Mark Janssens clear win Fun
8
Chychrun rides Janssens into the endboards and then turns to face him behind the Flyer net. They go toe-to-toe with rights in the early going. Chychrun rocks Janssens with some stiff rights and buckles his knees. Janssens responds with some heavy blows that cause Chychrun to fall backward into the boards. Chychrun manages to remain upright and wheels away from the boards. Janssens hammers him with another right and Chychrun ducks his head and pushes Janssens back into the endboards. Chychrun is mostly hanging on at this point and Janssens lands some short lefts to the helmet and then a left uppercut. They grapple side by side and eventually face each other again. Janssens lands 3 more lefts and Chychrun lowers his head again. Janssens pushes down on Chychrun and brings him to his knees. Janssens lands one more late right as the officials get between them.

Clear win for Janssens. Chychrun started strong, cutting Janssens with an early punch and appearing as if he might put him away. Janssens responded to the challenge and connected with some heavy shots of his own and took the fight to Chychrun the rest of the way, outpunching and outlanding his opponent. This was an entertaining heavyweight tilt.

Mark Janssens clear win Fun

Jeff Chychrun bumps Mark Janssens at the end of a shift and Janssens looks right back to Chychrun. They're both ready to go and drop the gloves without hesitation. Chychrun and Janssens grab on with the left hand as Chychrun throws three rights, landing two. Janssens misses a right and then misses a right while Chychrun lands a right that buckles Janssens. Janssens almost goes to the ice but stays on his feet and misses two rights as Chychrun lands two rights. Chychrun leans away from Janssens while landing a right as Janssens lands a right but then Chychrun misses a right while Janssens lands a right that stuns Chychrun. Chychrun falls against the boards and it helps him stay on his feet while Janssens lands a right. Chychrun then throws two rights and lands one as Janssens lands two rights, then Janssens lands a right and then lands two rights while Chychrun misses two rights. Chychrun ducks his head and gets in tight, going low on Janssens as Janssens throws two rights and lands one. Janssens switches hand during a pause and then throws four lefts, landing one. Chychrun gets his head up and presses Janssens against the boards while trying to get his helmet off. Janssens also tries to get Chychrun's helmet off but neither of them succeed. Janssens eventually gets some space from Chychrun and throws three lefts, landing two. Chychrun ducks again while Janssens gets off the boards and gets in tight. The linesmen come in but Janssens switches hands and lands one last right under the linesmen while Chychrun falls to his knees. Good fight. Chychrun was pounding Janssens early on but Janssens came back very strong and pounded Chychrun right back. Unlike Janssens, Chychrun didn't recover and could never get back in the fight.

Mark Janssens clear win Fun

Jeff Chychrun bumps into Mark Janssens after a whistle in the New York corner. Janssens turns to engage Chychrun and the two men mutually drop the gloves. Chychrun comes out firing straight away, popping Janssens with five rights while Janssens misses with two blows. Janssens composes himself as he keeps returning fire. The Ranger tough guy catches Chychrun with a bomb that snaps his head back and stings the Flyer defenseman.

Both men continue to fire punches at each other. Chychrun gets in a couple blows but Janssens takes over as he rocks Chychrun with some more hard shots. Janssens lands seven punches and Chychrun pulls in close with him, wrestling Janssens up against the glass. Janssens gets in two weak lefts as Chychrun pins him up against the boards. Janssens attempts two weak rights that don't connect and he then lands three short lefts. Chychrun buries his head in Janssens' chest, drawing the linesmen in.

Chychrun started strong but the tide turned once Janssens scored with that bomb. From that point on, Janssens took over the fight and scored a clear advantage in the punch count. Therefore Janssens is the clear winner.

This was a good fight and the opening exchange of punches was exciting. Chychrun got off to a pretty good start. He landed a solid shot, missed a couple of punches, landed a solid right, and landed an average connect. Janssens missed a couple of punches, landed a solid blow, and landed a good one that rocked Jeff.

Janssens landed an average blow and missed a punch. Chychrun missed a right and clinched. He got Mark in a headlock. Janssens switched to throwing lefts and proved to be a good puncher with both hands. Mark landed a couple of decent blows, missed a punch, and landed a solid connect. The men wrestled for a time. Mark had a strong finish. He landed a couple of solid blows, missed a punch, and landed a solid connect. The refs stepped in to stop the fight.

I rate this as a clear win for Janssens. Chychrun landed some effective punches early, but the tide turned when he got nailed with a good right. Jeff tied up the right hand in a clinch, but Mark landed some effective lefts. Janssens was in the driver's seat at the end.

Janssens was eating some punches at first but then nailed Chychrun with a few rights... If these two had been in center ice it would have been a TKO for Janssens... Chychrun fell back into the boards and regained his footing quickly...

Good fight with both guys landing some bombs. Chychrun landed a good one early, but Janssens controlled the rest of the fight, buckling Chychrun twice. To his credit, Chychrun never went down.

Good fight, Chychrun starts fast and buckles Janssens knees with a big right but from there Janssens takes over landing some hard shots and nearly dropping Chychrun himself, he controls the majority of the fight and closes strong for the big win.

