Michel Petit narrow win Fun

Both takes a classic boxing stance preparing for the fight. Both throw rights at each other, Coxe connects with a decent punch. Both are spinning around for a while gripping each others jersey. Coxe has the better grip and scores with a nice straight right and then another. After this Petit starts to turn the tide to his favour. He tries a right uppercut and a couple of right blows, scoring nicely with one of them. They continue exchanging a few more blows with each other, Petit throwing more punches before the zebras come in. Very close fight. Could be called a draw, but Petit was a bit more active here and gets the nodge.

Petit and Coxe traded punches in a battle of right hands. Michel missed a left and a couple of rights. Craig got the better of the early going. He missed a couple of blows and found the target for a spell. He landed a solid uppercut and a solid right cross. After a brief pause, he landed a couple more solid connects.

Petit was behind on the scorecard. He made a nice comeback in the bout. Michel landed a solid blow and missed a punch. Craig missed a right hand and Petit established a good grip on his right arm. Coxe was unable to land any more punches in the fight.

Petit finished in strong fashion. He landed a couple of right hands with average pop and a couple of solid right hand connects. Coxe got him in a clinch and the refs were able to stop the bout.

I rate this as a draw. Coxe landed four solid blows in the contest. Petit landed three solid connects and a couple of punches with average pop. Craig controlled the first half of the bout and Michel was in command down the stretch.

Good fight between Petit and Coxe. They square off for awhile before Petit lands the first shot of the fight, a good left that gets answered by some Coxe rights and then they tie-up for awhile. What happens after this surprises me because while both are landing here and there in-between the clutching and grabbing Petit finishes the fight with some effective punches and ends up bloodying Coxe while blocking his remaining punches. I've got to give Petit a narrow victory for winning the last round in an otherwise even fight.

Petit surprised me in this one going up against a warrior like Coxe. Good fight with Coxe scoring early but Petit holds his own and comes on late to earn the solid draw.

Good fight. Coxe lands more early and looks like he's gonna win easily. But Petit comes back strong in the second half, lands a few good ones and bloodies Coxe's nose. Close fight but I'll have to give the edge to Petit, he landed better shots.

In the beginning, it looked like the young-lion craig coxe was going to eat up petit since he was man-handling him & had him under control while connecting with the first 3 facial punches of the fight. But then petit manages to stabilize and aim solid facial punches to earn himself a narrow win > 5 straight facial punches that slightly bloodied coxe ........... overall, a good little bout between the big kid named criag coxe vs. the smaller & experienced michel petit.

Coxe early lands a few rights looks like he is gonna whip him pretty good than Petit really hits him with some solid right hands at the end. One caught Coxe on the nose causing some blood. Solid draw

Craig Coxe said that when he first came up with the Vancouver Canucks, Petit was with the Canucks. Coxe mentioned that Petit was really giving him a hard time and being a jerk in general. Coxe said that the coach Bill Laforge had strictly forbidden fighting in training camp otherwise Coxe would have fought him. Eventually they did fight in training camp, but these two never hit it off, to put it mildly. Petit was eventually traded away from the Nucks, but when they met again in this game when the Canucks played the Rangers, Coxe went after Petit on his first shift.Reply

Joe Paterson narrow win Fun
7
Newly acquired heavyweight tough guy, Joe Paterson of the New York Rangers sheds the mitts with the Vancouver Canucks' rugged defenseman, Garth Butcher. They grab on with the right and trade lefts at first. Paterson throws six and lands four as Butcher throws six as well and lands two. Butcher then goes idle as Paterson pauses for a second, then resumes throwing lefts. Paterson throws seven and lands just two, then Butcher counters with two connecting lefts. They grapple and Paterson throws two lefts and lands one prior to both of them falling to their knees. The referees hurry in and break up the two despite that they get right back up. Paterson connects on more and better than Butcher but Butcher stood in there fairly well. It was a good tilt.

Butcher was roughing up Jan Erixon and Paterson came over and challenged him to fight. They traded freely with left hands. Joe got the better of the exchange. He landed a solid connect, a pretty good blow, a solid connect, and a couple of pretty good shots.

Garth landed a couple of solid connects and a decent punch. He missed a punch. Paterson landed a couple of solid lefts and a couple of body shots. Butcher missed a punch and landed a blow with average pop. Joe missed and hauled him down to the ice.

I rate this as a clear win for Paterson. Butcher hung tough and landed some effective blows. Joe landed with better power and he landed at least three or four more blows with solid pop. Paterson got the edge in power punches and put some hurt on Garth in the contest.

This fight starts as toe to toe match, but Butcher is soon in tough against Paterson, who pounds away at Garth mercilessly from beginning to end. Butcher has his head down and gets in a couple of shots of his own, especially at the start, but in the end he's overwhelmed and outmatched and Paterson wrestles him down to the ice.

They threw toe-to-toe lefts at the beginning but Paterson threw some that caused Butcher to turn his head away. Butcher does still offer some resistance throwing two more nice lefts before Paterson lands the last few and they go to the ice together.

Pretty good fight at center ice, both guys throwing them. Paterson though was more active and outlanded Butcher. Narrow or clear win for Paterson.

Joe Patterson and Butcher are throwing the lefts and it looks like one of Patterson's catches Butcher pretty good. They both kept throwing until the refs come in.

Aw man, terrible camera work here - we can only speculate what happened, but Richter came in and thumped Brubaker along the boards in the Rangers end, and Brubaker immediately sheds the glove and goes after Richter. The camera is followng the puck down into the Canucks end, then the feed cuts to the camera between the two benches, where all the Rangers are leaning over to watch the fight - then by the time the feed gets a better view, the fight is over, with Richter on top of Jeff. Can't call a winner, but punches were thrown, accordin to the announcers, but impossible to call a winner. Too bad.

Richter hit Brubaker and Brubaker went after Richter. But when camera finally got there the two were already down and the fight was over. A shitty replay didn't show the fight either so it's impossible to make a call.
