Awful fight. Ewen threw the only punch, an uppercut but I think it only landed on the body. Mallette just held on for dear life and was trying to trip Ewen, but it was Mallette who ended up falling down on his back. Almost want to give the edge to Ewen for at least trying to fight, but I think this one falls into the category of draw in a shit fight.

Troy Mallette knocked down Todd Ewen with a stiff shoulder to the body and Ewen went back at Mallette but Mallette ducks and Ewen fell over top. They get up and face each other before losing the gloves. They grab on and Mallette gets in tight on Ewen. Ewen throws two rights and lands one weakly as they wrestle and fails with an attempt at getting Mallette's helmet off, only dislodging it a little bit. Mallette just clings onto Ewen to stay in tight and ends up losing his balance while they wrestle. Ewen goes down on top of Mallette and the linesmen break it up. Draw in a very bad fight.

Shayne Corson clear win Fun
6
Corson won this fight with surprising ease. He simply took away King's potent right hand and as a result Kris was just missing with most of his attempts. Shayne landed several effective punches of his own.

King missed a punch. Shayne landed a solid blow and missed a shot. He landed a couple of decent blows and an average connect. He missed a punch. Kris missed several right hands.

Corson began to find the target with more regularity. He missed a punch and landed a couple of solid blows. He missed a punch and landed a solid connect. He missed a blow and landed an average punch. King landed a decent blow before the refs stopped the bout.

I rate this as a clear win for Corson. Shayne was an excellent fighter and won the bout with King in one-sided fashion. He landed several blows and did not get hit with much in return. It was a good technical performance.

Shayne Corson clear win Fun

Kris King goes after Shayne Corson with a high shove at the benches when Corson dumps the puck in and it leads to the two dropping the gloves. Corson misses a right but then lands a right while King grabs for Corson's helmet. King gets turned around and Corson misses four rights while King straightens himself. King misses a right and moves in closer on Corson. Corson throws two rights and lands one before King misses a right, then Corson misses a right. King misses a right while Corson lands a right and Corson lands another right after. King misses a right as Corson lands a right and King turns his head away as Corson lands a right again. King misses a right and puts his head down as Corson misses a right and then King misses another right. Corson throws four rights and lands three as King can't get his head up and just moves in closer on Corson again. King misses a right and grabs for Corson's helmet as they wrestle into the bench boards. The linesmen come in though and break up the scrap there, though it takes a while as neither Corson nor King want to let go of the other and continue to jostle for a while. All Corson as he landed a lot of rights and King didn't land any.

They go in front of MTL bench. Corson throws more and he lands some right hands to the head of King. King tried to respond with some right hands of his own, but I'm not sure if he landed a single punch. Easy win Corson and a poor showing by King.

This was actually a good tussle. Both threw rights but Corson got the edge as he had a reach advantage and was able to switch between overhand rights and uppercuts that caused problems for King, who did throw his share too. Def. win for Corson

At center ice, they drop the gloves. Corson & King grab on top one another. Corson lands 2 or 3 periodic facialpunches among his other attempted swings. King is mostly in defensive mode and I don't think he ever landed a facialpunch. Clear win for Corson.

Both are trading rights from mostly in close with Corson landing several blows, King throws a few but has problems landing anything, clear win Corson.

Chris Chelios narrow win Fun

Sandstrom was a poor fighter and Chelios took advantage of him here. The men went at it in the corner. Tomas was mostly holding. Chris missed two blows and landed an average connect. He missed a shot and landed a partial connect. He landed a decent left. He missed a left and landed an average right. Sandstrom hauled him down and the fight was over.

I rate this as a narrow win for Chelios. He landed a few moderately effective punches to earn the win.

Feisty players in Montreal Canadiens' defenseman, Chris Chelios and New York Rangers' winger, Tomas Sandstrom get tangled up in the corner and Chelios soon has his gloves off. They wrap their arms around each other in close quarters and wrestle around. Chelios throws six weak rights and lands three to the back of the helmet and head, then lands two weak lefts. Sandstrom then gets his gloves off and is wrestled against the glass by the smaller Chelios. Chelios lands a right to the side of the head and then lands a left to the side of head as Sandstrom gets off the glass. Sandstrom then wrestles Chelios to the ice and the linesmen enter in to break it up. Mostly just wrestling here. Dull fight. Edge to Chelios for throwing and landing the only punches.

Sandstrom with death grip pn Chelios, who at least tried a few rights and one left that at least hit Sandstrom on the side of the head. The Swede then slammed Chelios to the ice. Gotta give Chelly the edge for throwing the only punches, albeit weak ones.

In the corner , they start to grapple. Chelios attempts about 3 swings and lands about 2 short-traveled facialpunches. Sandstrom then shows a little strength and throws him down to the ice and that's when the refs rush in. Just about a narrow win for Chelios.

Chelios is the only one throwing anything landing to the back/side of the head, Sandstrom holds on the entire time but finishes the bout with a nice judo style takedown, this isn't mma so takedowns don't count and the win goes to Chelios based on aggression, throwing and landing the only blows.
