were on their skates |

| Pelts lands about 4 or 5 unanwserd jabs!! Cowley comes back with one!! both fall!! Cowley only looked intrested when they had fallen to the ice!! |
