Bob Probert decisive win Fun
1
Somehow goal scorer Ed Olczyk gets tangled up with Bob Probert, one of the premier tough guys in the NHL. The smaller Olczyk is in way over his head. Probert seems reluctant to fight Olczyk but he does drop his gloves and Olczyk immediately drops to the ice and covers up. One of the Toronto players tries to jump in but he is held off by Mike O'Connell. However Probert falls on top of the fallen Olczyk and all of the rest of the players converge. The result is a massive pileup in the corner.

Even though neither player threw a punch, I'm giving Probert a decisive win here. Olczyk was in trouble as he dropped to the ice and turtled. Since he turtled, Probert gets the decisive victory.

This big scrum happened right after Probert knocked Olczyk down. Not good camera's work. Fun

John Kordic narrow win
Fight called Unfair by re on May 18, 2007
Reason: Too much interference by the refs
 Fun
2
John Kordic and Bob Probert drop the gloves and have a long square off with Probert moving in on Kordic who continually backs up. Both try to grab on but neither gets a hold of each other and when they finally do secure a grip on the other's jersey, the linesmen get in and break it up. Kordic throws two lefts and lands one as Probert misses a left. Kordic then throws seven lefts over the linesmen at Probert, landing three as Probert misses a left and a right before they're both restrained. Kordic landed more punches but they were after the linesmen stepped in to break it up. Obviously unfair fight with the interference by the linesmen.

They drop em' and have a long squareoff, waiting for the right itme to move in. Probert finally moves in with one hand and grabs Kordic with his left, but then the linesman come in and Kordic throws 9 lefts, all hitting Probert in the back of the helmet. Probert throws a short right that grazes Kordic's face.

They had a long squareoff and when they finally grabbed each other, the damn refs decided to jump in. Kordic threw some punches over the refs.

Long squareoff and the linesmen come in, Kordic tries to through a couple but never the less it was a huge dissapointment.

Kordic wanted nothing to with Probert in this one. He kept backing up and blocking any attempt by Probert to grab his jersey and start the fight. Very disapointing. Kordic remains one of my favourites, but certainly not a highlight of his otherwise great career as a brawler.

After a lengthy square off these two grab on and then the linesmen jump in. Kordic fires some quick rights over the linesmen as Probert's tied up.

Pitiful performance by Kordic who just keeps backing up and won't engage with Probert till the linesmen move in then he throws a couple to Proberts helmet, draw.

Really disappointing fight here if you could call it that, Kordic looked timid for some reason here as if he never fought before, shame because this could have been a good fight.

It's a damn shame these two late, great warriors only met up this one time.
Can you imagine a battle where they went toe-2-toe and the officials stayed out of it? It might have been a Fight Of The Year candidate.

I know, that was really strange to see. John Kordic was usually a fearless maniac in all of his fights, but he looked extremely nervous and cautious as he squared off with Probert here. Probert got in his head somehow.Reply

To be fair, wasn't this near the time when Probie got caught with a bunch of coke at the airport. He was like "Superfly" early in his career.

Both men were hoovering up mountains of that stuff back in the 80s. Probert got busted at the border, trying to go over the bridge from Canada to the US (or vice versa) and was searched. He had a bag of blow in his undershorts.

Kordic had a DUI or two, but never got caught with drugs by the authorities. Maybe if he had been busted by the law (like Probert was), he'd have straightened out for a while. Team-mandated stays in rehab didn't work for Kordic; perhaps a court-ordered rehab stint would have worked. Who knows?
