Drake Caggiula buries Mark Jankowski along the boards and Jankowski gets up taking exception to the hit. They drop the gloves but come together awkwardly, with neither getting a good hold of the other. Jankowski then forces Caggiula off balance and they hit the deck heavily with Jankowski on top. That ends it as the officials are in right away to stop the fight. Nothing much here, they went down right away without a punch thrown.

Milan Lucic has been playing probably his most physical game all season throwing the body around and taking late pokes at the puck. One of those late pokes results in Smith going down for a bit with a stinger as Brouwer comes in and gets between him and Smith. The next shift Lucic is battling with Giordano in front of the net and Lucic chops him on the back of the leg and Giordano goes down. Smith gives Lucic a chop immediately following and Lucic stands there looking at the ref. Smith then gives Lucic a shove with the blocker and that sets Lucic off. He fires 3 quick lefts hitting to Smith's mask as Stone rushed in to grab Lucic and a ref came in and momentarily got a hold of Smith who loses his glove and mask trying to break free from the ref. He meets Lucic with a blocker to the chops as Lucic is also being partially restrained by another ref. Brouwer comes in trying to tie up Lucic and keep him away from his goaltender not that he can do much with the full cage on. Lucic and Smith continue to chirp at each other and eventually Lucic is directed to the penalty box. Fun

Giordano and Lucic are in front of the Calgary net, Giordano just gives Lucic a shove in the back and Milan just hacks him in back of the leg, Mike Smith takes exception to this and has words with Lucic and they exchange some gloved shots, Lucic drops his mitts and goes after Smith at this point but neither were able to get to each other, too much interference with the refs and other players. Fun

Milan Lucic clear win Fun

Lucic is back on the ice for the first time following his roughing with Flames goaltender Mike Smith, & Tanner Glass is also out on the ice lined up aside Lucic. The puck is dropped and so are the sticks and gloves as Glass and Lucic come together in front of the Oilers bench. Glass gets a good grip on Lucic's right while Lucic momentarily struggles to get a good grip. Glass gets in a quick right as Lucic plays defense still trying to get a better grip on the jersey. Lucic gets a better grip as Glass tries an uppercut but Lucic has him locked out. Lucic throws a right that hits Glass on the shoulder and then prods at him with the left. Glass ducks a right as they come away from the boards. Lucic lands a right to the body and then they each fire a right at the same time landing but Lucic's punch does damage cutting Glass near the eye pretty bad. Glass turns his head away for 5-6 seconds trying to recover and fires a quick right that lands and surprises Lucic. Lucic manages to free up his right again and lands a good shot to the temple. They each fire a right at the same time with Glass getting Lucic on the shoulder and Lucic catching helmet as Glass manages to duck just in time. Lucic gets the jersey partially over his head in the process and hits Glass on the shoulder with a right as he frees his head from his jersey. Lucic gets in another right and Glass misses a right in return. Lucic misses a right and Glass comes back with a short right. Glass ducks another attempted right by Lucic and Lucic pulls him forward and off balance with his left hand and fires a right that misses as Glass tumbles to the ice. They each give each other a pat after a decent scrap and good effort from both. Glass proved once again that he will stand up for his teammates despite being in a different weight class, not that that has ever stopped him.

Lucic was interviewed after the game and the reporters asked what he thought of Tanner's response. "Good on him sticking up for his goaltender." "It's better than that incident that I had with Buffalo where it lingered for a week or two and they were talking about how the Sabres didn't respond." "Good on him to respond, you gotta respect players like that." Mike Smith was also interviewed post game and said "It's sad that a guy that's been in the minors for most of the year and doesn't play much has to go out there and answer the bell." "Glass is that kind of teammate." "He's that kind of guy that will step up for anyone." "We need more guys like that." "He's been in and out of the lineup, he's been dragged through the gutter and back." "And then in a meaningless game, he is a guy that wears his heart on his sleeve for our group." "He's such a great teammate." "Obviously, that's his role, but it's unfortunate that he was the one who had to go out there and do that." I also recall Glass being interviewed following the Lucic hit on Miller and he said he loved it, thought it was old school hockey.

Milan Lucic clear win Fun

Tanner Glass lines up next to Milan Lucic to force him to stand up for his earlier attempt at fighting goalie, Mike Smith. Puck drops and Glass and Lucic lose their mitts and latch on with each other. Glass misses an over hand and then a right underneath before Lucic misses two quick overhand rights and then a right underneath too. Glass tries to dodge from those punches but then goes to throw a right but is caught by a big Lucic overhand right to the eye, cutting Glass open. Glass lowers his head instantly and Lucic holds up for a couple moments. Glass then misses an overhand right and Lucic misses an overhand right and a right underneath before shoving Glass against the glass. Lucic then misses a right over then top while Glass misses an overhand right while lowering his head again. Lucic throws two more over the top rights, landing one before Glass misses an overhand right and loses his hold. Glass reaches up at Lucic to grab back on as Lucic lands an over the top right across the face. Glass lowers his head completely after grabbing Lucic, who then misses a right over the top. Lucic shoves Glass off balance and lands an overhand right to the back of the helmet as Glass goes down. The officials then step in and break it up there. Credit to Glass for sticking up for his goalie against one of the league's toughest but he left the fight bleeding and clearly defeated. Win Lucic.

Good for Glass he knew someone had to answer to lucic for almost knocking out their goalie mike smith and Glass drops em next shift with the big man Lucic. They trade a couple short punches and then Lucic lands a big one to the temple of Glass cutting him pretty good but Glass hangs in there and comes back with a couple then Lucic takes control and rag dolls him to the ice they get up and give each other a tap to say good fight. Gotta give Glass credit. This was a firery game of old school hockey.
