barber broke his jaw trying to stop a breakaway, and got a ten-stitch cut from the skate blade of Peter Marsh, which nearly ripped his ear off. Barber did not miss any more games but had his jaw wired shut and lost 15 pounds.Reply

Denis Cyr takes a pass from Curt Fraser and wires a one-timer off the underside of the bar past the standing Michel Laroqcue (playing his first of two career games with the Flyers). McCrimmon attempted to block the shot, and as the puck went in, Cyr's momentum carried him past McCrimmon. No sooner had Cyr raised his arms in celebration when a seemingly irritated McCrimmon slashed Cyr across the face, not a heavy two hander, but hard enough to bloddy Cyr and drop him to the ice. A crowd gathers around McCrimmon behind the Flyers net, but nothing much happens as the players disperse, seeing that there is concern over Cyr's health. Cyr is seen being helped off the ice with a rag held firmly to his forehead/bridge of nose area, and some blood is visable on the cloth. McCrimmon recieves a five minute major. Dirty

Ray Allison narrow win Fun
3
Ray Allison and Steve Ludzik bump in the corner and then the gloves come off. Allison gets temporarily behind Ludzik and throws twice and lands both. They begin to wrestle and Ludzik kicks at Allison. After a little more wrestling, Allison tries to take off Ludzik's helmet. This proves unsucessful and they wrestle some more. Allison misses a couple of rights before connecting on one. They wrestle some more. Ludzik then gets the takedown. Narrow win for Allison, he landed a bit while Ludzik was always inactive.

Hoffmeyer did surprisingly well against a top fighter in Fraser. The men had a dramatic square off. Curt missed a blow and landed a light punch. He missed several shots. Bob missed a couple of blows and landed a light left. He missed a shot. Fraser landed a body punch and missed a blow. He landed a partial connect and missed a shot.

Hoffmeyer missed two punches. He landed a decent blow and a light shot. Curt missed a punch, landed a decent blow, and landed a partial connect. Bob landed a couple of decent punches. Fraser pulled a little hair and Hoffmeyer gave him a bit of a face wash. Curt landed a decent blow and a partial connect. Hoffmeyer missed a punch and the men toppled to the ice.

I rate this as a draw. Both men landed some moderately effective shots and some light punches. The number of blows that landed and the impact of the blows was roughly even.

Curt Fraser and Bob Hoffmeyer drop the gloves and grab on after a short squareoff. Hoffmeyer throws a couple of lefts as Fraser throws a handful of fast rights. Fraser then switches hands and throws a few lefts. They both throw some lefts and wrestle in tight. They trade a few more punches in tight both guys usings the left. Fraser takes off Hoffmeyer's helmet and then pulls his hair. They throw some rights at each other and then Fraser takes down Hoffmeyer. Average fight with no winner, both guys stayed in tight most of the time and no one had much of an advantage over the over as they landed some of punches to the side of the head.
