|These 5 players were arrested after getting into it with the fans.|
Bilodeau, Folco and Weir were already serving suspensions but got involved in the stands.

|The arrests were not related to anything concerning fans. Gilles Bilodeau and his teammate for the Jaros, future NHLer Wally Weir, were both watching the game from the stands because they were serving suspensions for various on-ice infractions. Something (I'm not sure what, perhaps the fight just a few seconds earlier??) pissed off Weir enough that he ran from his seat to shout at the Syracuse players from the stands. A policeman intervened and he and Weird started pushing and shoving. When another cop came to his aid, Bilodeau ran down to help Weir. Peter Folco followed suit. When other policemen began to converge, so too did some of the Beauce players on the ice who skated over to help. |
Bilodeau and the others were finally settled down by a healthy dose of mace. By the time it was all said and done, the two initially involved policemen were treated at the hospital for various abrasions and cuts from being hit with hockey sticks and punches. Bilodeau was charged with second-degree assault and resisting arrest. Weir and Folco were also charged as were 4 other Jaros.

|At some point later in the season, when Beauce and Syracuse were playing, Bilodeau cross checked the Syracuse goalie, I think it was Jacques Caron, in the back of the head. The blow caused a small break in the goalie's neck and resulted in another suspension for "Bad News"|
Unfortunately, I have been unable to pin down the exact game date. If I knew for certain, I would add it as an event.

|There is a small documentary about the Jaros tonight on RDS. They had Joe Hardy, Wally Weir and some other players/coaches on there and they talked about this incident, with pics of this. Great stuff!||Reply|
