Jeremy Reich narrow win Fun
5
As the Islanders' goalie stops the puck a little scrum issues behind the net. This leads to a scrap between Jeremy Reich and Ronald Petrovicky. They drop the gloves and get in tight. Petrovicky breaks free and scores a good short right. Reich tries to return fire. He throws three punches but all shots look to miss. Petrovicky's right falls short as well and they hug for a bit. Reich gets his left loose and starts pounding on Petrovicky. He scores a couple of lefts while Petrovicky loses balance and falls to his knees. Reich lets him to get up and throws about five more blows, two of which connect with the helmet. Petrovicky loses his bucket and gets the takedown as Reich slips backwards to the ice. Ronald misses with a couple of rights before the officials come in.

Petrovicky landed one solid right in the beginning but couldn't really answer, when Reich went with his lefts. However, a lot of Reich's punches miss and hit the helmet, so I give him only the narrow win. Edge Reich in a decent scrap.

Jeremy Reich narrow win Fun

Ronald Petrovicky tried to fight Jon Sim in the opening minutes of the game but Sim refused. Now in the opening minutes of the second period a scrum around the New York Islanders' net begins after the play and Petrovicky pairs off with fellow tough guy, Jeremy Reich. They wrestle and Petrovicky lands a short right. Reich gets some separation then connects with a right of is own. Reich pauses then throws two rights and lands one. Petrovicky misses a right and wrestles with Reich who changes hands. Reich gets his left free and throws seven lefts, landing two, and pulling off Petrovicky's helmet. Petrovicky goes down at first but gets up and then misses a right. Reich falls down and Petrovicky misses two rights as the linesmen get in. Win Reich in a decent fight.

Reich and Petrovicky decided to go out of a scrum. Ronald landed a solid right. Jeremy landed a partial connect and missed a punch. He landed a body blow and an average punch. He missed a shot. Petrovicky missed a blow. Reich missed a punch and landed an average connect. He missed a blow and landed an average shot. Ronald missed a punch, landed an average blow, and missed a shot. Reich slipped to the ice and the refs stopped the contest.

I rate this as a narrow win for Reich. He landed more punches and they were moderately effective. Petrovicky landed a couple of blows and his first one had pop. I thought he was reasonably competitive in the bout.

All Reich in this one. He totally dominates Petrovicky, landed a few solid lefts. Petrovicky has no answer, and eventually wrestles Reich down. Clear win for Reich.

I have no idea what fight michiann was watching, but it definitely wasn't this one. Petrovicky didn't even throw a punch at the end, let alone land one that resulted in a TKO. His review is suspect, at best.

At the end, Petro not even landed a punch but in fact he did not even throw a punch.

Unbelievable call by Michiann, dare saying "This is fight fooled everybody"

Tim Jackman decisive win Fun
5
As the play stops these two tough guys shed the mitts and grab on. Jackman lands a weak right cross while Desbiens connects with a solid punch to the helmet. Jackman receives a grazing right and they start grappling. Desbiens goes with his left and scores a couple of good ones but once again both punches hit the bucket. Jackman responds with a right to the jaw along with one body shot. They grapple for a bit and Jackman falls short with his next punch. He gets a good grip of Guillaume's right arm and throws one good-looking uppercut but it completely misses. Desbiens scores a weak short right while Jackman punches the air with a wild left. Desbiens loses his helmet as Jackman puts the sweater over his head. Tim lands a huge right, which knocks Desbiens down to the ice. He falls to his knees as well but continues throwing and scores a couple more rights before the officials jump in.

Average fight. It was pretty even but then Jackman blinded Desbiens and fed him with some solid rights. Desbiens had some real troubles with his sweater and needed the referees' interference. I call this one a decisive win for Jackman due to this point.

Well after the whistle, Guillaume Desbiens gets into it with Tim Jackman and they lose the mitts and grab onto each other. Jackman just connects with a right and Desbiens glances a right off Jackman's helmet. Jackman then falls short with a right and Desbiens comes up short on right. Desbiens misses wide with a right and then gets in closer to Jackman. Desbiens stands back, switches hands, then lands a nice left. Desbiens grazes a left off Jackman's helmet and after some very breif grappling, Jackman misses low on a right. Desbiens turns his head away and leans away from Jackman who misses the target with two rights. Jackman then lands a right to the body and falls short on a right. They keep on grappling and Jackman comes up short with a right. Desbiens misses a right as Jackman switches hands and goes high with a left. Jackman then jerseys Desbiens and throws three rights, landing two which put Desbiens down. Desbiens gets right back up and Jackman goes down himself. The referees come in and split them up. Not a bad fight at all, not really eventful but it wasn't dull. Jackman with the win for landing more, controlling the fight, and knocking Desbiens down, although Desbiens got up.

Tim Jackman win by TKO Fun
N/A
The rookie Desbiens hooks up in a fight with the veteren Jackman. Desbiens starts out well as he lands 1 facial-punch. They grapple while keeping each other at a distance and that's when Jackman throws a couple of missed swings. Then Jackman lands 1 facial-punch while the jersey is wrapped over Desbiens' head which drops Desbiens to a knee and that's when the refs rush in to break up the fight, so this should count as a tko. Jackman then lands another head-punch, but its difficult to say if that punch occurred before or after the refs were involved.

