Bob Probert | The King. RIP.
Rick Tocchet | Greatest power forward ever! My second all time favorite player behind Probert.
Stu Grimson | Grim Reaper was awesome. Had a great rivalry with Probert. Wasn't very impressive in his first two seasons, but in 92/93 he had a great season and from that on he was one of the best in the league for almost a decade.
John Kordic | Rambo was great in his Montreal days. One of my all time favorites. Had a great rivalry with Jay Miller.
Craig Berube | The Chief is one of my all time favorites
Marty McSorley | Great fighter, probably top 10 all time. Had a lot of memorable marathon fights.
Tim Hunter | Great fighter, one of my biggest favorites. Very underrated, was one of the best in the 80's. Had a lot of great fights with McSorley and Semenko when he was in Calgary.
Behn Wilson | Great fighter, top 3 all time. Was a good defenseman too.
Dave Brown | Feared fighter. Top 3 all time. Loved watching him beat Domi every time.
Link Gaetz | Pure psycho
Scott Parker | The Sheriff, one of my all time favorites. Bit of a madman, it was always exciting to watch him play. Was the champ in the WHL and AHL. Also a solid top10 fighter in the NHL from 00/01 to 03/04, perhaps even a top5 for a couple of seasons. It's a shame he didn't see much icetime after the lockout anymore and retired so early.
Dan Kordic | He was one of my biggest favorites when he was in Philly. Big guy, very entertaining fighter. Easily a top 10 fighter in 96/97 and 97/98. Especially in 96/97 he was one of the best in the league, I ranked him #3 that year, only behind Twist and Grimson.
Eric Cairns | One of the hardest punchers. Wasn't very impressive in his Rangers days, but during his Islanders years he was a top 5 fighter and I think he was even #1 for a season or two.
Eric Godard | My favorite fighter in the current NHL. Very entertaining and when he's at his best I don't think there's anyone better than him in the league. I also like that he never does any stupid post fight antics, even when he TKO's someone like Boogaard or Orr he just calmly skates into the penaltybox unlike some clowns who showboat even after they lose a fight
Rocky Thompson | Not a big guy, but one of the toughest. Will go with anyone and is one of the most entertaining fighters out there.
Brian McGrattan | One of the best and one of my favorites in the current NHL. Entertaining and very willing fighter, possible #1 in the future.
Brandon Sugden | One of the best in the AHL
Mel Angelstad | Mad Mel is maybe the most entertaining fighter I've seen.
Todd Fedoruk | Good guy. One of the toughest in the league.
Jody Shelley | It was great to see him play in Finland. Fights often and is good at it. Good guy.
Dennis Bonvie | Dennis The Menace is a living legend.
Krzysztof Oliwa | Really liked him as a player, was one of the most willing fighters out there. European player that you actually want to see in the league.
Francis Lessard | Tough and crazy. Goes toe to toe with anyone. Great slugfests with guys like Parker, Godard and Fedoruk.
Stan Jonathan | Pound for pound maybe the toughest
P.J. Stock | Little guy, but went toe to toe with anyone.
Steve McLaren | Great fighter. Really fun to watch.
Jesse Boulerice | Good fighter and entertaining too.
Josh Gratton | No defense in his fights. Very entertaining fighter who can really take a punch.

