Michael DiPietro makes a save and behind his net, Hunter Smith and Yan Pavel Laplante decide to go. Smith and Laplante just give each other a quick look and drop them. Laplante wades in and Smith readies but Laplante throws six rights, landing four as Smith is caught a little bit off guard at first but then throws three rights and lands two. Laplante stands back a little and throws three rights, knocking Smith's helmet off. Smith then throws nine rights, landing five as Laplante misses six rights and then just lowers his head to get in close. Smith tries to wrestle Laplante down as Laplante misses a right and then Smith gets the helmet off of Laplante as they wrestle. Smith lands a right and after a pause, Smith misses a right while Laplante misses a right. Smith then stands back and misses a right with Laplante missing a right after. Laplante misses a right before Smith lands a right, but then Smith misses a right as Laplante lands a right. They get back in close and pause so the linesmen come in and break it up. Really good fight with some big punches thrown. Laplante took the upper hand early but Smith came back well right after and it was pretty even from then on. Smith had a bloodied nose after the fight but still, I call it a draw.

Good old rock em sock em, toe-to-toe action. Old school style, really entertaining. Both landed some good, solid shots.

In this modern era, I can understand the high rating, but this fight can't worth more than 7.

It's easy for Yan to fly right in and start swinging , when you're wearing a helmet and visor ! . what a Nancy boy . It was a pretty even exchange but Hunter was just hurting his knuckles,, when player fight ,they should just take off the buckets . .they will still get the same matching penalty time and save severe damage to their knuckles .

Good fight, nice trading of blows early with Laplante taking an early lead and Smith coming on to even it up before they tie up and throw a late flurry with a couple landing, a well earned draw to both.

Great fight.
Odd start to the fight as it seems have nothing to do with the play, and both guys are nowhere near one another...but they meet up throwing big punches from the get go.

Slight edge Plante early, edge Smith in the middle, and close at the end...Smith is bleeding pretty good from the nose at fights end, but it looks like a textbook draw.

If you're Plante, giving up 7" and trying to get noticed out there, you skate away pretty happy with this one, but good showing for Smith to as Plante, despite his small stature, is not to be taken lightly.

Tough as nails for his size and age. His second pro fight was against experienced heavyweight Pierre-Luc Leblond and they went in a toe-to-toe beauty even though he suffered a narrow/clear loss. His fighting style reminds me of Brent Gallant even though Laplante fights less. He was a beast in junior. Definitely not to be taken lightly.Reply

Pushing, shoving and wrestling behind the Flames net. Mangiapane and Lind got minors for roughing.Reply
