This wasn't a good fight. It can be best seen on replay. McKenzie landed an average left and missed a shot. Richardson landed a body blow and missed a punch. He landed an average blow and missed a punch. The refs stopped the fight in a clinch.

This was a draw. Both men landed one solid blow to the head.

Well behind the play Jim McKenzie initiates a fight with Luke Richardson over a hit Richardson threw. They get a hold of each other and both open up with Richardson getting his right out of his jersey. Richardson throws three rights and lands one to the body as McKenzie gets in tight. They just wrestle and the linesmen intervene. Draw in a really poor fight.

Turner Stevenson narrow win Fun
6
The third and last fight of the season for P.J. Stock and Turner Stevenson begins in the neutral zone as they come together in front of the New Jersey Devils' bench. They grab on and Stevenson throws four long lefts and lands one, then lands a left as Stock misses a right. Stevenson then goes to the right and fires toe-to-toe with Stock. Stock throws seven rights and connects on one as Stevenson throws eight rights and lands four. Then Stock ducks away and misses a left while Stevenson misses a right that sends him falling to the ice. The linesmen get in right away and break it up there. Stock raises his hand in the air and then waves his arms to the crowd as he goes to penalty box while Stevenson is given some pats by his teammates. A pretty short but fairly entertaining scrap with Stevenson winning by landing more punches but nothing really connected that well for anyone.

Stevenson and Stock decided to throw down. Turner landed a partial connect and missed a few lefts. P.J. missed a blow, landed a body shot, and landed a partial connect. He missed a shot. Stevenson landed an average blow, a partial connect, and an average shot. He landed a solid blow and missed two punches. Stock landed an average punch and missed a few shots. Turner slipped to the ice.

I rate this as a narrow win for Stevenson. I thought he landed the more substantial and effective blows.

Short, little slugfest with Stevenson throwing lefts at first and switching to the right and landing a few. Stock missed with most of his except one that appeared to catch Stevenson in the throat. Stevenson misses badly with his last punch and falls face down to the ice. No style points for Stevenson's finish but he did land more punches.

Brodeur hacked Tocchet in the face as Rick was in the crease. This blow made pretty good contact to the face and occurred before Tocchet and Stevens fought. It can be seen on the clip.Reply

Rick Tocchet narrow win Fun
8
Two old veterans, physical defensive defenseman, Scott Stevens and aggressive power forward, Rick Tocchet drop the gloves in this rough game between the New Jersey Devils and Philadelphia Flyers. They square each other up before getting a hold of one another and going in close. Tocchet misses a right and his helmet comes off, then Tocchet throws two rights and lands one. Tocchet switches hands and they go toe-to-toe but then Tocchet switches hands not long before it's over. Stevens throws eleven rights and lands five as Tocchet throws four lefts and lands two, then four rights and lands two. Stevens misses two rights afterwards, then Tocchet switches hands again and throws eleven lefts and lands six as they get some space from each other and Stevens just ducks his head and loses his hold of Tocchet. Then Stevens gets his hold back and gets in close again with Tocchet. Stevens misses two lefts and switches hands. Stevens throws seven rights and lands four. Stevens loses his helmet and Tocchet misses a left while Stevens misses a right. Tocchet then misses a left and gets taken down by Stevens. The linesmen get in and the two fighters are separated. Good scrap. Edge Tocchet.

This was an excellent fight. Tocchet missed two punches and landed a decent blow. He missed a right. Stevens missed a punch and landed an average blow. He missed a shot and landed a decent right. He missed two punches, landed a decent blow, and missed a shot. Rick landed a partial connect and an average shot. He missed a left and landed an average punch.

Tocchet missed a few blows and landed two decent rights. Scott landed a body punch and missed a blow. Rick landed a decent punch and a partial connect. He missed a shot and landed an average shot. He missed two punches and landed two solid blows. Stevens missed a punch and landed a partial connect. He landed an average connect, a partial connect, and a few light punches. Tocchet landed a partial connect. Scott wrestled him down hard to the ice.

