Kocur missed parts of the 89-90 season with strained ligaments in his left knee, an injury suffered in this game vs. Chicago.Reply

Bob Probert clear win Fun
6
As Greg Millen covers up the puck, Bob Probert and Bob McGill drop the gloves. Probert McGill and throws four rights, landing two with one knocking off McGill's helmet as McGill has trouble getting set. McGill gets in tight to Probert but he gains space between them and throws two rights, landing one. McGill then lands a right as Probert misses a right and McGill throws two rights, connecting with one with Probert landing a right after. Probert then misses a left as they spin and grapple. McGill tries to change his hold with the left but Probert throws three rights which prevent McGill from doing so. Probert lands two and then McGill uses the left to throw. McGill misses a left and then misses a left as Probert misses a right. They grapple and McGill misses two rights as he loses his hold of Probert again. McGill just leans away as Probert throws two rights, landing one before the referees come in and grab McGill. Probert throws another two rights and lands one before stopping. Okay heavyweight fight. Probert had control and landed more and better punches for the win in his first fight back from long suspension from the Detroit Red Wings following his troubles with the law from the previous season.

McGill, as always, fights whoever is in front of him and give his best. Probert just a bit too strong for him and clearly lands more and controls the tempo

I was fortunate enough to be at this game. I was 14 at the time and my grandfather took me and my younger brother to the game in Motor City Electric's (owned by Dale Wieczorek, my grandfather's bowling buddy) luxury suite (suite 75 at the time). It may not have been my first live hockey game, but it was absolutely my first in a luxury suite; I'll go into more detail on the suites and the Joe in a minute. The one thing that sticks out at me about that game was the crowd anticipation and subsequent eruption when Probert began to fight. The crowd was there for one thing and one thing only, and that was to see Bob Probert knock someone into next week. The eruption was like nothing I had heard, in person, before or since. Despite his blemish, we were behind him because he was fighting for us.

Now about the suites. The suites at the Joe are actually above the upper bowl which shows the age of the arena. Mr. Ilitch may want a new arena, and for good reason, but I have never been to another arena that the top row in the upper bowl were such great seats. For the "common" fan, there is no better building. However, the "common" fan doesn't pay the big bucks and pay the big bills, so I am sympathetic to the fact that the Joe is a bit on the old side. If they could design a building that could combine the money making elements that Mr. Ilitch is looking for, and still preserve the great seats that are the top row, upper bowl of the Joe, I would endorse it in a heart beat. It would be a triumph of engineering if you could do both of the above and increase the capacity to the highest in the NHL. But, I guess that is an engineers dream. Long live the Joe, God Bless Bob Probert and keep him out of trouble, and Go Detroit Red Wings, your city needs you.

Right off the faceoff. Lemieux is quicker to drop the gloves and he gets in two good rights that put McKay to the ice. Lemieux throws a few more rights at McKay who then gets back up. But after that Lemieux doesn't seem interested at all, he's just holding on. McKay throws some rights to the back of his head, then lands a good uppercut. Some more wrestling and linesmen jump in. Lemieux got off to a great start, but McKay came back enough for a draw.

right off the draw, Lemieux starts tossing them at McKay who is off balance, but he regains it and seems to be landing better. I have to give the very slight edge to McKay here

Gallant and Brown are really whacking other with the sticks and the gloves go flying.
This is a typical Gerard Gallant fight: Angry, furious, extremely intense.......close range grappling and hugging

Brown high sticks/ cross checks gallant as he approaches gallant and gallant re-acts by slashing him in the upper shoulder or lower neck ... and then they hug in but then the video truncates. N/A is appropriate here.
