Willi Plett narrow win Fun

They drop the gloves and Plett lands 1 early and they kind of go toe2toe with Bourque keeping his head down, a whole lot of nothing lands before Plett lands a nice uppercut and then pulls Bourque's jersey over his head and lands another as the linesman jumped in.

Willi Plett clear win Fun

Plett and Bourque decided to trade blows. Willi landed two solid right hands at the start of the scrap. Bourque was able to land a partially connecting right hand and he missed a punch. Plett just missed with a couple of offerings before landing a good right hook. Willi landed one more partial connect before the refs stopped the fight. He prevented Ray from getting many punches off in the scrap.

I rate this as a clear win for Plett. Willi landed a few punches with pretty good pop. He was in firm command in the fight. Bourque was not a heavyweight fighter and Plett was too much for him to handle. Ray was only able to land one partial connect in the entire fight.

Video begins as a fight in progress. Plett has Bourque bent over at the waist but Bourque was still able to swing although his eyesight may have been impeded by Plett's grappling. Bourque swung a couple of times and maybe one of these marginally landed on the face of Plett. But meanwhile, Plett scores with 2 facialpunches & 1 marginal facialpunch. The refs then intervene. Just about a clear win for Plett.

Plett was pretty much in control of the fight the whole time, to is credit Bouque gave it a good try and even landed a blow but he was way overmatched in this one, clear win Plett.

Houston comes towards Secord in the Atlanta corner as the whistle is blown for a frozen puck. Secord gives a little push and the linesmen come in before anything can break out but Secord gets a gloved punch to Houston's face over the linesmen. They get separated but Secord is trying to get as Houstin who backs away, not wanting anything to do with Secord. Both get two for roughing. Why Houston get two? I have absolutely no idea. Fun

Jonathan and Russell dropped the mitts. Phil used his size advantage to lean on Stan and wrestle a bit. Jonathan landed a partial connect with a left. Russell missed with a right and landed a partial connect with the left.

Russell stepped up the pace and threw a flurry of rights. He threw four punches at Jonathan. Three appeared to land as decent connects while one missed the mark. Jonathan threw a few lefts. He landed a couple of decent blows and missed with a couple of punches. Stan landed a solid right while Russell pinned him against the net. The refs stopped the fight at that point.

I rate this fight as a draw. Both guys landed a handful of decent shots. There was no meaningful difference in the punches that landed. Russell fought well on the inside and was able to hold his own with Jonathan in this bout.

Jonathan starts the fight with an elbow to the back of the head of Russell. The decide to go and Russell gets a shot in before they tie each other up and wrestle around until they both get free and go shot for shot for a few punches and then some more wrestling and Russell gets Jonathan against the crossbar and the linesmen come in and have a hell of a time separating them and Jonathan gets in a slap to Russell's face. Russell had a small cut when we went to the box. A good showing by Jonathan over the half foot taller Russell.

Big, rugged, Atlanta Flames' defenseman, Phil Russell and smallish, scrappy, Boston Bruins' forward, Stan Jonathan get tangled up with each other in front of the Flames' net and wrestle around a little bit. The gloves then come off and Jonathan lands a left and ducks his head. Russell lands a right and then Jonathan puts his head up before Russell throws two lefts, landing one. Then they open up and trade, Russell throwing five rights and landing one and Jonathan throwing five lefts and landing three. They wrestle afterwards and then Jonathan lands a right. The linesmen intervene and break up the fight. Then Jonathan smiles at Russell while giving him a few pats on the face. Fairly short fight but they did have a quick exchange of punches before it was over. Still it was a below average fight in my opinion. Draw as they each landed some punches.

Stan Jonathan narrow win Fun

The highlight of this fight is not what occurred during the fight but what occurred after the fight was officially terminated (meaning just after the refs got involved). They are first seen grabbing each other without the gloves. They grapple and then they each trade 1 facialpunch. More grappling now and then Jonathan lands the final facialpunch of the fight before the refs intervene. But the refs don't do a good job of moving them away from one another because both players are still face-to-face while restrained by the refs. Then, the highlight of the fight occurs when Jonathan gets his hand free while it wasn't handcuffed by the ref. Jonathan then literally abuses Russell by slapping him in the face with a fore-hand slap and back-hand slap back & forth. Jonathan laughed at him when doing this while Russell just stood there "and took the abuse" passively without growling or anything. Personally, I feel that this was an embarassment and I would have gotten my revenge later in the game if I was Russell. Anyway, Jonathan gets the narrow win for edging out Russell in the total punchcount while his second punch was the last punch in the fight before the refs got involved.