Jeremy Reich narrow win Fun

Rick Rypien is kicked out of the faceoff and moves over to where Jeremy Reich is lined up. They both begin jostling and drop the gloves at puck drop. They come together without squaring off and Rypien starts off with two lefts, landing one. Reich leans away and Rypien then throws eight lefts and lands five while Reich throws three rights and lands two, then misses a left while leaning away from Rypien. Rypien throws two rights and lands one, then Reich throws off his helmet and throws three lefts and Rypien misses a left. Reich misses a left and Rypien misses a left. Reich misses two lefts as Rypien lands a left and then Reich misses two lefts. Rypien misses a left and Reich misses two lefts. They stand back and Rypien misses a left. Reich throws five lefts and lands four then Rypien misses a left. Reich misses a left and throws two jersey jabs with one landing. Rypien misses a left, Reich misses a left, and Reich throws two jersey jabs and lands one which knocks off Rypien's helmet. Reich lands a left and Rypien lands a left. Then as Rypien misses a left, Reich lands a left. Rypien covers up as Reich misses a left and the linesmen separate them as they stand back. Good fight, it was fairly close with Rypien doing better early but Reich coming on late. Reich did damage, cutting Rypien around the eye and gets the slight win. Entertaining fight with both guys swinging away from start to finish.

Jeremy Reich narrow win Fun

Jeremy Reich gets himself in a second altercation of the game. He goes at it with Rick Rypien of the faceoff near the Islanders' bench. Rypien starts very strong. He lands three unanswered lefts while Reich turns away. Jeremy starts answering as they have a short toe-to-toe exchange. Rypien connects with about three good shots while Reich responds with a couple of short rights and turns away again. Rypien lands two lefts and switches hands. Reich ducks his head and avoids one right. He takes off his own helmet and starts to return fire with the lefts. Rypien receives about three solid shots and answers with a couple of lefts to the jaw and to the head. They continue throwing wildly as Rypien connects with a short left. Reich responds with two blows, one of which connects with the helmet. Rypien takes one uppercut and answers with a grazing left to the back of the head. Reich starts firing some more lefts and scores about three unanswered shots in a row. Rypien responds with a couple of grazers to the head while Reich misses with an uppercut and throws a bunch of right jersey jabs, one of which knocks off the bucket. Rypien receives a couple of solid lefts and responds with one of his own. He covers his head as Reich scores a good uppercut. They both are ready to trade some more but the officials decide to break it up.

Great wild scrap - just the one, which can be expected from these two guys. Rypien was a clear winner of the first half but Reich outlanded Rypien in the second one and forced him to cover his head at the end. Reich also connected with a bit better punches. Edge goes to Reich.

Rypien gets kicked out of a face off by the official and goes and line's up beside Reich. They start shoving at each other straight away and when the puck is dropped they both automatically dropped their gloves and grabbed a hold of each other.

Rypien quickly got his right hand going landing a number of fast punches on Reich. Reich then came back with a few rights before both guys switched quickly to their left hands. Both guys then swapped a few left hands each, both landing but Reich seems to be getting the upper hand at this stage of the fight.

Reich then lands a few jersey jabs and Rypien comes back with four more straight lefts before Reich lands a left to Rypien's body and then lands a big straight left hand that stuns Rypien and the Canucks tough guy covers up. Reich then lands two more solid lefts and the lino's come in and end the fight as Rypien is still covering up.

Very good fight between these two guys but Reich clearly wins the fight. Reich clearly landed the better punches and was in control at the end with Rypien covering up, so I'm giving Reich the clear win in this fight.

Clear win Reich.

This was an entertaining scrap between two good middleweights. Rypien landed two decent blows and an average left. He missed a few punches. He landed a decent shot and a solid blow. Reich landed an average punch and missed a blow. He landed a decent punch and an average shot. Rick missed a couple of rights.

Jeremy landed a decent blow, missed a punch, and landed a partial connect. He landed an average shot, missed a few blows, and landed a body shot. Rypien landed an average connect, missed two punches, and landed a decent blow. He missed a punch. Reich missed a blow and landed a partial connect. He landed two average punches. Jeremy missed a few punches. He landed a body blow and a partial connect. Rick missed two punches. He landed an average blow and a decent shot. Reich landed two average blows and a solid shot. The refs stopped the contest.

I rate this as a narrow win for Reich. It was a close and competitive fight. Rypien had the edge early in the contest. Jeremy worked his way back in the fight. Reich came on strong down the stretch and had the strong finish. I think the late flurry of effective punches put him over the top in the fight.

Just after the faceoff they are seen starting to fight. In all fairness, Rypien landed at least 3 better quality facialpunches throughout the match than Reich. Reich looked good only because he was more actively swinging but if you look closely, he missed with many swings while only marginally connecting with a few other swings. Reich only landed MAYBE only 1 good facialpunch in total. I have to give the narrow win to Rypien.

Rick Rypien runs into the Islanders' goaltender after the whistle so Andy Sutton goes after him and instigates him into a fight. They grapple for a bit and Sutton lands a weak short left. Rypien falls short with his punch and takes a solid shot. Sutton tries to add some more but misses and takes two good lefts to the jaw. He lowers his head and slips to the ice.

Sutton's huge size advantage didn't help him here as Rypien easily beat him to the ice. Clear win Rypien in this short scrap.

Rick Rypien goes to the net and knocks into Scott Munroe, knocking the goalie's mask off. Andy Sutton shoves at Rypien and they both drop the gloves. They get a hold of each other and Rypien misses a left. Sutton lands a right and then takes a left from Rypien while missing a right. Rypien lands two lefts and Sutton falls down.
