58Probert's last season. He had 17 fighting majors in 61 games, so a much more active season than his previous two, but he was not a Top 10 heavyweight anymore. Probert's wins this season included Jody Shelley in their 3rd fight in Chicago, Darcy Hordichuk, Gordie Dwyer, Todd Simpson and Bob Boughner. Probert had draws with his old rival Stu Grimson in their last fight, Kevin Sawyer, Jody Shelley in their 1st fight and Brad Norton in Probie's last career fight. Probert lost to Donald Brashear, Peter Worrell and Georges Laraque, who were IMO the Top 3 fighters of 01/02 season, though he held his own pretty good against Worrell and Laraque. Jody Shelley got the better of him in two of their fights, the 2nd in Chicago and the one in Columbus. Andrei Nazarov edged him which was not a good showing by Probert, but it should be noted that the cut Probert suffered in the fight came when Nazarov scratched Probert's forehead with his fingernails. Probert's worst loss IMO was against Laus, who bloodied him badly.
