Lee ran Sutter down, Brent and his brother both ended up going after Lee. Brent got to him first and they tumbled to the ice as all the other players joined in and pushed and shoved. Nothing fight.

Bourne got his gloves off a bit quicker than Lee and worked him over which caused all the other players to join in.

Out of a scrum they decide to go. Bourne gets the lefts free and unloads on Lee with a half dozen or so punches until Lees teamates jump in.

Baxter lands 6 unanswered punches that put Sutter down and out. Sutter didn't throw one. This is a borderline KO. Sutter definitely goes down and sorta flops to the ice with his head wobbling like he's really groggy, but he wasn't out cold. And there wasn't one clean KO punch, it was a series of clubbing shots to the side of the head in close.

The two have the gloves off and are tied up just outside the corner. From in close Baxter has the left free and lands 3 shots to the back and side of Sutter's head then gets Sutter off balance a bit and gets some space, then lands a big left flush on Sutter's jaw who goes down to ice ending the bout. The early lefts set up the big shot to the jaw for the TKO victory. |

The film clip that i have is a bit far away but not too far which means the view was not obscured ... its also camera-shot at ground level. Simple plot to this fight: baxter is just swinging away and connects on his final punch that puts sutter down to the ice. Sutter was not completely horizontal on the ice because his head was raised up while his upper torso was slightly raised also from off the ice, however, he strangely looked paralyzed from that punch while his eyes were still opened. To me, this is labeled as a simple KO since sutter looked paralyzed ... thus, he was clearly unable to continue. //////////////I was happy to see this because i always held a grudge against sutter for breaking pat hickey's jaw in a fight while hickey's jersey was wrapped over his head during a pre-season game ... the refs are a bit to blame also for stepping into that fight very late which allowed a dork like sutter to badly injure a near-excellant player like hickey. Note: i dont use this as a bias anytime i review a duane sutter fight.
