The puck comes out of the Utah zone and Sgroi and Boogaard meet up at center ice. They talk for a second and Sgroi drops his stick, and is ready to drop his gloves. They stare each other down and Boogaard finally drops his stick and gloves, and Sgroi does the same.

Boogaard tries to grab on, but can't get a grip and Sgroi throws a quick left to keep Boogaard at bay. Boogaard throws a left that Sgroi blocks and ducks to get out of the way of. Boogaard again tries to grab on, but can't, and Sgroi tries to get him with another quick left and loses his balance for a second. Boogaard tries to take advantage and grab on, but Sgroi hunches over and makes it tougher. Sgroi throws a punch and Boogaard loses his balance and falls to the ice, with Sgroi on top. The linesmen move in to break them up, but Sgroi gets his left free and unloads three bombs before he quits and gets up and skates away.

Clear win for Sgroi, as he knocked Boogaard off balance and then continued to pummel Boogaard.

Not much of a fight. They challenge each other and finally agree to drop the gloves. They square off and do some shadow boxing before Boogaard lunges in and throws a right that comes up short. Sgroi lands two quick rights and Boogaard loses his balance. When Boogaard is on his way down Sgroi throws a right that misses. They go down and the linesmen jump in, but Sgroi has his left hand free and he throws a few late shots at Boogaard who is under the linesman. However I don't think those late shots should really count as the linesmen were in and Boogaard had no chance to defend himself. But Sgroi at least landed a couple quick shots before the linesmen jumped in and Boogaard none, so it's a narrow win for Sgroi in my book.

Boogaard loses his balance after Sgroi lands a weak right hand and Sgroi then hammers him with 3 big lefts.

I'm really surprised to see all those calls. This wasn't much of a fight really. I thought Sgroi landed at least one right before Boogaard fell at first but then I saw a replay and it clearly showed that he missed. At the end the linesmen just didn't tie him up and he unloaded with three lefts while Boogaard was down but those cheapshots obviously shouldn't count imo.

Sgroi skates in and bumps into Boogaard. He gets his stick up a little bit and Boogaard gives him a slash, and Sgroi slashes him right back. They stare at each other and talk, with the refs getting in between then trying to prevent a fight from breaking out. They get around the refs and skate towards the blue line before they finally drop the gloves and put their fists up ready to fight.

Boogaard tries to grab on twice, but is unable to do so. Sgroi looks to reach with his left to grab on, but Boogaard blocks that and Sgroi comes back with a right that lands nicely. Boogaard is forced up against the boards, and Sgroi throws three more, two of them over the top and landing to the back of Boogaard's helmet, and the third was an uppercut that missed. They get in close and hug for a few seconds before Boogaard throws a right over Sgroi's head. Sgroi comes back with a right that appears to knock Boogaard off balance. Sgroi is trying to grab back onto Boogaard with his left, and Boogaard throws an uppercut that misses. Boogaard goes to throw a right, but Sgroi counters quickly with a short left. Boogaard throws two hard body shots before Sgroi throws a left over the top of Derek's head. Boogaard throws a right to the helmet and Sgroi gets his hand in Boogaard's face and looks to wrestle him down.

I give Sgroi a narrow win for landing more punches in this fight.

Round 2. Sgroi challenges DeWolf after a whistle and they slash each other. Boogaard then comes in and they drop the mitts and square off. Again they do some shadow boxing before Sgroi lunges in and lands a right to the side of the head/helmet. Sgroi throws another right that misses, then he lands two to the back of the helmet and then he lands an uppercut. They get in tight and wrestle against the boards. Boogaard then cocks his right and throws one that misses. Sgroi answers and also misses with a right. Boogaard misses with an uppercut and with another right. Boogaard then lands two rights to the body. They wrestle, Sgroi misses a left and Boogaard then throws two rights, I'm not sure if the first one landed, but at least the second punch landed. Sgroi then gets Boogaard down and throws a left to his back before the linesmen get in. Better than their first fight, but still an average fight at best. Sgroi landed a bunch of rights at the beginning, Boogaard came back towards the end, but a slight edge to Sgroi for landing better.

Long seesaw fight. Sgroi opens with a series of punishing short right hands. Boogaard somehow hangs on, then comes back with some big swinging of his own. Suddenly, Sgroi grabs him by the helmet and takes him down, adding a couple of punches.

Marshall and Gainey begin swapping words at centre ice and a lino steps in between them but both skate away from the lino before dropping their gloves and squaring off.

Marshall does not mess about and quickly comes in on Gainey throwing a right hand at him before they tied each other up in a clinch. They grappled about for a second or two and Gainey pulled the jersey over Marshall's head but Marshall was able to land a few left hands while throwing blindly. They continued to grapple with each other and it was Marshall again who landed a few right hands on Gainey with the jersey still over his head.

Finally Marshall got his head out of his jersey and both guys traded two right hands each but Gainey landed the better, landing two solid looking punches on Marshall. Marshall took the punches well though and he continued to throw a few short right uppercuts at Gainey as they grappled with one another. Gainey then landed a couple of right hands to the side of Marshall's head before Marshall attempted to land some straight right hands but these looked to miss. They grappled about some more with Gainey throwing one more right hand just before the linos came in to separate them ending the fight.

Good fight even though Marshall was fighting for about half of it with the jersey over his head he still managed to land more punches than Gainey. Gainey though landed the two best punches of the fight and overall neither guy dominated so I'm going to call this fight a draw.

Draw.

Long fight with a lot of punches thrown, especially by Marshall who fought the early part completely jerseyed. Ironically, Gainey landed a couple of thunderous right hands right on the money just as Marshall finally got his jersey back down, and that's why I give him the decision. Marshall landed more punches but none as good as those 2 right hands by Gainey. I also believe Marshall ended up bloodied a bit.