Terry O'Reilly | Great player and a fighter.
Curt Fraser | Tough as nails
Joey Kocur | Hardest puncher.
Kevin Holliday | True tough guy.
Brandon Christian | You gotta love "House of Pain"!
Jim McKenzie | Underrated fighter.
Jay Miller | One of the toughest guys of 80's. Great moustache as well!
Serge Roberge | Minor league legend. Very good technical fighter. Beat huggy bear easily in the minors, not once, but twice.
Patrick Cote | Too bad his career was so short in the NHL. He led the league in fighting majors in 98/99 and had many great fights that season, his card was unbelievable that season, he fought pretty much every top HW; Twist x3, Brashear x2, Grimson x2, Probert x3, Domi, Oliwa, Worrell, Laus, Ray...
Todd Ewen | Big and strong guy, very tough.
Scott Daniels | He was a pillow puncher and a punching bag, but always entertaining. Threw punches extremely fast, just too bad he didn't have much power behind those punches.
Mike Peluso | Terrible balance, but fun to watch anyway and very willing to go.
Mike Brown | He's tough
Mario Roberge | Good technical fighter, like his brother Serge.
Mark Janssens | His fights were always entertaining.
Darin Kimble | Had a lot of great bouts. One of the most entertaining fighters ever.
Kip Brennan | Come back to Finland Kip!
Colton Orr | Hard puncher for sure, always fun to watch
Ryan VandenBussche | True warrior. One of the most entertaining fighters ever in the NHL. I was fortunate to see him drop the gloves in Finnish league!
Eric Lindros | He was awesome player in the mid 90's.
Cam Neely | "Kick his ass, Sea Bass!"
Brendan Shanahan | Great power forward.
Keith Primeau | Great power forward that could go with anyone
Adam Deadmarsh | I always liked him. Good player who also fought quite a bit. Beat some tough customers like Shanahan, Corson, McCarty and King. It's sad he had to retire.
Jarome Iginla | Great powerforward. Does have a weak fight card though.
Bill Guerin | I like him, scores goals and fights.
Terry Carkner | Good defensive d-man, great fight card, when he fought he usually went with the other teams HW's. Too bad there isn't d-men like this in the league anymore. In his prime (Flyers days) he was a very capable fighter, fought the toughest guys in the league like Probert, Kocur, Miller, McSorley and Crowder and gave them all they could handle. Definitely underrated fighter.
Mark Tinordi | Big tough defenceman. Had some excellent fights and beat guys like Baumgartner, Poeschek, Clark, Shanahan and Primeau.
Matt Nickerson | Finnish league legend!
Joe Sakic | Great player and a classy guy
Steve Yzerman | Great player.
Vincent Lecavalier | Great player who will drop his gloves if he has to.
Al MacInnis | I always liked him. Great player, huge slapshot.
Ray Bourque | One of the best d-men of all time.
Barry Melrose | Barry "The Mullet" Melrose
Don Cherry | Grapes for commish!
Mario Lemieux | Super Mario!
Neil Little | Goalie who fights. He's a real showman.
Doug Shedden | He's a good coach
Craig Coxe | Man oh man this guy was entertaining
Stephen Peat | Short career in the NHL but he will be missed, had a lot of great bouts.
Kelly Buchberger | Great team guy. Stood up for his teammates, got beaten all the time in his fights, but still went after the toughest guys in the league and had a wide open style.
Cam Russell | Usually lost, but was always one of the most entertaining fighters. Wasn't afraid to go toe to toe with anyone.
Brent Hughes | Got murdered in one fight after the other but always came back for more.
Bob Bassen | Small guy who could throw them pretty well
Gary Nylund | Another tough defenseman. Became a firefighter after his hockey career.
Ken Baumgartner | Bomber was a great fighter. Some entertaining battles, especially in his LA days.
Wendel Clark | You have to like him, even though he played for the Leafs!
Cam Janssen | Hits hard and will go with anyone, one of the most exciting players in the league
Shawn Thornton | Good to see him in the NHL.
Darren Pang | Good commentator, seems to enjoy the fights
Jeff Cowan | Not much defense in his fights. Reminds me of Kelly Buchberger.

