Sullivan and Leclerc push and shove for a decent amount of time before they finally went at it.
The whole fight is quick and uneventful. Looks like Leclerc misses with his first blow before Sullivan takes over and lands some short punches on the body. Sullivan tries to get in a good position but before he could do anything with it, Leclerc falls down and Sullivan follows him shortly after. Sullivan then throws another one while they are down but it has nothing behind it. Leclerc is pissed and he decides to return the favor so the linesmen had a hard time separating the two fighters. Meanwhile a small scrum starts but the peace is restored eventually.
Another more show than go type of fight. Nothing significant lands, Sullivan might be more active but the fight was garbage.
For me this is a draw. |

zolika 1739 fight reviews 74 fight logs Jul 9, 2012 13:38 ET | Right after the fight there are several players who started to mix in it up near the glasses. These two are away from the others so they dropped the mitts and are squaring off. As soon as they grab on Johnstone starts talking to somebody and Coursol doesn't like it. He pushes him against the boards and even tries to punch him, but Johnstone blocks the attempt. The linesmen quickly rushes in after that. Coursol had some choice words for Johnstone, who was not interested at all.
This is a borderline fight, but I would say there wasn't enough action to call it a scrap. There was one point where they might actually go, but it quickly calmed down. | Fun 2 |

A really good fight takes place here as Royer challenges Sullivan for a long time before they go.
The beginning of the fight is just a cautious exchange, a lot of short punches are thrown before they grapple. Not much lands before Sullivan lands a pretty good right, which probably hit only the visor of Royer. He responds with two good lefts, which landed on the face/visor of Sullivan. Jeff then takes over, lands one on the jaw area and puts Royer off-balance. He is on his knees now and Sullivan throws fast punches at him, connecting on the side of the head most of the time. Then they grapple, a back and forth action starts where Sullivan lands one across of Royer's face, who returns fire with uppercuts and short punches on the helmet. Royer is clearly more active now and fires another half dozen left uppercuts before pulling the exhausted Sullivan down. He adds one more left and the fight is over.
A very good fight with a lot of action. The early part goes to Sullivan who scored with a knockdown, but Royer came back hard and gets the decision.
It was definitely one of the better fights from the QMJHL this year. |
