| 1 | Maxim Lapierre | I like him, if it's for the right price. He plays sound defensively, is a gritty player, is decent at killing penalties, is a good agitator, and scores some nice goals. He's also pretty clutch.
But he's also a known diver and rather cheap at times. I'm more neutral on him than anything else, but I don't hate him. He's great for the right price and I think he'll be a good fit with Alain Vigneault in Vancouver. |
| 2 | Guillaume Latendresse | He's a big body, nice scoring touch, can be physical when he has to, and is pretty much money when he's around the net.
The only downside is he's not that great of a skater and he's not the best defensive player out there. Gui is just a guy that was not meant to play in Montreal, despite being from there. On a good year, I would expect 30-25-55 from him and +5 or so. He's definitely capable of 30 goals. |
| 3 | Georges Laraque | Best fighter of his generation. Wish he was utilized properly in Montreal. |
| 4 | Antoine Vermette | Good defensive forward, good goal scorer, great playmaker. He's only been a minus once in his career and never with Columbus. To be neutral or plus on Columbus is quite an accomplishment. |
| 5 | Sidney Crosby | As much as I dislike him, he's a great player. He has no real weakness. He has the potential to be the best player ever not named Wayne Gretzky. |
| 6 | Steve Begin | Loved him on Montreal. Gritty player, gave it 110% each night, and often played through injuries. His main weakness was he took stupid penalties and often at the worst possible time. |
