They pushed each other and they fell down to the ice (the gloves came off late here). The refs jumped in before anything could happen. Draw, not 5 minute worthy.

They both fall to the ice as they are dropping the gloves, wrestle on the ice for a bit and it's done, draw in a non fight.

Draw Fun

Bob Probert runs into fellow enforcer Mick Vukota in the corner. Vukota turns to go back at Probert who is ready for him and they drop the gloves. However Vukota immediately drops his head and he goes for Probert's legs. Vukota grabs Probert by the legs and takes him down with his customary move. The officials are in there quickly to separate the two men. Obviously this is a draw as the two fell as soon as they dropped the gloves, thanks to Vukota's take down maneuver.

Fights like this provide an example of why some hockey fans dislike Vukota. He was certainly a very willing fighter who fought a ton over his lengthy NHL career. However Vukota was prone to bailing on fights, especially when he was facing a superior opponent like Probert or Dave Brown. This led to some people to lose respect for Mick the Quick.

Personally I dislike Vukota's tactic but I give him credit for being a willing fighter with a strong fight card over his career. It is just unfortunate that he was prone to bailing on more than a few occasions. In certain fights it seemed like Vukota dropped the gloves because it was expected of him, yet he wanted nothing to do with actually fighting. He wanted to be seen doing his job without actually performing it.

I can understand his reluctance to engage in a fight with someone like Probert or Brown, but he would have earned more respect for standing in there like a man and trading punches with his opponent. Instead Vukota loses some credibility as he looked like he wanted nothing to do with Probert here, and he immediately tried to end the fight.

Bob Probert comes down with a hit on Mick Vukota in the corner and they drop the gloves after. Vukota just gets in tight though and grabs Probert's leg, lifting it up off the ice and scoring the takedown on Probert. The linesmen stop the scrap immediately. A draw in an extremely bad fight. Probert was an often scratch this season, having troubles with the team and being suspended by them on multiple occasions. Shortly after this game though Probert ran into serious trouble when he was caught with illegal substances trying to cross the border of the U.S.A. and Canada.

Not twenty-four hours after this Rough, on March 2nd, Probie was arrested and sent to prison. He served 3 months in a prison in Rochester and was later transfered to a prison near-by Detroit where he had to serve another 6 months.
All this because of the whole cocain-deal of course.

He was reinstated to NHL on March 9, 1990. He returned to NHL action, making his 1989-90 season debut in Detroit's March 22, 1990, game vs. Minnesota, and he scored Detroit's lone goal in a 5-1 loss.Reply

Rick Zombo win by TKO Fun
10
After holding each other beside the net, Flatley throws a sucker punch from the side which luckly only grazes Zombo. Zombo then retaliates with a huge elbow right to Flatleys head and he's stunned from this shot no doubt! Flately gets himself together then skates after Zombo once again, then boom!!,,,,,Zombo lands the only 2 shots in the fight, 2nd punch putting Flatley to the ice. Zombo then proceeds to throw a few more to the back Pat's head before the linesmen get in there. TKO win for Zombo, although Flatley got right back up!

Quick but eventful fight with Zombo landing a hard shot that causes Flatley to fall to the ice at which point Zombo lands some hard shots on the grounded Flatley who can only cover up and wait for help.

Joey Kocur win by TKO Fun
6
Pilon checked Kocur along the boards. The hit appeared to be clean, but Joey didn't like it. The two were swapping punches along the boards. Kocur landed a pretty good overhand right. Rich missed a couple of rights as he couldn't break free from Joey's strong grip on the right arm. Kocur landed a good left hook on the temple and Pilon dropped to the ice. Immediately, Rich stuck his head in his lap on the ice.

I rate this as a TKO win for Kocur. The knockdown blow was a good one. Pilon's posture after getting dropped was that of a man that was hurt. He tugged vigorously on Joey's jersey on the way down. This was because he kept his grip after getting dropped. This is another telltale sign of a man who suffered a stoppage loss.

TKO Kocur.

Looked like Kocur dropped Pilon with a left, but Pilon could have bailed as well. But I'll go with a knockdown win for Kocur.

Pilon is doing his best to tie up Kocur but he frees his left and drops Pilon to the ice with a nice shot.

When you watch in slo mo it really looks like Kocur lands a MMA style elbow as he follows through with the punch, nice and legal move in a hockey fight.Reply