Dave Manson | Wildman!
Gary Roberts | Warrior
Rob Pearson | Took some beatings, but was an entertaining middleweight scrapper. He also had a cool mullet, haha!
Neil Wilkinson | D-man who wasn't afraid to drop them with anyone. Had some entertaining battles.
Steve Bosse | One tought SOB
Tim Leveque | How can you not like this guy?
Doug Doull | Always gives his all
Brent Thompson | There's no hugging in his fights, very entertaining to watch.
Jeff Odgers | Toe to toe fighter and always one of the most willing fighters. Warrior.
Steve Leach | How can you have him on your hate list? He was a middleweight and not a very good fighter, but he was a very gutsy guy. Small guy, but fought with some of the leagues heavyweights. I'd take a guy like Leach on my team any day over a spot picker like Eager, Avery, Ruutu, etc.
Scott Mellanby | He could score and fight
Adam Foote | Good d-man. Really liked him in his Avalanche days, had a pretty good rivalry with Shanahan.
Chris Gratton | Decent player and always good for about 5 fights for a season
Todd Harvey | Fearless guy, had some great bouts. Fought a lot of heavies and his fight card includes elite HW's like Simon, Probert, Odjick, Johnson, Worrell etc. Great fight card for a middleweight and he was an entertaining fighter, not a hugger.
Mike Siklenka | Big tough defenseman, hard puncher. One of my favorite players who played in Finnish league, pummelled two cheap pricks Pikkarainen and Komarov.
Clint Malarchuk | Came back after he almost died on the ice. He also had a few scraps and even squared off with Tony Twist one time, you gotta love a goalie like that.
Joel Otto | Big centerman who fought quite a bit and was a good player too
Alexander Yudin | Ivan Drago of hockey!
Brad Brown | Good fighter, d-man that should still be in the NHL but is stuck in the minors when softies like Petteri Nummelin have taken his spot in the "new NHL".
Reid Simpson | Never really a top10 fighter, but always willing and had some great battles.
Dennis Vial | Very exciting fighter, had a lot of classic bouts, has the be one of the most entertaining fighters ever. His 95/96 season was amazing, I don't think anyone has had so many great fights in a single season in NHL.
Troy Crowder | Was one of the best in 90/91
Greg Smyth | Madman and a very exciting fighter
Darcy Loewen | Exciting middleweight who played a couple of seasons in Ottawa. Quite similar to one of my favorite middleweights Brent Hughes.
Jeff Chychrun | Terry Carkner's defense partner in the Flyers. Great rookie season in 88/89.
Lyndon Byers |
Jim Kyte | Took a few bad losses, but definitely underrated

Randy McKay | One of the most active fighters in the early 90's, good fighter who became a valuable player too.
Warren Rychel | In his LA days he was one of the most active fighters. Not a great fighter by any means, but I liked him, wasn't afraid to go with anyone.
Phil Crowe | Had some classic fights in his short NHL career
Scott Levins | Tall guy, very entertaining from what I've seen.
Marc Potvin | Fun to watch when he was with LA and Hartford. Not a great fighter but very willing, like Warren Rychel.
Stephane Quintal | Another big tough d-man. Great fight card, most of the guys he fought were true heavyweights, definitely not a spot picker by any means.
Dean Kennedy | Tough d-man who could go with the heavyweights and usually did very well
Sergio Momesso |
Jim Peplinski | Good player and a captain who wasn't afraid to drop them with anyone
Garth Butcher | Tough defenseman
David Koci | One of the toughest Euros. Big guy who's very willing, 15 fighting majors in only 27 career NHL games.
Steve MacIntyre | One of the best fighters at the moment. Very entertaining style as well, not that jersey jab, keep the other guy at arms length crap. He is not afraid to take one to give one.
Reed Low | Yeah he was a pillow puncher, but he was also very entertaining fighter, not a hugger by any means. He was also a top 10 guy in the NHL for a few seasons.
Louie DeBrusk | Good guy, strong as an ox. He was a grappler, but when he wanted to throw he was dangerous.

Derek Sanderson | Greatest commentator of all time, haha!

