Andrew Shaw win by TKO Fun
6
This was the first time Andrew Shaw played against Torey Krug since Krug had laid him out with a hit to the head earlier in that season, putting Shaw on the sidelines for a good period of time. Shaw challenged the non-fighter Krug and he accepted without hesitation, which was surprising. Krug had already answered the bell with Gallagher in the same game Shaw was hit in open ice, but Krug received no punishment in that fight.

They drop their gloves and square off. Both guys are fresh at the beginning of a shift. They study each other for a little while and then come together. Shaw lands a right to the helmet of Krug after Krug had missed a short jersey jab. Shaw lands another right to Krug's helmet and Krug lands a right on Shaw's bucket. Krug lands another right to the helmet of Shaw, and lands another helmet blow. Shaw lands a soft right to the bucket of Krug and another right at the same spot but way softer. Shaw lands another helmet blow and Krug lands a good facial jersey jab with some pop. Shaw lands a pretty good right to the helmet of Krug. Krug partially catches the face of Shaw with a right. Shaw throws a right that catches the visor of Krug, but the momentum of that blow made his forearm/wrist connect with Krug's nose, catching him pretty good. Krug gets dropped by that blow and Shaw lands another visor blow on his way down. Shaw misses another right and both guys exchange a few blows as they are down. The linesmen jump in and separate the two scrappers.

This is a TKO win for Andrew Shaw; he landed a big blow at the end to the nose of Krug and we could see the whiplash that blow did to Krug's head. Krug was dropped by a punch and was slightly losing already before that. This was a nice showing by Krug, he could've refused the fight since he had already answered the bell but decided to fight Shaw and go toe to toe with him.

Andrew Shaw win by TKO Fun

Andrew Shaw wants some retribution for himself on Torey Krug for a massive hit Krug laid on Shaw earlier in the year. Brendan Gallagher had sought a fight with Krug and Krug accepted the challenge and likewise, Krug accepts Shaw's challenge here. They square up and get the dukes up before they both grab hold tentatively. Krug prods with the left and Shaw connects on two rights and gets Krug ducking. Krug lifts his head and throws three rights in return, connecting on two of his own although one only grazes Shaw. Shaw misses a right and Krug goes to a knee but rises back to his feet as Shaw connects with a grazing right. Shaw then connects with a right and Krug prods back with the left before they each pause. Shaw then connects with another right and Krug misses a right and ducks. Krug lifts his head again and connects with a right that knocks off Shaw's helmet but Shaw connects with a right directly to the visor that knocks Krug down. Shaw is brought down by the falling Krug and connects with two rights before landing on the ice. Krug throws two rights from his back and connects with one as Shaw is grabbed by a linesman. The other linesman grabs Krug and the fight is halted there. Pretty good fight between two small guys. Offensive defenseman, Krug stood right in there the whole fight but against a slightly bigger and more experienced opponent, he took the worst of it. Win to the veteran agitator, Shaw, who connected with more and better punches and finally put Krug down with a right in the end.

Last time theses teams met Krug laid out Shaw with a dirty hit, causing a concussion , so this fight was predictable. After a short square off , Shaw just starts throwing them, and Krug an inexperienced fighter goes down after a few shots to his face

Pretty good fight here between these two - good action throughout. Krug had the edge early on but then Shaw eventually got going, landing a few nice punches with the last one dropping Krug to the ice for the TKO win.

Honestly good for Krug answering the bell here. A lot of guys in today's game wouldn't have done the same.Reply

Good on Krug. I find it odd that he bailed on Gallagher but decided to duke it out with Shaw here.Reply

Belieau skates the puck into the bruins zone , gets hooked , takes a body check and gets all upset , gives chara a spear to the balls on the way out of the zone . Pretty dumb play as now he has to play the third period with the risk of getting man handled by big Z Dirty

Michael McCarron bumps into Tuukka Rask, knocking him to the ice and taking a penalty. Kevan Miller comes in and drops the gloves with McCarron. McCarron gets turned around while being pushed into the boards by Miller who misses a right. McCarron straightens himself out and lands a right as Miller puts his head down. They wrestle and move off the boards as McCarron leans away from the smaller Miller to get some separation. McCarron misses a right as they move back to the boards and Miller lands a right. McCarron misses a right and backs into the boards while Miller misses a right. Miller then puts his head down and pushes McCarron against the boards while McCarron lands two rights. The linesmen then come in and break it up. Two big, physical, players but not much of a fight. Mostly wrestling and not much thrown or landed from either. Boring fight.

Not a good fight here between these two - mostly wrestling. They each tried to throw punches but they were ineffective - draw.
