I gotta disagree with that one. Tkachuk is the third top scorer from the 2016 draft already and closing in on Laine. He draws the most penalties since he came into the league other than McDavid and has one of the better corsi ratings out there. Sure, he has fought people who aren't worth fighting but does that mean he is? I'm all for a player who any person would love to have on their team and hate to see on any other. Those guys are severly important. Just ask Doughty that Tkachuk made look absolutely silly as an 18 year old rookie. Sure I can see him not being a well liked player but I highly disagree he's an embarrassment. Those kind of guys are highly successful and sought after.

Agreed - can hardly call this guy an embarrassment because he's the type of player you love to hate. Effective and mucks it up the odd time, albeit not always against someone super tough. But that's his role and he does it well.Reply

LOL an embarrassment to hockey. Says the the guys who's probably never played higher than beer league.

Orpik blocks 100mph shots multiple times a night, although he is on the decline he was a stud shutdown Dman in his prime.

Tkachuk plays like a punk and deserves to be dummied more often than not but his skill is undeniable.

If I can understand where you're coming from (late 90's-early 2000's) then I think you mean today's hockey as a whole is an embarrassment.

Long gone are the days where 6'4, 225 lbs guys square off and really go. I hated it too but at some point you'll get used to it and take the game for what it is now.

Tkachuk is a solid player and a decent goal scorer. However, he is a punk who plays like a bitch. Tkachuk loves to start shit with people he knows he can push around but he shies away from players who are tough and would actually give him a problem. He is the epitome of a fake tough guy and is a perfect example of what is wrong with the current NHL. Tkachuk is all bark and no bite, just like his old man when it comes to the toughness aspect of hockey.

Players like Ken Linesman, Ulf Samuelsson, and Claude Lemieux were talented players who made solid contributions to their respective teams but they were still embarrassments to the game with their pathetic antics and cowardice. Tkachuk is no different. I have no respect for paper tigers who pretend to be tough when they know they are dealing with a weaker opponent but then back down against someone who can handle themselves.

I never said Orpik wasn't a solid, defensive defenseman. However, he plays like a bitch who loves to freight train players with massive checks, yet back away when challenged. I have no respect for players who constantly play a physical game and blast people with major hits, but then refuse to answer the bell for their actions especially when some of their checks are dirty.

I agree that hockey today is an embarrassment. Players like Orpik and Tkachuk are a perfect example of that. They are two cowardly players who play physical and stir things up, yet completely back down if someone tough tries to engage them. Despite that, they are regarded as "tough" players in today's game. Orpik can run over guys and yet run away when someone comes after him while Tkachuk can go after superstars like McDavid and then turtle when he is forced to be held accountable for it. That is just plain embarrassing and it's shameful. Unfortunately, players like this thrive in the NHL nowadays.

Tom Wilson and Rasmus Andersson struggled together with gloves on, but in my personal opinion these blows were consecutive and targeted enough to count as a fight. Fun

Downgraded only because Wilson didn't drop the gloves. His intent is therefore unclear.Reply