I rate this as a narrow win for Tocchet. His blows had a better impact. Stevens landed a number of punches, but several of the blows weren't all that effective.

Great fight between two long-time rivals. Stevens gets the better of the early exchange, before Tocchet unloads some lefts that had Stevens reeling. Both guys got their licks in, Tocchet was bloody but hard to call a winner in this one.

What a classic fight. Stevens and Tocchet go toe to toe. Tocchet takes control and starts to pound on the Stevens. Stevens locks him up and they begin to exchange again Stevens seems to have a slight edge. At the end Stevens tackles Tocchet.

Perfect spirited fight of these two NHL veterans! Both land couple of great shots...Scotty at the start, Tocchet at the end. Tocchet maybe land a little more punches, but Stevens cut Tocchet with a right hand. So i say DRAW in the great fight!

Great fight between two veterans, one of the best fights of the season no doubt. Nice square off, when they grab each other Tocchet quickly loses his helmet. They go toe to toe early, Stevens lands more punches and also cleaner punches during the exchange. Stevens is winning at that point, but Tocchet comes back strong and starts hammering Stevens with unanswered lefts, almost putting him down. Stevens recovers and lands a little more late before wrestling Tocchet down. Tocchet was cut pretty good and had to go for repairs. Solid draw in a great fight, even though I'm a huge Tocchet fan I never thought he won this fight.

Great fight. They are both slugging away at one another, each landing some solid blows. However, Tocchet has a flurry of left-hand bombs in the middle of the fight that give him the decision. Narrow win for Tocchet.

Two Old War Horses do battle because it's hockey. Neither had to fight in the league at that point but they did as Marty slashed him a little (forget Tocchet's soccer player imitation). Stevens with more punches and bloodied Tocchet. Tocchet had one good flair but Stevens recovered and got the take down. I could have cast this as a draw as well but the blood was a factor in the edge IMO. Loved it. As much as I hate the Flyers I always liked the way Tocchet played.

Jim McKenzie clear win Fun

Jim McKenzie finishes a check on Chris McAllister in the corner and then McAllister hooks McKenzie as he skates away. McKenzie turns to McAllister and drops the gloves before McAllister. As McAllister drops his, McKenzie starts throwing a series of eleven rights in a row, connecting on seven as McAllister struggles to get set. Then McAllister misses a left and McKenzie throws three rights after, landing one. They pause and McKenzie misses a right, then McAllister switches hands and shakes off his right elbow pad. They grapple about before McAllister misses a right, then the referees wade on in and separate the two heavyweights. Alright battle. Obvious win to McKenzie for landing more but he did get the jump on McAllister who was a little marked up afterwards.

Big Mac had three bouts in this game and this was the only good one. He was doing some enforcing here as McAllister ran over Colin White. The start of the bout can be seen on the replay.

McKenzie landed a solid blow and missed a shot. He landed two average punches and missed a blow. He landed an average connect, a solid blow, and an average shot. McAllister landed a decent left. Big Mac landed an average blow, landed a solid punch, and missed a shot. Chris couldn't get his arm fully free and the refs stopped the fight.

I rate this as a clear win for McKenzie. Jim landed several effective punches and got hit with little in return.

Late in a tie game, Chris McAllister meets back up with Jim McKenzie and gets a rematch. The two heavyweights drop the gloves but they go down almost right away with McAllister on top. McAllister gets to his knees and then lands a right which gets McKenzie upset. McKenzie gets up and misses a right as he's restrained by the interceding linesmen. McKenzie then misses a left and the linesmen send them off. Third fight of the year for these two and the third fight of the game for McKenzie. Not much of a fight and an edge to McAllister for landing the only punch.

This was a very brief contest, but there was some significant action. McAllister landed a solid right hand. McKenzie missed a right and landed a body blow. The refs stopped the fight.