Troy Mallette trips Gord Murphy and right away Terry Carkner comes in after Mallette. They drop the gloves and grab hold of each other and Carkner misses a left while doing so. Then Carkner leans away and puts his head down as they try to get set. Mallette misses a right and gets in close but Carkner wrestles Mallette to the ice. They go down and then the linesmen break them up. Draw in a very bad fight.

Kris King decisive win Fun

King scores a goal and as he raises his stick in celebration, he takes a crosscheck in the back from Len Barrie. King turns around looking for a piece of anybody in orange. The linesmen enter the scene and King pops Boivin in the face with a gloved left. Boivin is incensed and goes around the official to pursue an altercation with King. They grab on and King jerseys Boivin immediately and they each miss a right. King lands an uppercut to the body and loses his helmet. Boivin misses a few more while King connects with several rights to the head. They clinch and King goes for the single leg takedown but Boivin fights it off. They grapple some more and King slewfoots him with Boivin falling awkwardly face down on the ice and King landing on top. King lands a few lefts and then gets to his feet and pounds Boivin with some right uppercuts and one grazing left to the body before the linesmen get in there.

Decisive win for King. Boivin should have had the advantage with nothing to grab onto but shoulder pads. King landed the only punches before and after the fall. The linesmen seemed to disappear while the fight was taking place and let Boivin take quite a beating before finally stepping in.

King really gave it to Boivin in this one. Claude missed a left and a right. King landed a solid right and a body shot. Boivin landed a decent right and missed a couple of punches. Kris landed three pretty good rights and missed a couple of punches.

Boivin clinched and the men wrestled a bit. King went for the hard takedown. It looked like Claude may have done a face plant on the ice. King landed a couple of decent shots and landed a couple of solid rights. The refs stopped the fight.

I rate this as a decisive win for King. Kris pounded Claude and was in complete control. He was continuing to land power shots as the refs stepped in. Boivin was in trouble at the time of the stoppage.

Kris King scores and while celebrating the goal, takes a small crosscheck in the back from Len Barrie. King shoves Barrie back and a scrum ensues. In the midst of it, King gets a gloved left in on the face of Claude Boivin. They soon find each other, grab on, and drop the gloves. King misses a right as Boivin ducks and has his jersey come off. Boivin misses a right as King ducks and moves in tight. King misses a right underneath and then Boivin also misses two rights underneath before King raises his head, losing his helmet in doing so. King and Boivin both throw rights over the top at the same time, Boivin missing and King landing. King lands a quick follow up right and Boivin ducks while missing a right just afterwards. King throws two rights and lands one while standing back from Boivin. King then lands a right underneath which snaps back Boivin's head and King misses an overhand follow up right. Boivin misses a right and gets back in tight on King who grabs Boivin's leg. Boivin raises his head as they wrestle about and then King trips up Boivin while throwing him to the ice. King gets positioning on Boivin, missing a left while on top of him and then getting up. King lands two rights underneath and then misses a left as a linesmen hurries in to break it up. The linesman tackles King, ending the fight there as some of Boivin's teammates also try to get in to help out but are held back by some of King's own teammates. One-sided fight. King got the best of the punching, catching Boivin with a couple good punches. Then King took Boivin down and kept punching him while Boivin just ducked and hung on. Decisive win for King.

Craig Berube and Troy Mallette get into it and drop the gloves as the horn goes. Mallette misse a right and Berube misses three rights afterwards. Mallette then misses a right, Berube misses two rights as Mallette gets in tight but then Berube throws three more rights, landing one. Berube wrestles Mallette down and misses three rights as Mallette gets up but can't get set. They wrestle and go to their knees, bounce back up, and then Mallette tries to get free while Berube's helmet comes off. Mallette throws two rights and lands one, then Berube misses a right and they wrestle to the ice, ending the fight. Bad fight from these two. Both landed one punch so call it a draw.

Not much of a fight, mostly wrestling. Berube throws some rights early, but only a few of them hit the back of Mallette's helmet. Mallette seems to land an uppercut late, probably the best punch of the fight and in the end the two wrestle to the ice.

Two rookies Louie DeBrusk and Dale Kushner go at it in this preseason game. They start off grappling and DeBrusk connects with a solid left. Kushner tries to get his left free but he can't and DeBrusk tags him with another left. They go up near the boards and Kushner tries to get his left free. DeBrusk lands another left which causes Kushner to slip and go down ending the fight.

DeBrusk landed three solid lefts while Kushner didn't even throw a punch. Therefore this is a clear win for Louie DeBrusk.

DeBrusk and Kushner squared off and Louie established a strong grip on Dale's arm. Kushner was repeatedly thwarted in his attempts to land blows. Both men missed a right hand. Louie landed a solid right.

Kushner missed with a right hand and Louie landed a pretty good blow. Dale missed with a right and Louie landed another pretty good shot that knocked Dale off balance. Kushner regained his balance quickly and was ready to resume the contest. The refs had seen enough and called a halt to the proceedings.

I rate this as a clear win for DeBrusk. Louie was a very powerful guy and he neutralized Kushner's right hand from the start of the bout. Louie landed three shots with above-average power. He won the bout with ease.