Mitch Fritz | Mitch "Hurricane" Fritz
Darcy Verot | 508 PIMS in 43 games in Russia, jeez! I'd love to see him in Finnish league!
Kevin Westgarth | Very entertaining HW and one of the best in the AHL, hopefully we'll see him in the NHL soon
Ryan Hollweg | I've started to like him this season. Cheap, no doubt about it, and usually gets his ass handed to him in fights, but still has balls to drop the gloves with true heavyweights, unlike some spot picker like J.Ruutu who rarely fights and only fights guys he knows he can beat.
Jonathan Tremblay | "The Hammer"
Derek Boogaard | RIP
Jordin Tootoo | Very entertaining player, this league needs more guys like him. Sometimes cheap but he will fight and usually picks up 10-15 fights in a season.
Chris Neil | Doesn't fight as much as he did before the lockout when he was Ottawa's #1 fighter, more of a light heavy now. Neil's fights are usually fun to watch, he's not afraid to take a punch and he can hold his own against anyone.

Mike Hoffman | He's huge and a pretty good fighter, wish Atlanta would call him up

Jim Vandermeer | Old school d-man, he can play and he can go with the heavyweights of the league
Grant Marshall | When he fought his fights were usually very entertaining. TKO'd Tie Domi and gave him one of his worst losses!
Mike Rupp | In the last few years he has started to fight more and more and now goes with the leagues heavyweights and has scored some nice wins too, pretty good for a guy who only fought once or twice in a year before the lockout season.
Rick Hayward | Just for jumping and pounding J.Ruutu
Brady Austin |
Todd Simpson | Always liked players like him, physical defenseman who fought often and could fight with the leagues heavyweights. Was also a captain of the Calgary Flames.
Scott Pearson | Decent middleweight
Todd Gill | Very quick puncher. Small guy but wasn't afraid to go with anyone, took on guys like Kocur, Wilson, McSorley, etc.

Jay Wells | Underrated fighter. One of those physical defensemen that could go with anyone.
Ron Francis | Great player. Underrated.
John Scott | Unfortunately there are very few guys left in the NHL who will fight him.

D.J. King | Entertaining HW and a top10 fighter in the league when healthy
Derian Hatcher | Big mean defenseman and a captain of the Stars. Had some great fights with Brendan Shanahan.
Kyle Freadrich | Huge guy from the WHL. Terrorised the IHL in his first pro season, destroyed minor league legend Angelstad twice in one game. Had perhaps the best fight of all time with Vandenbussche during his short stint in the NHL. It's a shame his career ended so early.
Daniel Lacroix | Center of the "Dan Line" in Flyers
Bob Rouse | Underrated fighter

Jason Smith | Good defensive defenseman who was no stranger for dropping the mitts
Luke Richardson | Lucky Luke
Doug Zmolek | More of a light heavy, good fight card. Usually lost but also scored a couple of upset wins over all time tough guys Grimson and McSorley.
Bob Boughner | Not very good fighter but that didn't stop him from fighting some of the leagues true heavyweights.
Matthew Barnaby | Fearless. Did some things I didn't like but the guy was definitely a warrior and wasn't afraid to go with anyone. Middleweight size but that didn't stop him from fighting monsters like Grimson, Worrell, Chara, Fritz etc.
Doug Houda | Punching bag but had some tough names in his fight card
Shayne Corson | Good player and a fighter
Stephane Matteau |

Lyle Odelein | Used to hate him when he was still playing but now that he's retired i've actually started to like him. Good fighter and a good defensive defenseman too.
Sean Burke | One of the toughest goalies. I'll never forget that BUF-VAN game where Burke fought Barnaby and on the next shift went with Shields. Awesome game that was also televised here.
Burke Henry | Wish he'd come back to Finnish league
Marc Bergevin |
John Brophy | Tough
Triston Grant | Not the best fighter but he's a gamer
Steve Thomas | Long career in the NHL, would fight about 5 times per year, it was good seeing him beat that punk Avery when he was with Blackhawks.
Robert Dirk | Big defenseman who could go with anyone. Had a real beauty with Mark Tinordi.
Duane Derksen | When he was playing in Finland I was at the game where he got slashed after a whistle, Derksen threw his equipment off and started pounding the opponent. He got ejected from that game, only time I've seen a goalie fighting live.
Deryk Engelland | Really made name for himself by dropping Orr. Good light-heavy, hopefully he'll be a regular in the Penguins defense this season after spending years in the minors.

