Ken Baumgartner and Cam Russell are mucking it up in front of the Chicago net. They shove at each other as they stand nose to nose and bump. Out of nowhere, Bomber throws a gloved left hand that pops Russell right in the face. It wasn't a haymaker; it was a quick, short left that nonetheless had a lot of power behind it.

Russell is hurt and dazed by the shot. Bomber gets two for roughing. Later, Russell is sitting on the bench and can clearly be seen trying to get his eyes to refocus and shake off the cobwebs.

Ken Baumgartner clear win Fun
They fight behind the play. They grapple briefly and Russell misses with a right. They don't grapple for long as Russell misses with another right and Baumgartner catches him with 2 hard lefts. The 2 get in close and Russell tosses a few ineffective rights. Baumgartner manages to get in some lefts while they are in close quarters. Baumgartner misses with another left and Russell comes back and lands a hard right that surprises Baumgartner. Baumgartner comes back and lands another left and then misses with a few more as they get in a spin cycle. After missing with several Baumgartner decides he's finished and he lets go off Russell and skates to the penalty box.

Clear win to Bomber as he landed far more punches. Russell did land a very hard right but Baumgartner caught him with a strong left early so that evened them up in terms of harder punches.

Ken Baumgartner narrow win Fun
Cam Russell and Ken Baumgartner shed the mitts behind the play close to centre ice. Baumgartner grabs on with the right hand while Russell grabs on with the left hand and they open up immediately. Russell misses a right as Baumgartner misses a left and then they grapple for short time. They get free and Russell misses a right, then misses a right while Baumgartner lands a left. Baumgartner then lands a big left as Russell misses a right and gets turned around. Russell turns back to Baumgartner as he misses a left and then Baumgartner misses a left while Russell misses a right. Baumgartner gets in tight as Russell misses a right and they wrestle about. Russell gets his hand free and throws five rights, landing four as Baumgartner gets his left free. Baumgartner throws three lefts and lands two, then they open up again. Baumgartner misses a left while Russell lands a right and then Russell misses a right that's blocked by Baumgartner. They wrestle and then Baumgartner lands a left as Russell ducks under Baumgartner's arm. Russell then lands a big right and ducks while Baumgartner misses a left. Baumgartner lands a left and then misses a left as Russell misses a right and gets his head up. Russell switches hands lands a left while Baumgartner lands a left and Russell loses his grip of Baumgartner. Baumgartner starts spinning around and then throws four lefts, landing three before letting go of Russell and letting the fight stop there. A lot of punches thrown here and plenty landed as well. Baumgartner had the overall edge in the fight but Russell stood in there quite well.

Ken Baumgartner clear win Fun
This was a good fight. Russell was game as usual, but he took the brunt of the blows. Bomber missed a punch, landed a solid connect, and landed a pretty good left. Cam missed a blow, landed a partial connect, and missed a punch. He missed two right hands.

Ken missed a punch and landed a decent connect. Russell landed a decent blow, an average shot, and two decent right hands. Bomber landed two average punches and a decent left. Cam landed a decent blow and a solid right. Baumgartner missed a punch, landed a decent connect, and landed two average blows. Russell missed a punch and landed a solid left. Ken landed a solid connect, an average blow, and a solid punch. He missed a punch and landed an average shot. The refs stopped the fight.

I rate this as a clear win for Bomber. He landed more punches and with better pop. Russell landed several shots, but some of them were decent blows and partial connects. The punch count doesn't fully indicate the degree to which Bomber controlled the contest.

Good fight at center ice. Baumgartner landed more and better but Russell stood in there. In the end Baumgartner just let go of Russell when he was spinning Russell around and skated to the penaltybox. Weird ending to a fight.

Beauty of a bout, especially Bomber's exit is priceless as he just nonchalantly glides out of the spin cycle and to the box. Bomber did dominate here but Russell wouldn't budge much despite eating a lotta lefts early on.

Russell landed only one solid punch midway throught the fight. It stunned Baumgartner, but the Bomber dominated the majority of the scrap. The announcer said it best at one point with "Bomber's lefts are like jackhammers". Fighting southpaw for the majority of the fight, Baumgartner owned Russell. One of the funniest parts was the fight was the very end. Bomber had Russell spinning ... he missed his last big left ... and decided to let go and skate to the penalty box before the linesmen came in. What a beauty!
