Darin Kimble win by TKO
Fight called Unfair by JimMcKenzie on Aug 18, 2006
Reason: Darin Kimble suckered Todd Ewen

Ewen was shoving a bit with Steven Finn. Kimble got the jump on Todd and started firing right hands. Ewen clearly wasn't ready for the barrage and was unable to fight back. Darin landed a partial connect, a pretty good blow, and a good shot that dumped Todd to the ice.

I rate this as a TKO for Kimble in an unfair fight. He jumped Ewen and nailed him with a couple of powerful rights. Todd didn't take kindly to the sneak attack and the two had a rematch later in the game.

Kimble jumps an unsuspecting Ewen and pops him with three big right hands. The first one landing on the forehead and the final two landing on Ewen's cheek; the third punch dropping him. TKO win to Kimble in an unfair fight.

Ewen elbowed Petit earlier and was mixing it up with Finn here. Kimble came over with his gloves dropped and just started hammering Ewen. Kimble landed three rights and dropped Ewen. Ewen never had a chance to fight back.

Steve Martinson clear win Fun

These two drop the gloves and start going. Martinson throws a few rights that don't land, then lands one to the back of the helmet. Martinson with a couple more rights that come up short. McRae answers with a right that lands and Martinson at the same time lands a decent right to the side of the head/helmet and then another decent right in a row. Both guys miss with a right and McRae lands a harmless shot to the back of the helmet. They're in close, McRae lands another harmless back of the helmet shot. They get some space between them and Martinson lands a decent right to the side of the face. Martinson lands another right to the back of the helmet and misses with an uppercut. Martinson lands a few more rights to the back of the helmet while McRae is holding on. Martinson lands one more weak back of the helmet shot and then they wrestle to the ice with Martinson on top. Both throw a punch when they're down before the linesmen jump in. Average fight at best IMO, Martinson clearly landed more punches and he definitely landed the better shots as well. Win Martinson.

Pretty rough scrum. Players acted and were motioning that they were about to fight, but they didn't. Richer and Gillies both get roughing minors. Fun

They drop the gloves during commercial, and when they returned they were done fighting. They both emerged bloodied. Martinson from the nose, and Marois from the nose and mouth. They never showed a good replay of the fight.

Darin Kimble narrow win Fun
6
Todd Ewen checks Joe Sakic into the boards from behind. Sakic is alright but Darin Kimble steps in and drops the gloves with Ewen. They grab on and immediately Ewen ducks as Kimble throws five rights, landing four. Ewen's helmet gets knocked off but he gets his head up and they wrestle. Kimble connects with two rights as Ewen ducks his head again and then they fall to their knees. Kimble gets up first and throws two rights, landing one but then falls down again. Ewen gets up and lands two lefts while Kimble gets up and then throws three rights, landing two. Kimble pauses and then misses a right. Ewen lands a right, Kimble misses a right, then Kimble misses two rights as Ewen misses two rights. Ewen throws two rights and lands one and Kimble misses a right after. Kimble almost goes down but stays on his skates although Ewen then lands a right and Kimble goes down. Ewen lands a right on the downed Kimble and then the linesmen jump in as Ewen wrestles Kimble down. Pretty good fight and mostly Kimble early and Ewen late. However Kimble landed more and better punches, having total control of the fight early when Ewen was totally idle. Ewen got in more and better punches late in the fight but Kimble was throwing back and it was more close that it was previously.

No way was this a draw. Ewen Smacks Sakic's head into the glass so Kimble comes over and they drop em. Right off the bat Kimble lands 4 hard rights to Ewen. Ewen then pushes Kimble towards the boards. Kimble lands 2 more punches and Ewen Falls to the ice. They get back up, and Ewen proceeds to throw his 1st punch of the fight. Kimble immediately responds with 3 rights. Kimble throws a short right that missed, then Ewen sets up and throws a big right that lands. Kimble responds with right that lands. They both then toe to toe throw 2 rights. None by either landing. Ewen then throws a right to Kimble's helmet, and he responds with a right that misses Ewen. Ewen throws a right to Kimble's side and knocks him off balance and he falls to the ice. The linesman then jumped in.

This was a good action bout. Kimble got off to a very strong start. He landed a solid blow and missed a couple of punches. He landed a partial connect and a couple of solid rights. Ewen had trouble getting his right hand loose and Darin leaned heavily on the back of his neck and they slipped to the ice.

The men got up and Darin landed a solid blow. Ewen landed an average left. Kimble missed a right, landed an average connect, and landed a decent blow. Todd finally got his potent right arm loose and rallied down the stretch. He landed an average blow, a solid connect, and an average blow. Kimble landed an average shot and began to lose his balance. He fell to the ice and Ewen landed a final blow with solid pop.

I rate this as a narrow win for Kimble. I think he landed more power shots early in the fight and the lead he built up was substantial. Ewen had a nice rally at the end, but it wasn't enough to salvage a draw or make up for taking a lot of punches over the first half of the fight.

At first it was all Kimble but Ewen came back strong. It could be a TKO win for Ewen as well because Kimble went down after a right from Ewen (unfortunatley you can't see on that angle if Ewen's punch landed on Kimble's head).

After a big hit on Sakic I'm guessing by Ewen (you can't quite see it on the clip), Kimble with a slight jump engages with him inside the Quebec zone circle and feeding him rights he has the upper hand on Ewen who is bowed down and even drops to his knees but then regroups and comes back with a vengeance unloading some furious rights on the surprised Kimble whose own rights are now coming up short as he probably thought he'd already won the fight and Ewen puts him down with a few final blows to earn hard the draw in this pretty righteous scrap.

Great heavyweight tilt. Kimble dominated about 3/4 of the fight, Ewen came back nicely in the end and landed a couple good shots of his own and cut Kimble around his left eye. But still I think this was at least a narrow win for Kimble.

Begins when Ewen hits one of the Nordiques at the boards. Kimble then immediately hooks up with Ewen in a small battle. Kimble is launching a bunch of swings and 2 of these facially connect while Ewen is bent over at the waist. Ewen then straightens up and answers back with 2 facialpunches of his own. Kimble then responds to that with 1 facialpunch. Ewen then grapples for a second, immediately followed by a helmetpunch, and then pulling Kimble down to the ice. There's no telling if this helmetpunch had any effect, so it would be unfair to count it in the evaluation. Thus, this fight technically is a narrow win for Kimble.
