SarcasticPillow 11276 fight reviews Jan 5 00:47 ET | Paul Holmgren narrow win | Fun 3 |
| Paul Holmgren gives John Barrett a couple of crosschecks, then they come together after a whistle and get the sticks up. They drop the gloves afterwards while grabbing onto each other and getting in tight from the get go. Barrett lands a right as Holmgren lands a left and then Barrett throws three rights after, landing one. Holmgren lands a right in return and keeps Barrett's head down. Then Holmgren lands a right and Barrett goes to his knees. As Barrett goes down he grabs Holmgren's ankle, taking him down but Holmgren manages to land two rights as he goes down underneath Barrett. The linesmen jump in and Holmgren lands a right before being restrained. Poor fight, it was over fast and didn't have too much punches thrown. Barrett got in a couple but then Holmgren got in some at the end and landed better than Barrett did. Slight win Holmgren in my book. |
BattleshipRules 2107 fight reviews Jan 31 11:26 ET | Paul Holmgren narrow win | Fun 4 |
Holmgren and Barrett squared off and swapped blows at close range. Paul missed a right and landed a partially connecting left. Barrett threw three right hands, two appeared to land as partial connects.
Holmgren landed a solid right and a partial connect. Barrett lost his balance and slid to the ice. He grabbed Holmgren's right foot and pulled Paul down to the ice. Holmgren landed a solid uppercut as the two were on the ice.
I rate this as a narrow win for Holmgren. He landed a couple of solid blows and a couple of partial connects. Barrett did manage a couple of decent connects, but Paul landed a couple more shots and with better pop. |

| Paul got in a couple nice shots at the end...sometime after this scrap a Red Wing gave Bobby Clarke an absolutely vicious high stick to the head - the stick broke! A violent end to the game. |

| Video starts with both guys just starting to grab onto one another to mix it up. Barrett strikes Holmgren with 1 good facial-punch but then Holmgren counters with 1 marginal facial-punch (because it was vaguely seen) followed by 3 clear facial-punches. Holmgren with the clear win. |

Jocke Jan 9, 2006 01:15 ET | Holmgren missed part of the 1983-84 season with a bruised left shoulder, an injury suffered while playing for Philadelphia in January 1984. He reinjured the shoulder while playing for Minnesota in March 1984 and required shoulder surgery on April 28, 1984, ending his season during the 1984 playoffs. | Reply |

 BattleshipRules 2107 fight reviews Jul 11, 2012 20:21 ET | Glen Cochrane narrow win | Fun 4 |
Glen Cochrane was one of the elite fighters of the early 1980's. On this occasion, he had a go with Reed Larson. Larson was scrappy, but he wasn't anywhere near the fighter Cochrane was. Reed was a terrific player with one of the best shots in NHL history. He was a guy who really couldn't compete in a fight with Glen.
Cochrane had gotten involved in a scrum along the boards. Larson grabbed a hold of him. Glen wasn't happy when Reed tried to pull him away from the action. Cochrane wrestled with Larson for a spell. Glen got Reed in a headlock with his left arm. He proceeded to throw some rights at Larson.
Glen landed a couple of light body blows. Then, he landed three decent rights to the side of Reed's head. Larson was in a bad position here. He tried to reach upwards with his right arm to grab Glen's left hand. He wanted to get loose from the head lock. Reed was unsuccessful. Cochrane landed two more decent rights to the head.
Larson realized that he would have a headache if he kept getting hit with the choppy punches along the boards. Reed was not in a position to land any blows of his own. He muscled Glen off of the boards and grabbed his shorts. He proceeded to take Cochrane down to the ice. Glen tried to get up a couple of times, but Reed continued to push him down. Finally, the refs came in and stopped the bout.
This was a narrow win for Cochrane. He landed five decent rights to the head in close quarters. He also landed a couple of mild body punches. Larson was not even able to get a punch off. The win was narrow because Glen did not get good leverage on his punches. He was not able to land any damaging blows. |

| Some bumping along the boards leads to this scrap. To much clutching and grabbing. Short rabbit punches by Cochrane then takedown by Larson. This scrap came several minutes after a Red Wing gave Bobby Clarke an absolutely vicious high stick to the head - the stick broke! A violent end to the game. |
Anthony19 2885 fight reviews Feb 16, 2006 23:04 ET | Glen Cochrane narrow win | Fun 5 |
| I liked this fight for some reason. Even though it was a wrestling match it was still kind of fun to watch. Larson is is dwarfed by Cochrane, Who gets off a couple punches early on, but Larson shows How strong he is, by throwing Glen to the ice. Larson then holds Cochrane in the gutwrench position, where he couldn't move. That was it. |

| Cochrane lands a few short punches and noogies as Larson just tries to hold on till they go to the ice and wrestle some before the linesmen jump in. |
