Foglino picks up the puck in his own zone, on his right-hand side of the ice. He gathers up some speed through the neutral zone, and makes an excellent decision by keeping his head down the whole time.

As Foglino crosses into the offensive zone, Phaneuf crosses over and delivers a left shoulder to left shoulder hit that sends Foglino down on his backside.

Francis Lessard and Jay Rosehill lined up beside each other for a faceoff. As soon as the puck hit the ice, the gloves were off. They squared off before grabbing onto each other. Lessard missed with a quick left hand. Lessard missed another blow as Rosehill missed with a right. The two combatants then went toe to toe. Lessard threw fifteen lefts, connecting with seven, one nailing Rosehill right in the jaw. At the same time, Rosehill threw fourteen rights, landing seven with one also doing some real damage. They paused for a moment and Rosehill changed hands before going toe to toe again. Lessard threw eleven lefts and connected with four. Rosehill threw twelve rights and connected with six, one landing very well. They got in tight and exchanged some words before the linesmen recognized they were tired out, prompting them to intervene.

An excellent scrap. Lessard and Rosehall had fought in the preseason but Rosehill was never able to get going and Lessard had a rather easy time defeating him. This was Lessard's second game since being called up from the Binghamton Senators and he wanted to earn a permanent roster spot with Ottawa. Lessard and Rosehill had exchanged words in the first period and received ten minute misconducts. In the second period though, they found each other again and dropped the gloves before any officials could intervene. Lessard landed slightly better in the first toe to toe exchange and after resting for a moment, had a second toe to tow exchange, with Rosehill landing slightly better.

This was round five between these two heavyweights. Rosehill started his career with the Tampa Bay Lightning and spent most of his time with the organization in the minors. Rosehill and Lessard fought twice in the 2006-07 season, where Rosehill was a member of the Springfield Falcons while Lessard was playing for the Hartford Wolf Pack. Rosehill was eventually traded to Toronto where he and Lessard got into another AHL fight, with Rosehill getting the better of Lessard. Lessard then signed in Ottawa, where he won the preseason battle between these two combatants.

Lessard was never able to secure a regular NHL roster spot. He made preseason apperances for the New York York Rangers, Philadelphia Flyers, and Phoenix Coyotes. Lessard also saw brief regular season action with the Atlanta Thrashers, as well as the Senators. Lessard eventually grew tired of having to battle his way to a roster spot, and ended up signing in the LNAH, where he quickly became a fan favourite.

This was a draw. Lessard landed slightly better in the first toe to toe exchange while Rosehill landed slightly better in the second.

Francis Lessard and Jay Rosehill drop the gloves right after a faceoff in the second period, two AHL call ups for the rival Ottawa Senators and Toronto Maple Leafs respectively. They square up and Lessard shows left while Rosehill shows right. The latch on and immediately start swinging toe-to-toe. Lessard chucks nineteen lefts and lands nine with two connecting well. Meahwhile Rosehill with his right throws eighteen and lands eight, one getting Lessard nicely. They lock up and pause but it's not too long before they resume going toe-to-toe. This time Rosehill goes with the left and throws thirteen, landing seven with another one good one that connects. Lessard tosses eleven lefts at the time and lands five, also with one catching Rosehill strongly. The two tire out, Lessard just before Rosehill and the linesmen take note and step in to break it up right away. Great bout between these two heavyweights. They just stood in and slugged away toe-to-toe. It was a pretty close fight so I'll go with a draw. Rosehill had some blood on his helmet as Lessard's left hand was cut up and bleeding.

Francis missed a blow and landed a solid punch. He missed a shot and landed an average blow. Jay missed a punch and landed a solid blow. He missed a punch and landed a couple of average blows. He missed a shot. Lessard landed two average punches and missed two blows. Rosehill landed an average punch and missed a shot. Francis landed a partial connect.

Jay landed a light blow and a decent shot. Lessard missed a punch and landed a partial connect. He missed a blow and landed a decent shot. He missed two punches and landed a partial connect. Jay landed a body punch and an average blow. He landed a decent punch and missed a shot. The refs stopped the fight.

I rate this as a draw. Both men landed a lot of effective punches. I thought it was too close to call. This was a great action fight.

The two square off at a faceoff, and come together with Lessard throwing the first punch, a left. Rosehill throws a right, and they go toe-to-toe, throwing about 17 punches each. Lessard seemed to be landing, while Rosehill wasn't.

They grab on for a bit, Rosehill switches and they start going toe-to-toe again, both throwing lefts this time. Rosehill throws two more in the beginning of the sequence, and two more at the end. I think during this sequence, Rosehill threw 14 to Lessard's 10. I don't see Lessard landing any, Rosehill definitely got the better of this sequence.

They grab on and decide they've had enough, allowing the linesman to come in. Lessard got the better of the first half of the fight, but Rosehill got the better of the second half.

I'm calling this one a solid draw in one of the best fights of the season. Good to see a solid toe-to-toe fight like this, especially after a few boring days of fighting.

Great toe-to-toe fight! Lessard's punches appeared to have a bit more pop in them but it was a very even fight.

Lessard's hand appeared to be in pretty bad shape after the fight.

Great toe-to-toe fight with both players taking one to throw one. Lassard throwing lefts at the beginning and Rosehill throwing rights. Then Rosehill switches and is throwing lefts to before the clutch and end the fight

Rosehill vs Lessard

There's not much I can say besides these two line up inside the blue line and after a little square up they go toe to toe for about 14 straight shots, get a tired and go again for another 10-12 shots, to me it looks like Rosehill was landing the better shots, and they looked harder and he had a better left hand than Lessard. Thats why I give him the narrow.

Narrow for Rosehill.

How is this fight a 9 or a 10? There's a lot of chucking of hands going on, with nothing of substance landing. This is a 7 or an 8 tops.
Maybe the announcers fooled you into thinking it was better than it was. Do yourself a favor and watch it with no volume, then see if you see it the same way. I've watched it with and without volume 15 times now. It's way overhyped, but still a decent scrap.

Nice toe-to-toe exchange of short punches between these two, camera work was a total crap though. Hard to tell what really landed but it looked like Lessard was landing more early and Rosehill was doing better towards the end. I call it a draw but if anything it would be a narrow win for Lessard.

This was a well spirited fight and very evenly matched. Ball park figure would be between 30 to 40 punches a piece where fired off. The fight ended with both these guys applying the bear hug. They spent it all and were gased. They both acknowledged each other with a consenting smile to each other.... Great fight.....

Boyce, skating towards his own net, circles around and swats the puck out of his zone. Since he was looking down at the puck, he had no idea Chris Neil was skating right towards him.

The contact of the hit is actually a bit awkward. Because of the way Boyce is turning after he makes the hit, Neil may have made knee to knee contact, so Neil had to lift his left leg up so the contact was on Boyce's thigh. At the same time, he makes solid contact on the upper body by holding out his forearm, making contact with Boyce's shoulder.

Neil falls on top of Boyce after contact. Boyce gets up and appears unharmed.
