| Both guys get in tight so there didn't seem to be too much power behind those punches. Narrow win Messier for being a little more aggressive and landing a couple more. |

Cam Connor was a tough customer and a good fighter. He decided to have a go with a great fighter in Behn Wilson. He was taking on one of the most feared enforcers in the NHL. Cam was the underdog going into this bout.
Connor was a fearless player who would go with anyone. This fight started when Cam checked Behn along the boards. Behn responded in typical fashion by landing an elbow to the face of Connor. Cam wisely wrapped up the right arm of Wilson in the early going. This mitigated the effect of Behn's punches.
Behn was able to land a couple of partial connects with his right hand. Connor missed with a couple of left hands. Cam came back and landed a solid uppercut. Then, he nailed Wilson with a good uppercut.
Wilson got his right hand free at this point and he landed a couple more partial connects. Behn was able to get Cam bent over and he landed two solid uppercuts. Connor went down and the referees stopped the bout before the two could swap any more blows.
I rate this a narrow win for Wilson. Connor got off to a good start in the bout. He was able to wrap up Behn's arm in the beginning of the bout. Cam got two good shots in on Wilson. Once Behn got his right arm loose, Cam was at a disadvantage. Wilson had a chin like a cinder block and could walk through blows and overpower most guys in hard punching exchanges. Behn's strength advantage was ultimately too much for Connor to overcome. Behn had a narrow edge because he didn't really put a lot of hurt on Cam. He landed some pretty good shots at the end, but he wasn't able to extend his arms to land shots with great power.
This was a good performance by Connor in defeat. He got some good licks on Wilson in this bout and he proved that he was pretty good with his fists at the NHL level. Cam didn't last too long in the NHL, but that was more because of deficiencies on the ice rather than with his fists.
Cam came out of the minor leagues with good potential. He was a madman with the Flin Flon Bombers of the WHL. He had 376 penalty minutes in 65 games in the 1973-74 season. He somehow stayed out of the penalty box long enough to score 47 goals in that noteworthy year.
Connor had some promising seasons with the Phoenix Roadrunners and the Houston Aeros. He continued to display good offensive skills and he became one of the most feared fighters in the WHA. He once delivered some "Bad News" to Gilles Bilodeau in a game against the Birmingham Bulls. Cam was one of the better power forwards in the WHA.
Connor was good enough to make the NHL after the WHA folded. However, he struggled with the speed of the game in the NHL. His offensive contributions diminished and he was not an elite enforcer at the NHL level. His fighting ability alone was not going to keep him on a team's roster. Cam was one of those players who could thrive in the WHA and the minor leagues. However, the NHL has the best hockey players in the world. He wasn't quite good enough to succeed at that level. He did have some good moments with his fists. He performed a lot better against Wilson than many of his peers. Behn was a wrecking machine at this time and may have been the best fighter in the NHL. |

| Cam Connor sheds the mitts with Behn Wilson near the benches. They're in fairly close from the get go and Connor misses with a right. Wilson then lands two rights and as the second one connects, Connor misses a right. Wilson throws two other rights and misses one. Wilson's helmet comes off and Connor connects with a right. They pause, gain some separation, and Connor throws two rights and lands one. Then Wilson throws six rights all as Connor gets back in closer with Wilson. Four rights of Wilson's connect and Connor goes down, pulling Wilson down as well. The referees come in and break them apart when they're on the ice. Edge Wilson for landing more and a good scrap by Connor against one of the league's best fighters in Wilson. Not a very good fight, average in my eyes. |

Connor does pretty well for himself at the beginning of this fight with Wilson. They come together and Wilson rips off a few rapid right hand uppercuts, landing a few. Connor tries for the takedown and then readjusts himself. He then lands 2 very good uppercuts of his own. Wilson then pulls free and lands a few right hands as Connor goes down.
Wilson landed a few to get the win, but Connor landed the biggest punches of the fight with those 2 uppercuts. Narrow win for Wilson. |

| Connor and Wilson starts a fight behind the play after Wilson had turned around along the boards and elbowed Connor in the head. Connor tries to tie up Wilson who throws a few lame punches. Connor then throws two nice uppercuts at Wilson and seems to have the momentum. Wilson however comes back and fires away with a series of rights at Connor who goes down , not just from the punches but also from being pulled down by Wilson. After the fight Wilson grabs his hair as if to say that Connor was doing some hairpulling. Both guys were ready to go a second time but were held back by the zebras. Wilson won it, but certainly not decisively IMO. |

| Camera gets there as soon as the fight starts. They're seen locking horns and then Conner lands 2 uppercuts. Wilson then answers that with 2 facialpunches immediately with Wilson pulling Connor down to the ice with his non-punching hand. The refs rush in and thats how it ends. Narrow win for Wilson. |