Darcy Hordichuk | Entertaining toe to toe fighter
Kamil Kreps | I've seen many games at Oulu, but the only fight I've seen there so far is Kreps' fight against Marjamäki. It was great for once seeing one of their players stand up for himself.
Joel Rechlicz | Entertaining and crazy. He will fight absolutely anyone anytime unlike most of today's new wannabe heavyweights.
Tom Kostopoulos | Poor fighter, but I respect a guy who's not afraid to go with better fighters no matter how many times he gets beaten. And seeing him drop that spot picking coward Bieksa was beautiful!
Brent Johnson | 2 fights in 16 games this season, he would lead the Red Wings in fighting majors and he's a goalie!
Jared Boll | Always one of the league leaders in fighting majors. Light heavy but not afraid to go with the big boys.
Brett Gallant | Always entertaining

Wade Brookbank | Pretty good heavyweight, good 03/04 season in the NHL, I even had him in my top10 that season.
Paul Laus | Wasn't the most exciting fighter IMO even though he had some memorable KO's/TKO's, but the guy was always one of the most willing fighters, he did his job well and I dont remember him ever showboating after his fights.
Wade Belak | RIP. Fight fans will never forget him knocking huggy bear out.
Cody McCormick | Good middleweight

Milan Lucic | Best power forward in the league now
Petr Tenkrat | Poor man's Pavel Bure
Brad Smyth | Too bad he only played one season in Finland, my favorite player in Kärpät.
Jon "Nasty" Mirasty | Not a fan of his showboating, but I can only like a guy who will fight absolutely anyone and always go toe to toe no matter how big or tough the opponent is.
Ken Daneyko | Rock solid defenseman who could fight with anyone. Hammered Rob Ray in all their 3 fights.
Scott Stevens | Great defenseman and tough as nails. Wasn't a big fan of his when he was playing though, mainly because I was a big of Eric Lindros haha.
Alan May | Washington's #1 policeman in the early 90's. Never a top10 heavy but did a good job.
Chris McAllister | Was very good in Philly in 00/01 and 01/02 and was one of my favorite heavyweights at that time. However after Primeau broke his nose in training camp he became useless and almost stopped fighting, I was definity not a fan of that McAllister.
Ryan Flinn | Big heavyweight, entertaining fights.
Jake Doty | Good young heavyweight
Stu Bickel | Good rookie year and had most fighting majors among defensemen in the league.

Nick Kypreos | Fought Russell and Cummins in a game where he had his nose broken earlier, gotta love a crazy guy like him.

