Nicolas Deslauriers clear win Fun
8
As the Canadiens are down 1-0 late in the first period, Deslauriers wants to shake things up and he challenges Miller to fight. Miller accepts right away and they drop their gloves before squaring off at center ice. They take a little bit of time and Miller comes in to grab Deslauriers. Deslauriers lands a quick right as they both get ahold of each other. Deslauriers then misses two rights and Miller misses a right before landing a couple of weak jabs. Miller then lands a weak right and Deslauriers lands a good shot with the right. Deslauriers then lands two big ones and Miller misses a right before Deslauriers lands another right. Miller misses a right and Deslauriers lands a big right as Miller lands a jab that pops Deslauriers' helmet. Miller misses a right and Deslauriers misses one as Miller does an awesome spin move to dodge the incoming right. Miller grabs Deslauriers again and lands two lefts with average power. Deslauriers partially lands a right and Miller lands a short left. They then both miss a left twice and Deslauriers lands a left as Miller misses a left. They both miss huge lefts and Deslauriers lands a huge left as Miller lands a left. Deslauriers lands a last big left and Miller misses a short attempt before Deslauriers falls to the ice, probably because out of gas.

I rate this fight as a clear win for Deslauriers after studying the fight a long time. Miller clearly lost the before toe-to-toe part, and narrowly lost the toe-to-toe part. Deslauriers landed a good amount of big shots here and Miller only a couple. Miller landed a good first left on the top of Deslauriers' head but Deslauriers landed at least one good left in the toe-to-toe part as well. It was a tremendous battle with nice punches landing and open action.

Nicolas Deslauriers clear win Fun
8
Behind the play tough middleweights Kevan Miller and Nicolas Deslauriers square off. Miller wades in and Deslauriers lands a right as they get a hold of each other. Deslauriers misses a right as Miller adjusts his hold and Deslauriers misses another right. Miller prods with the left and misses a right before prodding some more. Deslauriers backs up and after Miller misses a right, Deslauriers lands three rights in a row. Miller misses a right before Deslauriers lands another right, then Miller misses another right and Deslauriers lands a right as Miller prods Deslauriers' helmet and visor off. Deslauriers takes a moment to get his footing right while Miller loses his hold and reaches back in to regain in. Deslauriers misses two rights which gets Miller to lean away and Miller does a complete spin around as Deslauriers loses his hold and is thrown way off balance. Both regain a hold on the other, put their head down, and go toe-to-toe. Miller throws nine lefts and land three as Deslauriers misses two rights and then switches hands, throwing six lefts and landing three before getting bent over and falling to the ice beneath Miller. The linesmen break it up to some loud applause from the fans in the stands. Really good scrap here. Both guys threw some punches early with Deslauriers more active but then they broke apart, reengaged, and from then on it was just toe-to-toe until Deslauriers went down. Miller stood in there but Deslauriers clearly landed more and better punches in this round.

Can't wait to see the replay. I'm not sure D-Lo did enough to earn the win. But what a fight ! You have to be tough to stay up in a fight like that. By today's standards I won't be surprised it it's the fight of the year. Hopefully both guys are ok, it was a war out there

Might be the fight of the year, the slightest of edges to Deslauriers for landing a couple bombs early but a great showing by both players, and some taps of respect at the end for good measure.

Now this is a fight. Not many like this in the NHL anymore. a T2T fight where both landed some real bombs. If it was longer it would be a 10. Changed to narrow win for Deslauriers as he landed more. Still close though, stick taps to both guys for throwing and not caring about defense.

this was a solid, old school toe to toe fight with alot of punches thrown, but not a lot landed. Miller landed a couple of shots early, but when teh guys switched to lefts, Deslauries landed a couple himself. Miller was mostly missing with lefts, as he;'s normally right handed. Deslaurie looked like he had a small cut on his cheek. Good fight overall, especially for today's NHL where good ones are rare. I'd call it a solid draw.

Wow - one of the best fights of the year so far. Both guys were active throughout, throwing and landing multiple punches, some of them big. Both players threw and landed about the same amount, so I can't see saddling either man with a loss in this one - well-earned draw for each.

They start by trading rights with Deslauriers landing a few while most of Millers comes up short or miss their mark, they both switch hands and go toe to toe with Deslauriers landing 3 and Miller 2, I had Deslauriers landing 8 and Miller 4 with both throwing a relative amount of blows, narrow win Deslauriers.

This fight was Deslauriers early, Miller late. Great scrap between two tough players. Deslauriers was more active in the beginning, then Miller did that little spin around and started to land some clean lefts and eventually earned the takedown.

I have to call this fight a draw because, even with Deslauriers' very strong punches at the beginning, it looks like Miller had it at the end. I don't think there's a winner here. Very strong fight.

I agree, I did the punch count watching the fight in slow-motion a couple times. Both guys land a couple decently in the final toe-to-toe exchange but other than that, it's mainly one guy hitting helmet and the other guy hitting air. I don't see a draw here, Nicolas Deslauriers won this fight.Reply

On first glance, I thought Miller landed a couple good ones in the last flurry of lefts but after watching the slo-mo portion, it was apparent that most of the Miller punches missed. I have Deslauriers with 16 thrown, 8 landed and Miller with 16 thrown (I counted the 3 left jersey jabs early in the scrap), 3 landed. I didn't see any big punches. I think your punch count is a fair representation of what happened.Reply

Jake DeBrusk and Max Domi get into it during a scrum. More players come in and Domi turns away from DeBrusk who then gives Domi a shove in the back. Domi goes back at DeBrusk and drops the gloves, getting the jump on him. However as Domi throws two rights and lands one, David Backes and Brandon Carlo both reach in between the two and get a hold on Domi. DeBrusk leans away as Domi goes down under the crowd of players, ending the fight there. Not much here from Domi and DeBrusk, the sons of former NHL tough guys Tie Domi and Louie DeBrusk.

Nothing much to see here - I can't see giving Domi the win because of the gloved punch early on. There was too much interference so they weren't able to get going. This would be very interesting to see, since they both have the fight gene in their chromosomes.

I totally agree . I don't expect him to fight chara , but he has turned down fighting harper, zach smith , even jt brown this season (I watch every hab game )
He's going to learn his lesson one night , and he deserves it . Always jumping guys , non fighters etc . Someday somebody is going to give him a taste of his own medicine and who knows maybe he may learn a valuable lesson .
If domi done stuff like this AND occasionally squared off against true fighters (even his weight class ) , then I wouldn't care as much . But he's a pretend tough guy
