Craig Berube narrow win Fun
4
Marty McSorley and Craig Berube meet up with each other during a stoppage in play and McSorley initiates some contact with Berube that quickly escalates into a fight. They flail at each other trying to grab on but Berube backs away from McSorley so they square off. McSorley wastes no time coming in though and they grab on in tight where they wrestle briefly. McSorley misses a right as they get some separation from each other and Berube misses a right. They spin around and McSorley misses a right before they miss rights simultaneously. McSorley works on adjusting his hold afterwards while Berube misses a right with McSorley leaning away. McSorley misses a right and after a brief pause, Berube misses two rights and gets pulled in tight by McSorley afterwards. They take another brief pause and then McSorley lands a right before they again miss rights simultaneously. McSorley misses two rights and then Berube throws two rights and lands one as McSorley falls to the ice. Berube misses a right while on top of McSorley on the ice but the officials get in there and break them up. Slight edge to Berube for landing better than McSorley but this fight didn't really get going. Both guys tried throwing but they each had a good hold on the other's arm and it prevented almost every punch from getting through. Neither really tried to be too aggressive, choosing to focus on defense and keep from getting hit instead of opening up and letting punches fly.

Craig Berube clear win Fun

The gloves drop and Berube and McSorley immediately go after each other. After a lot of clutching and grabbing Berube gets a big right through although it's hard to tell if it lands. More clutching ensues with some missed punches and the next big right Berube sends definitely hits, and McSorley is sent to the ice. Granted, not many punches were landed or thrown in this one but the ones that were hit with a lot of force and did enough damage to call this a clear win for Berube. McSorley was covering up as they went down when the linesmen broke it up, but I can't call it decisive because I can't say that he was defenseless, although I think it's a lot closer to a decisive Berube victory than it is a narrow win.

This was a marquee matchup between the Chief and McSorley. These were two of the best fighters in the NHL. Marty missed a left, landed a solid right hook, and missed a punch. Berube landed a solid right and missed a punch. Marty landed a solid right. Craig landed a solid uppercut and a good right hand that rocked McSorley. Marty landed an average blow. Craig landed a pretty good shot and a good shot. McSorley missed a few punches and slipped to the ice.

I rate this as a clear win for Berube. Craig put some real hurt on him in this fight. He landed some damaging blows down the stretch. I don't think it was a TKO because it appeared that Marty was losing his balance before the last punch landed. Still, The Chief beat him up in a most impressive fashion.

Extremely overrated fight IMO. It might look good when you watch a YouTube video and it's very hard to really see if the punches are landing. I have it on DVD and watched it many times in slow-mo and almost all the punches were missing and coming up short, looked to me they only landed one punch each. Berube's right in the middle part of the fight that looks pretty good missed, McSorley landed a harmless shot to the helmet towards the end and Berube landed one half decent right to the head/helmet in the end before McSorley slipped and went down. Slight edge Berube.

The two meet at center ice and drom them. A lot of hugging at first then Berube gets free and lands a couple shots. Finally Berube wrestles Marty down to the ice.

The only two punches that land are by Berube and both were good.

They dance around, clutch and grab a little. They also mix some exchanges of rights. Berube misses a big right narrowly and lands a big one. McSorley is trading punches evenly but don't hit as cleanly.

Mcsorley lands 2 facial punches that includes one uppercut in the first half of the fight while Berube never connected during the first half. Then the 2nd half of the battle sees Berube both tie up Mcsorley's punching arm while landing 2 marginally-connected facial punches & then 1 regular-connected facial punch in on Mcsorley. Berube finishes up well while Mcsorley did not, thus, draw to narrow win for Berube.
