I rate this as a draw. It was a thrilling classic bout. I thought Kordic landed a few more punches along the way while McClelland landed with a bit better pop. Both men landed a number of power shots in this one. It was a treat to watch.

John Kordic and Kevin McClelland drop the gloves in this preseason game and both guys grab on with the right and throw lefts. It starts with both guys exchanging hard lefts, not toe-to-toe but very intense trading otherwise. Kordic tosses fifteen and lands nine while McClelland chucks twelve and lands five. They pause for a couple moments but then resume exchanging heavy lefts. McClelland tosses eight and lands six while Kordic chucks seven and lands three. They pause again and Kordic moves in closer to McClelland. They wrestle only for a moment before McClelland stands back and resumes throwing, Kordic resuming as well. McClelland misses a left but then lands a left as Kordic lands a left, Kordic lands a left as McClelland misses a left and Kordic misses a left afterwards. They wrestle again but McClelland lands a left and opens back up with Kordic. Kordic throws two lefts and lands one but then McClelland throws two lefts, landing one of his own. Kordic lands a left while McClelland misses a left but then McClelland lands a left while Kordic misses a left. Kordic then lands left before McClelland lands a left and Kordic moves in closer to McClelland again. McClelland throws three lefts and lands one and they resume wrestling again, both quite tired. The linesmen notice and step in to break them apart. Both guys were throwing almost continually throughout this fight and just tired themselves out whaling away on each other. It was pretty even and whenever one guy was getting ahead, the other guy countered nicely. Great effort from both here and it was fairly close in terms of punches landed so I'll go with a draw.

Only preseason, but Kordic and McClelland put on a show. Traded lefts until they were tired out. A grip and rip'em battle. Saw this one on a tape that McClelland had of his own fights, looks like the footage is from the Oiler team camera and radio voice Rod Phillips calling the action. He ends the fight with the appropriate quote "man, those two guys are tough!"

They start trading lefts and Kordic looks to get the better of it at first. McClelland comes on a bit stronger near the end and gets a real good smack at Kordic. McClelland throws a couple of more and they stop.

This is one of those fights where you actually chuckle it's so good, both guys just stand back and wail away on each other, tons of toe to toe action included, a well earned draw for both guys here in a true classic.

Fiasco log says Turcotte fought Hilliard Graves, but I'm sure it must have been Steve Graves.Reply
