Brashear decides to take on a guy who is actually 5 inches and 25 lbs. bigger then him. Brashear isn't used to that but he still doesn't seem that small compared to Varhaug. They dropped the gloves and helmets at center ice. They come together and Varhaug throws a couple quick right hands that miss as Brashear gets in tight to hug him. They wrestle around and Varhaug gets his right free again and throws 4-5, landing a couple of them, taking Brashear down to his knees. Brashear gets up as he is yanking Varhaug's jersey over his head. Varhaug tries to get his jersey down and as he is trying to get it down Brashear throws a couple rapid left hands surprising Varhaug and Varhaug falls backwards to the ice.
Brashear is my favorite fighter as far as NHLers go but he didn't drop Varhaug. Varhaug fell thanks to being blinded, no stunning punchers or knee bucklers. This was a Draw. Varhaug early and Brashear late. |

They decide to go at center ice and Brashear probably lands a left as they grab. Varhaug throws a few during the spinning and Brashear loses his balance for a while. As he gets up, he pulls Varhaug's jersey up at same time. Varhaug is halfly blinded and Brashear has time to think what to do next. He throws two lefts, but after watching them slow motion, I think both lefts are missed. Well, while throwing them, Brashear helps Varhaug to lose his balance. They fall to the ice Brashear on top and the refs jump in immediately. Varhaug gets himself on top and it takes some time to separate them. |

Brashear's punches never landed on Varhaug. No way this is a TKO in my point of view. |

Sloppy fight with a lot of action. Brashear lands a big left at the end that puts Varhaug down. It is a tough call given the camera work but it looks to me that last punch landed. |

Kind of a slopping fight, Varhaug has the early lead after throwing a few and landing a couple but Brashear comes on to get the narrow win, it's not a TKO in my eyes, the first blow was a grazing blow and the second misses, Varhaug got himself off balance as he was pulling his head out of the jersey and the punch landed simultaneously, narrow win Brashear. |

Two big guys fight.Draw in my opinion, because Brashear just help Varhaug to lose his balance. |
hcanine Oct 26, 2006 11:43 ET | Hmmm...from a TKO to a draw. How does that happen? Does falling on your opponent mean a TKO? | Reply |
mackblom Oct 27, 2006 06:29 ET | Quote from message by hcanine | | Does falling on your opponent mean a TKO? | No. I think Brashear's punches are missed and Rob thinks they are landed. That makes the difference between our calls. | Reply |
Rob666 Nov 8, 2006 12:27 ET | I watched this fight in slow motion and I can tell you for a fact that the last punch by Brashear deffinitly lands. I have this on DVD and it is clear that it lands solidly and puts Varhaug down. So I think you should change your call. | Reply |
mackblom Nov 9, 2006 06:55 ET | I still disagree with you Rob. Brashear fells Varhaug while throwing the last two punches. The 2nd punch stays short IMO. | Reply |

TonytheTiger 7521 fight reviews 5 fight logs Oct 29, 2013 20:50 ET | Jacques Dube narrow win | Fun 6 |
Solid scrap there on Dube's part because the fight was not going his way at first. They dropped the gloves and went at it at center ice. Bosse had his right hand completely loose but Dube was able to get off most of it as nothing landed cleanly on Bosse's part. Then, he was able to fight at closer reach as he landed three straight solid rights on Bosse. They wrestled a bit as Bosse's jersey came completely off, which didn't prevent Dube to land another right. Dube puts Bosse down on the ice as Dube lands a few more shots before the linesmen came in. It could be a Decisive win for Dube, but I'll let as a Narrow win because Bosse could have come up on his feet again as he was not in a hopeless situation. |
itsJ.Millertime 12546 fight reviews Jun 24, 2018 11:52 ET | Steve Bosse narrow win | Fun 6 |
Long, decent fight, Bosse takes a lead through the first half throwing and landing several blows while Dube mainly just tries to get in close and tie him up, Dube opens up some in the 2nd half and lands a few rights but Bosse is returning fire and landing a couple of his own, Dube wrestles Bosse to his knees and lands a blow or two before the linesmen come in, Dube closed the gap in the 2nd half but it wasn't enough to overcome Bosse's early lead in my eyes, narrow win Bosse. |
