From the Chicago Papers:

Maloney rammed Maki into the boards. As a result of this, Maki came up with a high-stick & clipped Maloney. Maloney dropped the mitts and pummeled Maki. Meanwhile, Orland Kurtenbach (papers describe as "a hockey heavyweight champ" fought with Keith Magnuson and "Maggie more than held his own against the vet".

Shortly after quiet appeared to be restored, there were "two spirited rematches. Maloney the easy winner. Kurtenbach and Magnuson too close to call".

According to the Ottawa Citizen newspaper, Wayne Maki of the Canucks and Dan Maloney of the Hawks were the chief participants in this ruckus, each being assessed double major penalties as well as misconducts and game misconducts.
Chicago's Keith Magnuson and Vancouver's Orland Kurtenbach each drew double majors and misconduct penaties after the brawl.

Round 2 "too close to call". Looks like Magnuson was definitely a gamer in his rookie year. Fighting twice with Kurtenbach during this lengthy brawl. And holding his own on both occasions according to a couple news reports.

After being separated, and the players milling around, Kurtenbach and Magnuson had a round two. As they were battling, Maki and Maloney decided to have a round two as well.Reply
