Stu Grimson clear win Fun
5
The two rivals in their 5th fight against each other here. They drop their gloves and grab each other's jerseys. Grimson immediately with three right hands, the first one might have hit the back of Probert's head, but the two other shots missed. They start grappling, Grimson throws a couple more rights that don't seem to land. Then Probert's jersey gets over his head and Grimson takes advantage as he lands a couple of right hands and linesmen are quick to jump in. Win Grimson, he controlled the whole fight and landed only punches while Probert didn't even get a punch off. It was an upset for sure, Probert was the HW champion of the league and before this season Grimson definitely wasn't a top 10 fighter and in their previous battles it was usually Probert beating Grimson quite easily. But Grimson had really improved and after this season was over he was a top 5 fighter in my book and continued to be one of the top HW's of the league for almost a decade.

Bob Probert wants a fight with Stu Grimson and the two rival heavyweight agree to drop the gloves in this preseason game. They grab on but Grimson gets a better grip than Probert does and throws three rights, landing two as Probert loses his grip. Probert grabs back on and gets in tight as Grimson misses a right. Probert misses a weak right as they grapple and puts his head down. Grimson throws three rights, landing one while Probert lifts his head up and stays in tight. They wrestle and Probert's jersey comes off but gets stuck over his head. Grimson stands back and throws two rights, landing one as the linesmen come in. Not a great fight. They grappled and wrestled and Probert wasn't very active. Obvious win for Grimson.

Grimson really took it to Probert in this fight. Stu landed a solid shot, missed a punch, and landed a decent connect. Probie threw a right that missed. Stu established a strong hold over Bob's right shoulder. Probie was unable to get more shots off.

Grimson continued to get off rights. Probert was unable to effectively tie up his right arm. Stu missed a punch, landed a decent connect, and missed a blow. Grimson landed a couple of solid blows as Probert's jersey came up over his head.

I rate this as a clear win for Grimson. This was a one-sided win over one of the most feared men in NHL history. Stu handled him with ease in this instance. It was quite an impressive performance.

Probert gets his stick knocked away by Lemieux and is pretty mad and starts shoving Lemieux who doesn't want anything to do with Probert so Grimson comes over and gives Probert a little shot and they shove and drop the gloves. Grimson gets 2 or 3 in early then they hang on for a bit and wrestle as Grimson gets a few more in and Probert's jersey comes over his head and the refs jump in.

There is a scrum going on. Chris Chelios takes a shot at Brad McCrimmon. Everyone else comes in to get involved. Bob Probert comes in and knocks down Ruutu. He then takes a poke at Chelios and the two drop the gloves. Chelios immediately buries his head in Probert's chest. They grapple and Chelios pulls Probert to the ice. The two men get back up. Chelios just stays in close until the linesmen come in.

Draw as no punches were thrown.

Nothing fight, Chelios was just holding on, Probie threw couple punches early that didn't land and then it looked like he didn't really want to fight. That's a shame, I was hoping he would pound the shit out of Chelios.

Horrible fight. I give credit to Chelios for actually dropping the gloves with Probert even though he did absolutely nothing.

During a chippy shift between the Hawks and Wings, Dennis Vial knocks down Jocelyn Lemieux. Rod Buskas races after Vial and the two begin to fight. Buskas lands two lefts before pulling off Vial's jersey. Vial also loses his helmet. Vial then lands a right and tries to get the helmet off Buskas. Buskas lands two lefts. Vial gets the helmet off and lands four rights. Buskas lands a left but takes three more rights from Vial. Buskas goes to his knees but recovers and manages to take Vial down.

The two men landed an even number of punches so this is a draw.

Dennis Vial narrow win Fun

Vial knocks down Jocelyn Lemieux and Buskas immediately goes after Vial. They drop the mitts and grab each other. Buskas starts throwing rights immediately, he throws seven in a row and lands two decent shots and one glancing shot to the helmet. Then they get in close and Buskas pulls Vial's jersey off. Vial tries to get Buskas' helmet off and Buskas then lands two lefts to the side of Vial's head while Vial is busy trying to remove the helmet. Vial gets Buskas' helmet off and then takes over. Buskas gets in tight on Vial, who lands four rights to the back of Buskas' head. Buskas tries to come back and throws a left that misses. Then they throw one at the same time, Buskas misses another left, while Vial connects with a right to the side of the head. Vial lands two or three more rights to the back/side of the head and Buskas goes to his knees while pulling Vial's t-shirt off. Buskas manages to tackle the half naked Vial and the linesmen jump in to break it up. Decent tilt, Buskas early and Vial late. Vial gets the narrow win from me, he landed a bit more and I think he definitely landed the better blows.

Primeau and Marchment were a couple of tough guys and they decided to go at it. Keith landed two average blows and missed a punch. He landed a partial connect and missed a shot. Bryan missed a right hand. Primeau landed an average connect and missed a blow.

Marchment missed a punch. Keith missed two blows. Bryan landed two decent shots and an average connect. He missed two left hands. Primeau missed a punch, landed a partial connect, and landed a decent shot. The men fell and the refs stopped the fight.

I rate this as a narrow win for Primeau. He landed more punches and the good start was a key to the victory. Marchment landed a few effective shots late, but it wasn't enough to pull even on the scorecard.

Primeau throws a barrage of rights early, but almost none of them land. Marchment finally throws a punch, a left that lands, and misses another. Wild swinging by both, and a right by Primeau brings them both down.

Good underrated fight. They throw punches while flinging one another around. Marchment is landing more & better-quality punches through the first 3 quarters of the fight ... then, marchment screws himself up by winding up with his back facing primeau while they were flinging one another around, so primeau takes advantage of that and lands the last 3 punches of the fight. Difficult to call, i dont know if i should call this a draw or narrow win for primeau, i'm stuck. Ok, narrow win for primeau in an interesting fight.

Primeau used his long reach to keep Marchment at bay and landed a bunch of rights to the side of his head in the first half of the fight. Marchment came back nicely in the end, he started throwing lefts, Primeau responded with rights, they traded shots until Primeau lost his balance and went down with Marchment on top. I still give the edge to Primeau for landing more, but a nice comeback by Marchment.

Vial took a run at Lemieux into the boards, and missed. As they were skating up ice, Vial slashed him in the chest, and as Lemieux turned to face him, Vial drilled him in the face with the gloves. Got 2 minutes for roughing. Fun
