Laperriere was hammered by Mayers. In the end Jamal landed big right punch and sent Ian to the ice. Pretty TKO!

Pretty even bout, both seemed to land a couple of shots. I think the linesmen jumped in a bit too early. Good showing by Low, holding his own against one of the best fighters in the league.

Grimson punches seemed better than Low's were, even though Low held his own against a top 3 fighter in the league at the time.

Stu Grimson and Reid Simpson bump along the boards. Simpson throws a gloved punch to the back of Stu's head, driving the Reaper's face into the glass. Grimson wasn't hurt, but he was definitely not pleased. The officials kept them apart from each other, then sent them both to the boxes for two minutes (though I didn't see what Stu did to deserve any penalty).

While in the boxes serving their time, Grimson and Simpson make arrangements for when they get out...

Simpson punched Grimson from behind after the whistle. Grimson head hit the board, but he was not injured. Later in this game Grimson KOed Simpson. Fun

Stu Grimson win by KO Fun

Stu Grimson and Reid Simpson leave the boxes after serving the minor penalties for roughing. As play progresses, they skate directly across the ice to their respective benches, but they are exchanging some words as they do so.

Before the two heavyweights hop the boards and go back onto their benches, Stu gestures for Simpson to skate out away from the bench and meet him for a fight. Simpson accepts the invitation (which he would later regret profoundly).

Stu and Reid both shed the mitts and square off right in front of the benches. They crouch and load up their right hands. At the same time, both go for huge right haymakers. Simpson fails to land, while Grimson doesn't. WHAM, Grimson's fist drills Simpson directly in the face, and the follow-through leads to Stu's forearm and elbow hammering him even worse. Simpson's nose is smashed and he is instantly dropped down.

As Reid falls, Stu throws a second punch, but pulls it back when he sees the damage already done to his opponent. Simpson crumples to the ice, knocked cold. Grimson calmly steps over Simpson's body and immediately leaves the ice, not gloating in the slightest. His work was done and revenge was delivered.

Simpson has to be helped up to his skates by a trainer and his teammate Chris Pronger. They escort him off the ice and into the waiting arms of the medical staff. Blood streams out of Simpson's nose, and he looks half-conscious.

This was one of the greatest, most punishing KOs of all time. It has to rank up there as one of the best one-punch knockouts ever.

Be careful what you ask for. Simpson tracks Grimson across the ice, causing Grimson to call him out and the gloves are off. Both go for the big right, and being that Grimson has the longer reach his right hand lands flush on Simpson before Simpson's shot lands, and he's down for the count, devastating shot by Grimson.

Stu Grimson and Reid Simpson circle each other looking for an opening. Grimson is leaning in and leaning in on Simpson who wades back, but not enough. They reach in to grab on and both guys go to throw a punch. Simpson misses but Grimson does not miss. He smacks Simpson with a right and Simpson goes down and he's out of it. Grimson misses a follow up punch and then backs up and skates off knowing he's done damage to his opponent. Simpson stays on the ice for a bit then is helped off the ice by his teammates. KO Grimson without doubt.

Stu Grimson and Reid Simpson drop the mitts and square off. As Simpson reaches to grab hold with the left, they throw simultaneous rights. Simpson's hits pad, Grimson's drills him on the button dropping him instantly. As Simpson goes down, Grimson tags him again for good measure. Great 1 punch knockout for the Reaper!

ROFL. Not sure whether it was Grimson's fist or elbow but something connected and Simpson was OUT COLD.

Grimson challenges Simpson and Simpson obliges. Big mistake. Grimson skates forward and throws a right that lands right on the button and drops Simpson instantly. The best one-punch KO I've ever seen. Simpson had to be helped off the ice by teammates.
