Patrik Lostedt narrow win Fun
3
Before in the season, Pikkarainen had injured Blues-player Miika Huczkowski with a cheap hit. Lostedt wants revenge, and as the game starts, Lostedt drops his gloves and goes after Pikkarainen. As Lostedt grabs him, Pikkarainen loses his gloves too.

Lostedt gives a few weak rights that seem to land, and Pikkarainen goes to his knees. Then Pikkarainen grabs Lostedt's feet and tries to pull him down, but they both fall sideways to the ice. Linesmen separated them and Lostedt was thrown out. Pikkarainen only got 10 minutes and he scored and assisted a goal afterwards in the game, completing a Gordie Howe- hattrick.

I'll give a narrow win for Lostedt for landing the only punches.

Patrik Lostedt clear win Fun

In an earlier game this pair played, Ilkka Pikkarainen dropped and injured Miika Huczkowski of Blues with a vicious hit (boarding).

So it's clear that the whole Blues team is going to be after Pikkarainen in this game and it wouldn't be long a confrontation would happen.

It's the opening face off and Lostedt is facing Pikkarainen in the same wing. The puck goes to the other wing and Pikkarainen starts moving there and simultaneously Lostedt drops his gloves and wants retaliation. Pikkarainen doesn't notice this (or chooses to ignore it), but Lostedt doesn't care and jumps Pikkarainen from behind, hitting him twice. Pikkarainen stumbles on his feet, goes to his knees, turns around and at that same moment the ref's jump in as well. In the end Pikkarainen wrestles Lostedt down and that's it. I think this one is definately unfair, Lostedt jumped the gun.

This was also a record for Lostedt. It's the quickest (at 00:03) any player has ever been ejected from the game in the FEL.

Lostedt wants some revenge and starts a fight against Pikkarainen straight from the faceoff. He connects with one or two punches and they fall down on ice. Then the refs step in and stop the bout.

This one ended as fast it started and Pikkarainen couldn't get any punches in. He just wrestled and that why he got only 10 minute misconduct. This bout could be called unfair fight cause Pikkarainen didn't fight back.

Great thing that Lostedt did a new FEL-record! The fastest match penalty ever.

The teams are lined up for the opening face off. As the puck is dropped Lostedt drops his gloves and goes after Pikkarainen who tries to get away. Lostedt grabs Pikkarainen, throws one punch and Pikkarainen goes down to knees. Then Lostedt punches Pikkarainen again. Then Pikkarainen tries to get up and they both fall down. Then the linesmen rush in and the fight is over. Pikkarainen never threw a single punch

The fight ended quite soon after it had started. Lostedt threw two or three punches and after that Pikkarainen decided to end the fight by pulling Lostedt down from back of his knees.

If someone drops the gloves at finnish league game at 0:03 in the opening face-off it's worth watching the game just for the fight!

Clear win Lostedt haha, he throws what, one weak punch that looks to hit Pikkarainen's shoulder, then Pikkarainen tackles him, nothing fight.

Ilkka "Kilppari" Pikkaraista taas "parhaimmillaan". Lostedt sanoo, että nyt mennään, mutta mitä tekeekään Pikkarainen? Heittää tietysti kilpparit.

What? A fight in FEL right after the first faceoff... this is really unusual.

I'd like to think this should be called unfair because Pikkarainen (as usual) shows no intention to fight back. But in all he just got what he's been asking.Reply

I think it is unfair because Lostedt jumped Pikkarainen. No other reason needed.Reply

This whole thing got ridiculous. Lostedt got suspended for 3 games, Melart and Rajamäki for 2 games, Blues was fined for 10 000 Euros and HIFK for 5 000 Euros. Fuck you SM-liiga!Reply

Also HIFK's coach Kari Jalonen got warned for accusing that Blues coach Petri Matikainen had ordered Lostedt to fight Pikkarainen.Reply

Pikkarainen knew what was coming and dropped his gloves. He said it himself at the interview after the game.

As the puck drops on the face off at the center ice, they drop the gloves and go straight after each other. They grab, and Melart tries to throw some lefts but they miss, then Rajamäki answers with two rights, the second one maybe slightly connecting Melart's visor. At this point Melart managed to get Rajamäki's helmet off. As Rajamäki loses his helmet, they stumble and almost fall to the ice. Luckily they manage to keep their balance and the fight continues.

Rajamäki pushes Melart to the boards, and Melart throws a right that misses. Then they wrestle for a while, as they are tied up, Melart tries to throw some weak rights, some landing on Rajamäki's forehead, and one to the body, after them he throws a left that misses. His punches probably didn't do any kind of damage. Rajamäki answers them with a right that connects on Melart's helmet, they wrestle for a bit and the linesmen jump in and separate them.

Melart was bleeding heavily after the fight, I think it's the visor or Rajamäki's elbow that made it, because Rajamäki didn't land any clear punches on his face.

I think it's a draw. No effective punches landing and it was mostly wrestling.

These two decide to drop the gloves in the heated first period. Rajamäki starts out strong, landing on a couple of hits. After this Melart kicks in and throws three, landing on two of them. But neither is lethal. After that they grapple and hold each other tight. Melart gets his other hand free and throws a couple of weak one's which Rajamäki can't answer. But the hits have no power whatsoever. A clear draw as they were very equal in the fight. Rajamäki's hits have more power, and Melart landed more.

Melart was bleeding from the nose area after the fight, it seemed the other one of Rajamäki's punches hit him to the visor that started the bleeding.

Looked like Rajamäki landed a good one at the beginning that cut Melart badly. After that it was wrestling with Melart trying to come back with some pillow punches. Win Rajamäki for landing the only significant punch and doing some damage

Ei tuosta osaa sanoa kumpi oli voitokkaampi. Close contact wrestling mostly - hard to give an edge to either of them.

They drop the gloves right after the face off. No square off and they go start the action right away. They grab each other and they throw a few punches. Then they wrestle a bit and throw few weak punches. Melart was bloodied during the fight.

As there was not much landing I'll call this a draw but I have to that this was a good showing by the young guy Melart.