Jouni Kalliokoski | Legend!
Tanner LeSann | Very entertaining
Frazer McLaren |
Randy Carlyle | Great coach. Always had a tough team in Anaheim and look at Anaheim now when that fat pussy Boudreau is their coach, they don't have a heavy and even Staubitz is usually scratched and Matt Beleskey is their tough guy. And look at the Leafs lineup this season, Orr, McLaren, Fraser all dressed, the toughest team in the league.
Keegan Kanzig |
Daryl Reaugh |
Mike Brown | Fast hands
Paul MacLean | Gotta love the Walrus
| # | Team | Comments |
Philadelphia Flyers 1996-1997 | I loved that fourth line of Kordic, Daniels and Lacroix, The Dan Line!
Hartford Whalers 1996-1997 | Last season of the Whalers, they also had a very tough fourth line; Grimson, Janssens and Chase. It's a shame there's no such lines anymore in the "New NHL"
Chicago Blackhawks 1998-1999 | Lot of tough guys; Probert, B.Brown, R.Simpson, Janssens, Zmolek, Manson and even Bonvie played a few games.
Colorado Avalanche 1998-1999 | They had 5 heavyweights dressed for some games; Odgers, Parker, Belak, Rychel and Russell. You gotta love a team like that. Guys like Deadmarsh, Corbet and Foote were also capable of dropping the mitts.
Chicago Blackhawks 1999-2000 | 1999/2000 season was not a very good for fight fans, but Blackhawks had a very tough team. Three heavyweights who i think were all in the top 10 in 99/00; Probert, Brown, Vandenbussche and also guys like Allison, Janssens and McCabe.
Louisville Panthers 2000-2001 | Must have been a fun team to watch, young guns like Godard, R.Thompson, Tetarenko and also guys like B.Thompson and Cirillo who were not afraid to drop their gloves either.
Kansas City Blades 2000-2001 | They had plenty of tough guys; Brown, Wood, Vodrazka, Darby. Always nice to see a team like that.
Florida Panthers 2001-2002 | They had well over 100 fighting majors in regular season, 117 if I'm not mistaken. Those numbers are amazing, I doubt we will ever see anything like that again. You always knew there would be a scrap in their game.
Calgary Flames 2003-2004 | Too bad they didn't win the Cup, they were really fun to watch. There should be more teams like this, instead of damn pussy teams like Red Wings and Hurricanes in todays pussified NHL.
Philadelphia Phantoms 2004-2005 | Very tough team that won the Calder Cup. They had 4 heavyweights; Fedoruk, Gratton, Cote, Smith and also middleweights like Eager and Skolney. Man, I wish there would be teams like this in the NHL.
Assat Pori 2005-2006 | This team was very fun to watch in Finnish league, they even had more fights in much less games than some pussy NHL teams did in 05/06.
Anaheim Ducks 2006-2007 | Every fight fan should root for this team. By far the most exciting team in the current NHL, at this pace they'll have 80-90 fights in the regular season. Hopefully they will win the Cup.
Philadelphia Flyers 2001-2002 | This team was fun to watch. Fedoruk, McAllister, Brashear, Richardson, Primeau, not too shabby.
New York Rangers 2001-2002 | Liked watching their games this season. McCarthy, Purinton, McKenna, Barnaby, there was always a good chance to see some fighting in their games.
Philadelphia Flyers 2000-2001 | Fedoruk, McAllister, Stock, Richardson, Tocchet, really liked this team.
Pittsburgh Penguins 2000-2001 | The season Lemieux made his comeback, that was great to see. They definitely had too many Euros, but they also plenty of muscle; Oliwa, McKenna, Boughner, Barnaby, Tibbetts. Definitely liked watching their games this season.
Chicago Blackhawks 1996-1997 | Another tough Blackhawks squad. Probert, Ciccone, Cummins, Russell, four heavyweights on one team, always good to see.
Calgary Flames 2007-2008 | I like this team, they have lots of players who will drop the gloves and they led the league in regular season fighting majors.
Philadelphia Flyers 2008-2009 | Cote, Asham and Carcillo, just a fun team to watch
Anaheim Ducks 2008-2009 | Most fighting majors in preseason, most fighting majors in regular season, and most fighting majors in playoffs, every fight fan should root for them in the new pussy nhl.
Vityaz Chekhov 2009-2010 | Sugden, Simon, Gratton and Verot. European team that makes all NHL and AHL teams look like a bunch of pussies.
Vityaz Chekhov 2010-2011 | Another tough Vityaz team
Boston Bruins 2010-2011 | Hopefully they'll win the Cup this year. One of the toughest teams in this pussy league, they dress an enforcer even in playoffs and have a bunch of guys willing to drop the gloves. And the Bruins have the funniest announcer in the league, Jack Edwards, haha.
Canada 2001-2002 | Lemieux, Lindros, Sakic, Yzerman, MacInnis etc. This team had a lot of my childhood heroes and it was very nice to see them win.
Vityaz Chekhov 2011-2012 | How can you not like this team?
Philadelphia Flyers 1988-1989 | What a lineup. Brown, Berube, Chychrun, that's 3 true heavyweights and both Brown and Berube were easily top5 this season. Tocchet a powerforward and Carkner and Wells tough defensemen who could go with anyone. Mellanby another powerforward who was more of a middleweight. Has to be one of the toughest teams ever in the NHL.
Toronto Maple Leafs 2012-2013 | We need more teams like this in the "new NHL"
