John Hayden approaches Jake Dotchin looking for a fight and Dotchin agrees. Gloves drop and the two latch onto each other and wrestle. Dotchin gets Hayden leaning away and Hayden can't get set. Dotchin misses two rights as they spin and Hayden loses his balance, going down underneath Dotchin which finishes the fight. Really poor scrap from two big guys. |

BostonBruin8 Dec 6 09:11 ET | I don't understand how guys have such bad balance nowadays. They're the most skilled players we've ever seen, the best skaters in the world, but they can't even stand up when they fight? I don't get it | Reply |

Durbano Dec 7 00:48 ET | Very simple -- its either because they don't want to fight or they don't know how to fight or in most cases, a combination of both. Nearly all the fighters that used to stand up & trade blows have been systematically weeded out of the league by Bettman. They're all gone. All 3rd and 4th line fighters have replaced by 4th line European players that play 78-80 games, have 22 PIM's and perhaps 4 or 5 goals. And if there is a fight, the vast majority of today's "fighters" will either fall quickly or throw 1-2 punches and drop. Or tie each other up, throw 4 or 5 punches that don't land. And then one guy will simply stop. Then the other guy immediately stops. And its a quick skate to the penalty box. Its because they don't fight anymore in the minors. Absolutely zero emotion. And for the unicorns that will drop the gloves and throw blows -- like Josh Manson on the Ducks --- players often respond like that Nashville player a couple weeks ago -- in an absolute state of shock that someone actually threw a real punch with the intent to do damage. Pathetic league. | Reply |
