Tom Kurvers gives Gaeten Duchesne a slash to the ankle as Duchesne skates away. Duchesne goes to the ice and grabs his ankle, unable to get up. Cheap play by Kurvers. Emotion

Jon Casey steps behind the net to rim the puck around the boards but John Kordic is forechecking and decides to go right into Casey. Kordic gets his shoulder right into Casey's side, bowling him over and Kordic goes right into Mark Tinordi afterwards as Tinordi's right behind Casey. Tinordi grabs Kordic and Shawn Chambers turns back and grabs Kordic as well. Decent hit by Kordic which sparked a small brawl that lead to a couple of different fights. Fun

After John Kordic hits Jon Casey, both defensemen on the ice, Mark Tinordi and Shawn Chambers grab hold of Kordic. Kordic ducks his head while facing Tinordi and drops the gloves but Tinordi doesn't and just holds Kordic's head down as more players get in. John McIntyre heads after Chambers but doesn't get a hold of him and is then grabbed by Bob Brooke. Dan Daoust also comes in but Chambers turns around and pairs off with Daoust, keeping him away from Tinordi. David Mackey then comes in from the other side of the net and drops the gloves while grabbing Kordic from behind. Rob Ramage notices and grabs Mackey to pull him off of Kordic. Mackey turns his attention to Ramage who then drops the gloves while away from them, Daoust wrestles Chambers to the ice. Mackey and Ramage grapple around for a while as the linesmen break up Kordic from Tinordi. Then Makey and Ramage get going more so but it's Mackey who throws all the punches and gets Ramage down in the end. Daoust and Chambers then get up and Chambers wants to go but Toff Gill comes in and tries to interfere despite being held by Perry Berezan. Kordic reengages with Tinordi as the linesmen break up Mackey and Ramage. Then it's McIntyre and Brooke who start grappling around but they don't throw punches until a linesman gets between them to break it up. Chambers gets set to throw on Daoust but never does and then when Daoust jostles Chambers a little bit, a linesman comes in. Chambers wants to continue the altercation and they spin around trying to get away from the linesman as Daoust finally gets away from Chambers. Daoust gets up and tries to get back at Chambers but the linesman pulls Daoust away. Long line brawl with everyone on the ice getting involved. There wasn't too much action though since the linesmen kept the two big heavyweights, Kordic and Tinordi apart intially. Mackey and Ramage did have a fight while Brooke and McIntyre along with Chambers and Daoust all got into it but nothing much came from those skirmishes. Fun

Draw Fun
1
As other players are tangled up with each other, behind the net John McInytre and Bob Brooke have paired off. Both have the gloves off and are watching Shawn Chambers and Dan Daoust jostle around when suddently Brooke shoves McIntyre backward towards the net. McIntyre gets bent over awkwardly and is pressed against the net by Brooke who then lets up. McInytre wrestles Brooke backward and gets off the net before getting a forearm up into Brooke's face. Brooke backs into the boards and then a linesman reaches between them. McIntyre tries to get to Brooke over the linesman with a badly missing left and then Brooke reaches around the linesmand and lands a left that bloodies McIntyre's nose. Brooke and McIntyre then quit and get broken up. Nothing much here, just some grappling and one punch thrown over the linesman by both. McIntyre's missed but Brooke's landed and gave McIntyre a bloody nose. Still, it came when a linesman was between them so I'll call this a draw in an awful fight that was just grappling and didn't last long at all.

Crap fight. Pretty much all wrestling. I don't think a single punch was thrown until linesman stepped between them and both threw a punch or two over him. McIntyre's nose was bleeding, so I guess Brooke landed one over the linesman.

Started with some wrestling, then Mackey got his hand free and started firing punches and Ramage went down. Not a knockdown or anything but definitely a win for Mackey.

Starts out all grappling, then Mackey gets his right free and throws about 6 rights. Ramage didn't throw a single punch.

Mackey missed part of the 89-90 season with torn ligaments in his right thumb, an injury suffered during this rough. He did not return to the North Stars lineup until late November and did not play until Minnesota's Dec. 14, 1989, game vs. Pittsburgh.Reply

This was clearly a fight and Mackey pretty much hammered Ramage. Does anyone know what the penalties were? They had to get fighting majors hereReply

I know they did not get majors, if I am remembering properly it was misconducts for both, but I don't have access to this summary anymore.Reply

Shawn Chambers and Dan Daoust have paired off in the line brawl and after watching the David Mackey and Rob Ramage fight, Chambers gets set to throw with his left hand. Daoust doesn't want to fight though and so Todd Gill comes in and gets between them with Perry Berezan holding onto Gill. Berezan eventually wrestles Gill away and Chambers resets, ready to throw his right hand but Daoust still doesn't want to go. Chambers jostles Daoust a little bit to try to get him to go but Daoust continues to refuse. A linesman gets to them and tries to settle things. That doesn't work so the linesman steps back and gives them room. Chambers again gets set to go but never throws a punch, though he fakes throwing a couple of times. Daoust just holds on but then a linesman comes in and Daoust prods Chambers slightly. Chambers is upset and wants to go, spinning around with Daoust to try to stay away from the linesman but the other linesman gets there. Daoust pulls away from Chambers and goes down but then bounces back up and takes a step toward Chambers before being pulled back by a linesman. This was a long skirmish but no punches were thrown. Chambers was definitely more ready to go while Daoust was hesitant and wanted no part of a fight here but still, Chambers didn't throw any punches. Fun

This was pathetic. They had a hold of each other during this brawl and they just wrestled around. But once the linesmen finally came in and got between them they suddenly acted like they really wanted to go. Fun

Gary Leeman is racing for a loose puck behind Curt Giles and gives him a slight push in the back. It's not a big check but Giles can't keep his footing and goes careening awkwardly into the boards. Giles stays down after the collision while Gaetan Duchesne goes after Leeman. Duchesne and Leeman drop their gloves and grab hold of each other but they wrestle down to the ice immediately. Leeman gets on top of Duchesne as a linesman pounces in on top of them to make sure it goes no further. Fun

Stewart Gavin is bodied by Tom Kurvers while trying to get into a puck battle along the boards. Gavin takes exception to the shoulder from Kurvers and shoves him back while Kurvers drops the gloves. Kurvers grabs onto Gavin and misses a right while Gavin grabs at Kurvers' head with the linesmen hurrying in between them. Kurvers misses two more rights over the linesmen but the linesmen settle things and break them up. Fun
