Behind the play as the Griffins advance with the puck out of their own end Smith and McIntyre have words and drop the gloves in the Griffins zone and square off. There was no real pre-fight physical contact before they started talking.
They drift towards the far corner before getting a hold of each other, with Smith throws two rights that miss as they spin around as McIntyre throws a right that also misses. Smith misses with another right as they push up against the boards and Smith gets his left arm free and throws four left uppercuts, the first two of which land.
They peel away from the boards and McIntyre gets Smith's helmet off and pulls the jersey over the Griffin dman's head so Smith goes for the takedown with McIntyre throwing two wild haymakers that miss on the way down and the linesmen step in. |
