 hb11 3518 fight reviews Jul 23, 2007 11:35 ET | Kris Newbury narrow win | Fun 6 |
| There's a crowd in front of the Rochester goalie and Ondrus is poking away at the puck after it's been stopped. Paetsch pushes him away and Newbury comes in to shove Paetsch. They face up to each other and Newbury drops his gloves first as Paetsch starts to stumble backwards over a stick or skate. Newbury lands a solid right as Paetsch is on the way down. Paetsch rips Newbury's helmet off but takes a few more rights to the back of the head while he's down. He gets up and they grapple for position. Paetsch loses his bucket too but lands a decent right to the ear. They each land some ineffective rights in tight before tiring. The linesmen are drawn away by the secondary fights and the referee steps between Paetsch and Newbury. Narrow win for Newbury. He got off the mark quicker and landed the best punch of the scrap. The second half of the fight was very even. |

vinner your a joke.
all hugging, Paetsch lands a few to the back of Newbury's head, Newbury comes back with a few of his own, Paetsch gets out of his jersey and the rest of the fights take place and these two just hold on not even wrestling until a ref comes over to them and breaks them up. |

 hb11 3518 fight reviews Jul 23, 2007 11:56 ET | Doug Janik narrow win | Fun 7 |
| This fight and the Jacina fight both start at roughly the same time just as the Newbury scrap is winding down. Janik tries for the takedown right away but Ondrus resists though he does fall to his knees briefly. Janik's helmet comes off in the scuffle and Ondrus gets to his feet and tosses an errant left. These two are on their own just inside the blueline with the officials occupied elsewhere. The camera shifts back and forth and Ondrus lands a short right and then misses a big roundhouse right. Janik grabs Ondrus and takes him down after the overthrow. They lie on the ice momentarily. Ondrus loses his helmet and Janik lets him up. The camera cuts over to the Bell fight but shifts back and Janik throws 5 overhand rights, connecting on 3 to the head before they go down together. They get up again and Ondrus misses a left jab and a couple of righthand uppercuts before the zebras finally move in. The camerawork overall was above average during this brawl but this scrap was long and about 80% was captured on the clip. A partial punch count has Ondrus landing 1 of 6 punches and Janik connecting on 3 of 5. Narrow win for Janik. He used his strength well to neutralize Ondrus. If he got tagged during this fight, it wasn't on camera. He finished well, landing some blows to Ondrus' unprotected head late in the scrap. Entertaining as usual when the striped ones are far from the battle. |

 hb11 3518 fight reviews Jul 23, 2007 12:04 ET | Greg Jacina decisive win | Fun 7 |
| This fight starts secondarily at the same time as the Janik-Ondrus tilt. Englehardt and Jacina toss big rights at each other. Jacina's helmet comes off early but he takes over the fight. He lands a big right and Englehardt starts to duck down and eventually goes to his knees as Jacina continues to pound away. The linesmen quickly race over to stop it when it becomes one-sided. Decisive win for Jacina. This one wasn't close. |

| This was the only yawner of the 4 fights. They're in at close quarters on the far sideboards. Bell is trying a little harder to be active, throwing some short rights but this is really just a waltz. I didn't see a punch land on either side. Fortunately, the officials stop it quickly so the camera can return to the conclusion of the more entertaining Janik-Ondrus scrap. Draw. |

| Hoffman does instigate this one. When the camera cuts to it Hoffman rag dolls Focht to the ice throwing a couple looking to land one. They squareoff again and come together it appears as they are just going to wrestle and throw the odd punch until out of no where Hoffman pulls up the jersey and pounds Focht into the ice. |

Jocke Oct 8, 2005 00:47 ET | Focht seems to have gotten away easy from this. Only a five minute major for fighting. Whereas Hoffman got a two minute instigator, a ten minute misconduct as well as the five minute fighting major. | Reply |
