 BattleshipRules 2433 fight reviews Jun 3 19:14 ET | Joe Paterson narrow win | Fun 7 |
Paterson and McSorley had an interesting contest. Marty landed an average right hand. Joe got off to a strong start in the fight. He landed an average left and a couple of solid connects. He landed a couple more solid blows and an average shot. He missed a right hand.
McSorley landed a couple partially connecting rights and missed a punch. Paterson landed a couple of partial connects. Marty missed a punch and landed an average blow. Joe landed a partial connect and a decent right. He landed a couple of ineffective raps. McSorley landed a decent punch and missed a couple of blows. He landed a couple of body punches before the men wrestled to the ice.
I rate this as a narrow win for Paterson. Joe got off to a very good start and landed several effective blows. Marty was very competitive over the last two thirds of the bout. He never caught up on the scorecard because he did not have a sustained rally that measured up to the spurt that Paterson had at the beginning of the fight. Joe landed more quality punches and earned the win. |
bradu 861 fight reviews Nov 1, 2006 17:22 ET | Joe Paterson clear win | Fun 5 |
| Paterson wins clearly, but in doing so throws some of the worst punches I've ever seen. He's bopping McSorely on the top of the helmet like that game you play at Chuck E Cheese where the little weasel sticks his head up and you hit it with the soft hammer. Marty doesn't get loose till the very end, and when he does they tumble. |
michiann 3444 fight reviews Dec 31 06:41 ET | Joe Paterson narrow win | Fun N/A |
| No doubt that Paterson was more active than McSorley in this fight. Starts off with Paterson landing about 4 facial-punches while keeping McSorley's head pinned downward by the jersey and then simultaneously lands about 3 head-punches. Mcsorley countered by only landing 2 or 3 facial-punches while most of his other swings were just helmet-punches (but helmet-punches are never counted by me in my evaluation). Then, Paterson yanks Mcsorley down to the ice. Narrow to clear win for Paterson. Since there was no beating here of anyone, it cannot be a clear win. |

lindenfan 304 fight reviews Sep 4, 2008 23:15 ET | Ugh. One of the most boring bench clearing brawls I have ever seen - it goes on for about 6 minutes, and I swear, I didn't see one punch thrown by anybody - just a lot of standing around and wrestling. Funniest part of the brawl was seeing Michel Dion, the Pens goalie, wrestle with his own goalie mask - that thing was huge! Its like it had a giant beak, or a snout, at the front end of it. Very comical.... | Fun 2 |

| This fight is part of a bench clearing "brawl" that started with a much better fight between Joe Patterson and McSorely. From what I can gather from the footage, this was the second fight leading to the benches clearing, and it looks like the linesmen tie Flockhart and Smith pretty early. There's some intense nastiness going on there, but no one lands anything of note that I can see, and they never get the opportunity to wrestle. Just talking to each other real mean and pulling at each other's jerseys. In fact, other than the excellent Patterson-McSorely tilt, I'm not even sure there's another real fight in this "brawl." |

no.7 May 23, 2007 04:49 ET | You can only add players to this year's rosters. I have to handle all other years myself. Normally, there's no need to add anyone to those years, provided our player stats are correct (the only exception being preseason games). This is an exceptional case where a player who didn't play a single game got into a fight. | Reply |
