Nylund definitely throws more punches while MacAdam is more controlled in his fighting. They both trade rights with each other. The best punch of the fight is a beautiful uppercut from MacAdam while Nylund is pushing forward. MacAdam takes Nylund down for a moment as if to say, "hey kid, calm down". Still, given the fact that MacAdam was a very good fighter, Nylund did very well and certainly deserved the draw here.
Some comments on MacAdam:
Mel Bridgman: A tough fighter.
Clark Gillies: MacAdam destroyed Denny Potvin - Absolutely killed him. Not a big guy, but he was very tough and a guy that many left alone.
Dave Hutchison: I thought it would be a piece of cake when I fought him. It was no easy fight. MacAdam was an exceptionally good fighter and tough. Hard handed fighter.
Dan Maloney: Tough as nails. |

Great fight. Nylund was throwing a lot more punches while MacAdam was more in control of his punches taking his time and picking his spots but it seemed like he landed every punch he threw which seemed to even out the fight for me.

Nylund lands well at the outset, connecting more than he misses, but he eats a couple of big rights from MacAdam in the process. Nylund is the more active puncher but as the fight goes on, he lands fewer and MacAdam hangs in there picking his spots to throw punches but landing when he does throw. The linesmen move in when they start to tire. Very good scrap.

Both grab with left hand and whale away with right. Nylund blodies MacAdam. Maybe Nylund was more brutal, but I think that MacAdam landed better. Anyway, one great stand up battle

great toe to toe fight, each going with rights, they fall down but get back up, after a while they tire out and grapple and are broken up

MacAdam shows why he's such a great heads up fighter, Nylund the bigger of the 2 is throwing tons of punches but the smaller MacAdam hits hard with his openings.

They start trading pretty even and go down. The zebras try to brake them up but they start hammering away again, with no clear winner to pick.

I am inclined to give this one to MacAdam. Nylund throws a lot of straight right hands here but very few seem to land, while MacAdam places some real nice right uppercuts right on the face of Nylund. Also, the general pace of the fight favors MacAdam as he is able to calmly maneuver the much bigger man around. MacAdam just seems to have more of a command, more of a presence in this scrap. Nylund looks tired near the end.

Great toe to toe action, pretty close, maybe a slight edge to Nylund but I call it a draw, MacAdam was cut, not sure if Nylund was.
