Chris Stewart clear win Fun

Stewart and Crouse talk in the neutral zone. Stewart gives him a crosscheck and they drop the gloves at the Coyote blueline. They have a brief squareoff and grab on with Stewart throwing pistonlike lefts, landing two of three at the outset with Crouse missing a pair of lefts. Stewart just continues rhythmically tossing lefts, connecting to the face and helmet with seven of the next fourteen. Only a brief response from Crouse, with four landing lefts of his own, slows Stewart briefly. Stewart moves laterally to his left to regain his momentum and delivers another five lefts, connecting with three and removing Crouse's helmet in the process. Crouse is turned to the side as Stewart unleashes three more to the head and rides Crouse down to the ice.

Clear win for Stewart. He was the obvious winner here, outlanding Crouse by a considerable margin and dominating the fight. This was clearly a payback to Crouse for roughing up Koivu late in the second period. Crouse, to his credit, didn't take the easy way out. He stayed on his feet until the very end and took his lumps from an experienced fighter in Stewart.

Lawson Crouse got rough with Mikko Koivu during a scrum late in the second period and early in the third, Crouse is approached by Chris Stewart. Stewart gives Crouse a small crosscheck in the arm and then they step back and agree to drop the gloves. They square off and Crouse gets rid of his right elbow pad as they wade in on each other with the dukes up. Stewart moves in and grabs on faster as Crouse tries to grab on with the right and as Crouse struggles to get set, Stewart gets his left arm pumping. Stewart throws a series of seventeen lefts and lands eleven, including one that jars Crouse early on and gets him turned around when Crouse misses two lefts of his own. Crouse just leans away afterward but can't get out of range or get a good hold of Stewart's left so then Crouse moves in close and straightens himself as Stewart knocks Crouse's helmet and visor loose. However Crouse then stands back while throwing three lefts and lands two, one finally stopping Stewart's throwing. They pause and Crouse lands a left but then ducks while trying to get a better hold on Stewart's left. Stewart misses a left and then tries to get Crouse's helmet off. Stewart throws four lefts and lands three while Crouse gets turned around again and then Stewart gets the helmet off of Crouse. Stewart throws three lefts and lands two, jolting Crouse back as he turns away and gets bent over. Stewart locks up in close with Crouse and they wrestle to the ice. Good fight between two big power forwards but it was all Stewart. Crouse didn't hesitate when challenged by the tough veteran and stood in there the whole fight but Crouse never got set and was on the defensive almost the whole time. However, Crouse couldn't really defend well either time, getting turned around, bent over, and never getting a good hold on Stewart's left but to Crouse's credit, he hung in there through it all. Still the decision is obviously Stewart's.Stewart got his left going really good early on and then again late in the fight, though not as well and landed the majority of his punches and a number of them cleanly too.

Chris Stewart is just too uch to handle for Lawson Crouse. Stewart's left was coming from everywhere and Crouse was hit several times.

God Damn I love Chris Stewart. The dude is fucking tank and he can play too. He just beats the ever-loving shit out of Crouse here, who clearly didn't know who he'd just picked as a dance partner. Good lesson for Crouse, and another solid showing for one of my favorite players left in the league.

Pretty decisive win in my book here. Stewart fed Crouse multiple lefts with little in response then he goes down. Easy win Stewart.

Very nice fight here, but very one-sided. Stewart's left arm was moving like a trip hammer, as he unleashed many quality shots. Crouse did well to hang in there as he was absorbing the punishment, but he was clearly overmatched. Give Stewart the obvious win in this one, but I can't see calling this win decisive, as the linesmen broke it up because they went down and not because Crouse turtled or needed rescuing.

Crouse lands one or two but otherwise this is total domination by Stewart as he feeds him left hands the majority of the fight, win for Stewart in dominating fashion.

You're a 19 year old in your rookie year in the NHL. Maybe don't drop the gloves with one of the very few legit heavyweights left in the league.Reply

I'd bet Crouse had no idea who he was about to tangle with. He's 6'4"and has been playing is pussy leagues with pussy players for the last 3 years. He probably thinks he's the biggest baddest dude around, and he got his ass kicked. IT was thoroughly enjoyable to watch as we don't get many of these old school, teach the kid a lesson moments anymore.

Sadly he still plays in a pussy league with many pussy players. While he may think he's badass Crouse wasn't very tough in the OHL either winning only 1 of his 13 fights accoriding to our reviewers so him getting his ass kicked here isn't a surprise. I do agree it was enjoyable to watch and you're totally correct you don't see these old school type moments anymore where the young player has to prove himself.

Lawson Crouse is a good kid. He has dropped em this season against Alex Gallant, Pat Maroon and Chris Stewart. These dudes are real heavyweights.Reply

Agree with that. He hung in there and was trying to get organized to come back. Just didn't happen this time. He was a high first round pick, projected to be a power forward, and not even old enough to buy beer in the states so it's nice to see a guy readily accepting fights from a Chris Stewart, who is about as tough as anyone in today's game.

Stewart definitely won the fight and won handily but I don't think Lawson Crouse did anything but earn respect here.

Parise and Stone a few times slashed each other, at same time Haula and Jooris started to push and shove. Fun
